I’m with northwind on this. I bought it to go along with my Oxford Hardcore xl, abus & hardened chain for my motorbikes. It’s to slow them and down and get bored. This chain might buy me 30seconds, or if I can place the lock away from the floor (to avoid hammer attacks), even longer.

    Bought one of those today.

I was a little worried by the lack of the word “hardened” anywhere so I took a large metal chisel and lump hammer to the chain. The chisel was ruined after 1 hit and a bit of the zinc plating on the chain got scuffed. The chain’s hardened.

I wish you the best of luck with that. It’s a fairly ingrained definition and the whole alpha/beta crops up a lot on Reddit and other forums.

Umm, you are aware that the definition of “Beta Male” isn’t exactly something to put your face to?

“An unremarkable, careful man who avoids risk and confrontation”

Was it “Male 2.0” that you were going for?

I’ve been living in Bristol for 18months and can vouch for most of what most people have said about it, especially the traffic.

However, where are you guys riding? Bristol doesn’t have a good MTB trail scene afaik. I have to go to Wales, Dartmoor, Quantocks and the Mendips for my fix.

Cheers retro83 & rotten. Knew I was forgetting something last night.

I miss 90s “bumper cars”, especially the 155s and 850s. I wish I kept all the Alfa booklets/posters I was sent after I wrote them a letter as a wee nipper.

AC is rideable in all weathers although the rocks are very polished in some sections which can catch you out.

The bits in between Yer tiz to the table, down the hill and to the other side can get “interesting” in the wet.

Is the tree still down on the way the picnic table? I’ve not been there in a while and I may ditch my bashring when I get a NW ring.

    Was there last weekend.

Berms of Ski Run are still mush. Last bit of Corkscrew is very beaten up and messy. Flatland was mush. Didn’t try Endo this time as it was pure mulch last time I went back in December. Didn’t try Mr Rooty but I thought that was OK when Endo was atrocious. Some of the holes leading into the jumps on the top section have had some superficial work to them.

All in all it’s fine, even if it was chucking it down. Sheepskull, GBU and corkscrew are probably holding up the best.

I’ve used the Fishponds and Salisbury branches for tyres, exhausts and MOTs only.

They pointed out issues I knew (blowing mid-section, broken manifold mount, missing locating bits on the alloys) but never upsold me. The last time I used them was for an MOT, and despite having a full advisory section, they passed my car. One advisory was that it had a nail in a tyre!

Friendly and fast has been my experience of kwikfit.

    Alpinestar Tech 3 motocross boots
    Icon Elsinore motorbike boots
    Dewalt steel toe-cap boots
    Shimano MP66s
    Merrell hiking boots
    Chuck Taylors
    Some plimsole looking trainers
    Work shoes

The top 2 took some courage to purchase.
