I'm currently browsing this post using my HTC desire. First smart phone and after having it only a week I'm well impressed. Always wanted an iPhone but the price and contract costs were just not worth it.

I'm just down the road and also work where you do. It's a good location for the Peaks, Wales, Cannock, macc forest, Hanchurch and Delamere. Trails last night were in great condition :D Downside is you do need to drive to these places.

Having said that I also ride to work now and again and it's great, also plenty of lanes to have a blast around once you get to know them.

I've recently seen a pompino with a Charlie the bike monger sticker and an On-One Scandal singlespeed outside the gym. I've had to make my tricross fixed so I can be more niche!

If you want to colour co-ordinate you could get a Jagwire set. There's a few on Woolly Hat Shop for about £20.

Aye the lidl toolkit has been going well for 3 years. However, the lidl screw drivers I bought last week are absolutely useless and simply crumble to pieces.

Wedding lists is another classic where JL are great. We had a list at Debenhams and John Lewis.

John Lewis were amazing from going around putting things for the list, getting everything delivered when it's convenient for us and even having to take a couple of items back (slight damage to one item and I think a pizza stone wouldn't fit in the oven). All staff we're brilliant.

Debenhams on the other a right farce, absolute bunch of arse from day one. So much so my wife has vowed never to return to their stores.

My Outlaws have one. If there's just two people and you just wanna pootle it's fine. People in the back is tight and with the back seats up the boot is tiny.

Off road it's ace, light and will go pretty much anywhere.

On the road it's dire, high centre of gravity and narrow track means going round a corner at any speed feels unstable. Max speed (you want to drive at) is probably 55-60mph.

As it's a 1.3 litre it's frugle but tax is still pretty expensive.

Having said all the above it's the car my in-laws drive the most (but the other is an Alfa)

…although the boot was big it didn't seem that wide and was pretty low so stooping to put bikes in and out I figured could give a few back problems.

If lifting a 15kg mountain bike in and out of the boot of a car is likely to give you back problems, are you sure mountain biking is the right sport for you ?

Nice one smart arse! it's not the weight going into the car that the problem it's the awkward stoop, twist and stretch that could cause a problem. I'm yet to replicate that on a mountain or road bike.

I've got a June 2001 to 2004 Haynes manual in very good condition going cheap if you do go down that route.

Yes even after 4 years of living in the house she still can't differentiate between what the thermostat does and what the Central Heating Timer does.

We go through it at leats once a week…Same as closing doors to stop drafts and turning lights off when you leave a room.

Is your garden shed sorry office hooked up to the mains? If so you could look at getting a couple of Home Plugs. One wired into your router in the house and the other wired into your laptop or other wireless router/hub.

Think I paid about £40 for 2 Home Plugs

To be fair I'm from near Huddersfield and have driven a 2WD car around that area during a snowy period a few years ago and yes it was complete arse so I can see why a person would go for a 4×4 over there (small roads and lumpy terrain). Sure a 2WD is ok but I can see a 4×4 being much easier.

I went out to buy a new shape Mondeo estate as my next car, it's huge on the outside but inside the front seats felt really cramped and although the boot was big it didn't seem that wide and was pretty low so stooping to put bikes in and out I figured could give a few back problems.

We then had a look at an X-trail and the space inside was amazing considering it's not that big'a car. Front was nice, spacious and really comfy.

I also go off road a fair bit (I live in the country). It's a great car (sorry).

I really like my x-trail it's been ace over the past few weeks and have had the option of 2WD or 4WD. However I'm not too enamoured with the bellend who owns the 4wd Celica down the road as he insists on wheelspinning every morning and evening in the turning circle polishing the snow/ice making it much worse for everyone else….except me.

No experience but I recall something about checking the fillthathole website (by the CTC) if it's on there the council should know about it and therefore if it's not filled in you might be able to claim.

(the above could be wrong but I'm sure some helpful person will be along soon)

I test drove a Zafira and it was like driving a boat, which was a real shame as the space in the back was great.

I think it's just a case of getting checked out by your Doc and seeing what you need. If you know your gonna have to pay out for treatment or lose money based on not being able to work etc it might be worthwhile.

My wife's a Personal Injury Solicitor so I'll ask her this weekend.

    Bueller….anyone?

So would the Hope Integrated Headset[/url] do the job? It's just that I have a spare 07 cup style hope headset which I tried to use but unfortunately when I put the top cap on there's a gap between it and the frame which makes me wonder if I'll have the same problem buying the integrated version (as I think all parts are the same)?

    Thanks

Yeah I think that happened with mine I just left them on charge for a few hours (err 8.5 I think). Just leave them but check that the battery or charger doesn't get too hot and should be fine.

That's what I did with mine and there's been no problem, but I'm no battery or light guru.

Just come back from pitching the tent(s). Long grass and wet, looks like it could do with a day or so to dry out properly.
