I’ve just ordered some cheap RockShox but added on a couple of “free” 9 speed cassettes and a BB. Hopefully the £200 on forks will get the free bits through

I’m thinking about it! Would love to ride it but it a heck of a drive from near Derby. I usually do the Dyfi Enduro, which got canned this year. Guess this is the nearest

EDIT: I’ve got a Kona CX with 44mm tyres, would it be a world of pain day out or is it all fire roads?

I had a Peugeot 508 hybrid recently. Could do a whole 25 miles on battery only, which was good for food shopping/nipping local.

It was such a pain to try and tie charging in with supermarkets etc. You’d go there and the chargers wouldn’t work.

Obviously I had the engine to run off since I couldn’t charge.

I traded it in for a BMW 640D

I don’t feel like the country is ready for so many leccy cars, the infrastructure isn’t there and is it likely to ever be?

Cheers for the sticker info. I’ll be getting some orange stickers. :D

These are replacing my 8 year old, never serviced Pikes. Might be time to start some bike maintenance!

Do they come with stickers the same colour as the image on Wiggles website?

Park in Betws and ride to the centre, cross the bridge and ride up through the trees. You join just after the new part, by the track with the steps.

You end there and get a lovely ride back through the trees.

I’ve only ever ridden that way, as that’s where we’d park before the Marin track was built

Not a brake failure, but I once going to cross the road in the middle of Betws on my old Marin Bear Valley, pushed down hard to set off between 2 cars and thunk! thought the chain had come off…

…looked down to see half my crank and pedal still attached to my foot, but the chain rings still on the bike! snapped the crank clean in half!? yikes!

Looked like amazing weather for it. I had to defer to next year as my bike’s still in Zwift mode (i.e. no brakes connected or bar grips), plus changing jobs has led to less training time.

I’ll aim for the win next year!

Well done to everyone on here who rode, it’s a cracking day out! I rode 2018 as a last minute placer (i.e. 2 weeks notice) that was a long day out!

2nd time in 2019, more prep time and the forethought to add a mtb cassette to my CX bike! :)

She’s gone. Taking her to the Kennel was pretty traumatic!

At least she didn’t poo all over the back seat, like last time we took her in a car!?

Everyone is upset but the atmosphere in the house seemed a lot better tonight.

The cat has even ventured downstairs! :)

    Quick update:

I spoke to the Kennels last friday and we’ve agreed she’s going back in the morning. Funnily enough, she’s been good as gold tonight, the walk was fine and chilled out on the sofa asleep all evening.

To counter that, she bit my Wife again yesterday.

It’s sad, but it’s the correct decision. :(

Will be fun packing the kids off to school in the morning…

Thanks for that, a great read.

The kennel just got back to me, they could take her next week.

Decision time! One minute I’m for keeping her and soldiering on, but there’s always the kids’ safety in the back of my mind

The time over Xmas when she went crazy at me/my daughter was genuinely scary! I was shaking for the rest of the walk!?

    Yep, spayed last August.

Just been playing hide her ball under blankets in the sofa.

Cheers for all the info, some helpful stuff.

Guess I forgot to register her warranty…

    Some other incidents.

Last time she was off the lead, she was fine for ages then suddenly went into prowl mode! At my kids! She stalked along and then ran at them! Luckily me screaming snapped her out of it!

She would often be fine off the lead but then just suddenly turn! She’d growl and run at me, snapping as she goes

Over Xmas she got triggered by my daughter running a bit. She tried to go at her but was on the lead. She was so snarky and aggressive trying to bite me. Luckily I could pull her away from me using the lead. This was particularly scary!

My wife just said it’s aggressive not playful, I’d tend to agree sadly

Forgot to add we’ve tried a behavioural therapist and she’s been on those dog calming pills since before Xmas.

We took her to North wales in the car last August. She bit her way out of the travel crate and was rampaging around the car in a panic! That was a fun 3 hr drive!

We have a cat that now lives upstairs and won’t come down. The dog will get a glimpse every so often and will get sent bananas (I guess understandably).

Tbh, it feels like we’re not quite the home she needs, too many things to trigger her

I’ve never seen such a high strung, anxious dog

Thoughts on giving the vaccine to a 5YO?

We’ve just had a letter through, advising us that our young un should be 5G enabled

She’s had quite a few really bad coughs and chests over the last couple of years, but always negative tests. (Not easy to test a 5YO!)

She suffered from ADEM just as all this Covid kicked off, so hasn’t had an easy time of things.

    Anyone have any (rational) concerns?

After reading this thread I went onto Cazoo to get a value of my 21 Mercedes c300, I’ve had nothing but trouble with Mercedes. This was a replacement for a dodgy E63 they sold me. This one broke down on day 1 of ownership. It’s been fine since but tinged with a bad taste…

Cazoo offered me over what was left to pay, so I’ve just “traded” it in for a nice Peugeot 508 SW half engine/half electric thing

Most hateful – Mitsubishi Lancer auto Estate. Slower than slow! It was 1.5 but felt like it was powered by a mouse, used way too much petrol too

Biggest world of pain – 2014 E63 AMG wagon. Was back at Merc more than with me. Made them take it back and now I’m in a brand new C300d wagon….that broke down within 20 hours….

I’m just getting shot of this pile of crap

    Car

Been nothing but trouble in the 7 months I’ve owned it. All covered by warranty but 5 repairs isn’t good!

Getting a brand new C300 wagon in its place, boring diesel…

Has anyone signed up to Ride The Fred this May?

I’ve been offered (and accepted), a reserve place.

    Chances of it going ahead?
