I ordered stuff from the DE sites over the years, almost always 24hr delivery. Was amazing

A Month ago I ordered some Ritchey Carbon Forks from DE, took 2 weeks to just get to the UK then a week in Customs hell, and then £97 import charge/fees on top.

We’ve really Brexitted ourselves good and proper!  (probably doesn’t add to this thread, just a mini rant!)

Since we’ve all cancelled Zwift now, can you still ride the Alpe Du Zwift on the free 25K miles? Will it save the ride properly? If it does, I guess doing the Alpe twice a month could be good for free

I think you need to look at your riding. (don’t mean that in an arsey way)  Llandegla is pretty smooth. Are you using your arms/legs as suspension?

I’ve got a Saris fork mount thing I’m selling. Comes with a few forks mounts and all the adapters for qr/boost/15mm/12mm forks.

Only after £50 for the lot. Can send pics if interested?

Depending on how family friendly you need, the path along the Lake is fine. It pops out on the road heading out of Llanberis back towards Bangor direction. There’s a cool tunnel you ride through that used to have no lights in. You’d steam into it on your bike and instantly lose your vision.

It’s only a couple of miles

The field! That was ridiculous! Who would even buy such a stupid field?

Lived the long climb up past the reservoir.

Hope someone takes over and carries it on, I’d go back next year. Might even train for it! 😂

Is the registration bit outdoors? Don’t really want to leave my bike outside if I need to go in.

I hope the route is marked out and we don’t have to follow the a4 page of directions that’s been mailed to us? :D

Just entered! Will be a good test of my new Ritchey 29er rigid :)

Wish I’d heard of this event years ago, would have done it every year. Looking forward to it, keep it sunny :)

I had a guy turn up to buy a 3080 Graphics card. As soon as he got on the drive I thought something was suss. Couldn’t figure out why

1st weird thing in hindsight, he asked if I had a dog. We went to my office and I showed him the card running, but he didn’t really seem interested. Offered to buy the whole PC so we agreed on a price. As I was trying to quickly log out of windows he said he was in a rush and would take the card then come back for the PC next day.

He loads up Metro banking app and puts in my details, pays £600 and he has ref number on screen. I’m stood there with my Bank app open, nothing arriving. I keep refreshing……nothing.

He’s still in a rush, so I should just take the ref number off his phone and let him go with the card. I say nothing’s leaving until the money is in my account. We stand around awkwardly for a while, no payment arrives. I say since he’s coming back for the rest of the PC the next day, he can collect the Graphics card too. He says ok, then scuttles off pretty quickly. His facebook profile disappears and I never hear from him.

Think I swerved a good con there! CCTV and door bell camera went up within a few days of that dodgy dude!

I now never give out my full address. I say get to my postcode and message, I’ll then go out and meet them.

Turns out the person who messaged was a young lad, the guy who turned up was a chubby bloke with a cr*p beard

I got hold of a set of the Rock Shox Lyrik Ultimate 27.5 and considering selling them, if anyone’s interested?

The forks I already have aren’t that old, so feel wrong replacing them for the sake of it

I bought one of these through the same deal just after Xmas. Great watch :)

Although weirdly, the silicon strap gave me blisters for the 1st few days

I really like it. It’s not ground breaking, but it’s good to hear some good guitar playing for a change these days

My 27.5 Lyrik Ultimates just arrived. How have we had these for £220 instead of £1000? it’s madness!

The price is up to £600 now, but out of stock

amazing place, no doubt but couldn’t get past the “what setting’s your bike on?” sneaky e-bike comments

I’ve got an Alphard. I think it looks great, in a weird “what is that weird thing?” way

3.0 V6 petrol likes to drink fuel, but to be able to chuck the bikes in the back and still have 6 seats is great! Also having a mobile changing room for after bike rides – amazing!

I’ve just tried to cancel an order, been sat there “processing” for a week. It’s only a Saddle and Bottom Bracket tool for £70, but don’t want to risk losing some money. Weird how all my other recent orders were next day, super quick

I heard the Comedy festival want to take over the camping that Dyfi Enduro used. Which is a massive shame as both events running together was great

I’ve got a 2016 BMW 640D Gran Coupe, lovely car! Looks better than the 2 door version, the proportions are just so right

Can go well when needed, but also fairly efficient-ish

The earlier version is a right dog looking thing!

They’re used for GPU mining. Plug one in to fake that the GPU has a monitor attached. They were needed on the 1st gen 3060 cards to get full hash rate.

When you get to the bottom of this ace steep path, you can either turn right and go up in to the woods to explorer the downhill tracks the kids have made over the years. Or go left , through the gate and right to go down to the road or left to go back up the main path.

I lived 3 miles from Moel-y-Ci as a kid. Was up there almost every night after school on my Marin Bear Valley :)

There’s a fantastic steep path off the very top of Moel-y-ci.

Ride up the main path from the White house, go left at the top to the gate. Do a U turn to the left and go up to the top. This path is fun to ride back down but carry on over to the Trig point. From here there’s a tiny path down the “front” of the hill. The top section is mega steep but it becomes ridable a little way down. It’s very good.

Replying to the Dance Monsters question:

The Judges/Audience saw nothing on stage, there was a screen above so they saw a bit of what was going on. We were backstage with the mo-cap volume and the performers. Some of it was live, other bits of motion pre-recorded.

It was all streamed through Unreal, with motion control cameras etc, all lined up seamlessly with the live action/CG characters.

It was amazing tech to bring it all together

My Dad made the coloured stickers on the front of the headcams. :)

I hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful Dance Monsters on Netflix? I worked on it 😁

Sadly didn’t get to meet Ashley Roberts in person, just drool from off stage

The Elegrannds are 25mpg ish, 3.5 v6 from the 350Z

I’ve got the 3.0 v6 Alphard, bit better MPG. Ran it to Wales and back over the weekend, cost about £70 to do 240 miles.
Not brilliant but it’s not an everyday driver, so acceptable.

The Japanese vans drive so much like a big car, so comfy and relaxing. The Viano was just “vanny”, since it’s built on a van chassis

There’s an issue with the Nissan Elgrands where the middle Cats degrade over time and bits fall out. This debris can then get stuck in the rear cats. There’s talk that this can block the exhaust and then bits can be sucked up into the engine, killing it.

Lots of folk remove the rear cats to get around this potential issue.

I was recently looking at imnported Mercedes Vianos as the UK based ones are all skyhigh mileage and rotten.

Drove a couple but was massively underwhelmed. The import place had a Nissan Elgrand that I had a poke around. Sat in it and was like “yes!” Very nice, took it for a spin and it drove so well! It’s got the 350Z engine!

I drove back home to read up on them, got reading about the Toyota Alphard. Found one local and bought it. It’s great! Not got all the toys that the Nissan had, but less to go wrong.

Drove it to North Wales over New Year with the bike in the back. Was so good to be able to get in it after a ride to get changed. No more teetering in the carpark with a towel round me!
