Oooh are there any photo’s of cake?

Sorry couldn’t make it last night, as Anna said bad things happened to my bike on Saturday which meant I had to give singlespeeding a go.

Will be back when the bike is sorted just need to make sure the frame is ok.

Well on recomendation I bought both Dvds soon after posting, they came on Wednesday (very quick). Only watched the training dvd so far but was really pleased with it, with lots of little pointers I know will come in uselful.

Scenary is great too and really brought back some great memories of a few months ago. It’s got the rocky corner where I scratched my fork (new bike) and the brilliant view down into innerleithen at the end of the ride.

Thanks guys, will be practicing my manuals this weekend.

I think I’m actually a roadie that crossed over onto the Dirt Side.

The boundaries blurred at some point and I’m finding I’m doing more trails than road at the moment.

Now I’ve really got myself confused by buying a singlespeed Tricross.

    Am I Bi-cycle?

I think I used a pair of pliers to stop the metal from from spinning. A right pain in the butt but eventually worked.

I didn’t mean that as a bad thing I looked at them during the summer and at full price (£450) I was very tempted. I wanted a road single/fixed for commuting but this was £50 more than some other bikes I’d looked at. I ended up getting nowt whether Lemond, Specialized, Charge etc…

When pearsons dropped their price to £275 it was an absolute no brainer and well worth a punt.

I wanted a single/fixed bike for riding to work now I have that plus a bike with slightly more relaxed riding position, will take bad tarmac better and can even use it for light off roading. Chuffed to bits already got a 16t sprocket on order so just need to learn to track stand and traffic lights :D

I’m guessing the trail conditions will be mud :-)

    We should be there though.

I bought the 08 from Pearsons a week or so ago. So far I’ve only built it up and ridden it up and down the street but for what I paid for it it’s ace. Will be making it fixed and riding it to work pretty soon hopefully.

What about an Alfine hub gear, would that go on a 120 spacing. Did I see a pompino with that done on the On-One site?

Placed an order for a tricross on Friday so hopefully will have it tomorrow. I might even look into making it fixed.

I’ve got 2 pairs DHB biblongs I’m about the same size as you. Got size small in both and fit fine.

The first pair I actually got for my wife but were too big for her so I happened to try them on and they fitted. Height wise they’re bang on and being lycra are pretty forgiving.

I also own some DHB 3/4 lengths in a size large that I got first, from a roadie background I went 1 size up from normal clothes. These are a large and also fit, maybe a little long but not that you’d notice.

I use a roofrack on my Mk2 Focus, the rack doesn’t use any footings and just bolts in under the door seal. I’ve noticed it’s scratched/rubbed the paintwork a little bit but I always try and do it carefully. I’ve put some thin foam on the area that bolts onto the car and also use some pipe lagging over that area on one side so I can put on by myself without totally b0**0Xing it up. Takes about 5-10mins.

I like the sound of roofrails though as I’m under the impression they seem easier, quicker and less likely hood to scratch your car. Is this a fair comment?

Well after last Monday and Saturdays ice-capades over at Llandegla Anna and I are sitting this week out to let our wounds heal.

Will be back next week though for a mudfest.

Our regards to Debs and hope she has a quick recovery.
