I just used a spanner to loosen the bolt, took it near the end of the thread then put the short socket on it and give it a whack. The RD service guide for revs just said to unscrew the bolt so it covers the end of the valve. Worked on my revelations during the week

    What about the Legend?

I think it sits pretty much in the middle spec wise between the Desire and Wildfire.

I've got a Planet-X Road Ti which I think is ace. I have a few friends with Sabbaths which are all really nice aswell. The new ones with bendy tubes are probably a love/hate thing but certainly a little different.

Is that one of the t-shirts that spell saddle with 3 D's? I thought they were particularly awesome :D

I did it solo on my singlespeed, managed 14 laps. I was hoping for 15 but realized at 1:30am I'd lost 2 chainring bolts so had to faff looking for some replacments (friend sacrificed his for me). I then lost the motivation for it so went to bed for a few hours.

Everyone was really nice and friendly on the course, no 'warrior' types trying to get past at ridiculous moments. Loads of people gave me encouragement (and commented that I must be mental).

Clear Black Iridiums came out the start of July (according to cyclingnews)

Having seen them in the bike shop they seem pretty clear on the display (by a window). The lens is SOLFX so in theory would be a little greyer than a normal transition lens.

I'm a little worried no one has mentioned beer. I think my goals may differ slightly from other peoples.

I've got Grey MAR transition lenses, I think that the Black iridiums have a darker initial tint to them.

    There is a new clear black iririum transition lens though that came out a month or so ago;

Saw a pair of Switch Jackets with them in on Saturday and they looked pretty clear to me. The article says there'll be the same lens for Jawbones.

If you follow the link to Extreme Eyewear you can see all available tints for Jawbones.

Was this glove not featured in a thread last year which ended up discussing spocking?? (May have been on a different bike forum)

Cheers guys, some could thoughts from you. It's a new shape Nissan X-trail, front discs and pads are completed knackered (even I know that) and the rears are about 80% warn.

I just always think that dealerships and national-kwik-hi-fit-q's are just out to make massive profits out of people. Granted they're convenient and some offers work well for some people, but like above if I can get full discs/pads for £150 from what I believe to be reputable source then why am I getting quotes between £500-£660 for the same thing fitted. Crazy I tell you !!!

If I had the time and confidence I'd probably do it myself as it sounds lie I have most of the tools for the job.

    Rad

It mildly annoyed me but started using it when riding with friends just to take the piss. Somehow the word now gets used in everyday life naturally.

    Could be these New Transitions

But from what I've been told they will go much darker in sun but will also be slightly darker than a normal transition when not activated.

(Just ordered some prescription Jawbones with Grey MAR transitions)

Has to be a 2 piece suit so you can let it ride up and separate during a race and let it all hang out. Been to a lot of triathlons as my wife does them and this seems standard issue for most gents :-)

Oooh good thread. I've been looking at prescription Oakleys myself since having a new prescription the other week.

I take transistions are a no go for night riding then? (I know probably a silly question)

I'm looking for a lens which would be good for all conditions for mountain and road riding…so may go for a clear lens and use contacts when it's sunny 8)

Isyte.com seemed to have some very good prices last week but the site is just a mess.

I think I remember reading you* can drill the brace between the seatstays to fit a rear brake then get some vintage-esk Campagnolo cable guides for the top tube.

*Mmm, Sunday afternoon job with a cheapo cordless drill from B&Q going through that nice finish 8O

There's singlespeeds and there's the Pista. It's such a lovely looking bike but it's a track frame so could potentially be lethal and uncomfy.

We have a Ginner Tom cat a few doors down which insists on peeing on our car bumpers. It's really freaking annoying

Llandegla is the best option but be aware that the North Shore entry and exit got cut out last week by the FC. So if your going specifically for that you may be dissapointed.

Don't forget you could get a big slice of cake there aswell

I always think the B17 Narrow is the brooks of choice, it's not massively wide like some of the others and not horrendously expensive like the swallow or swift.

But then again what price do you put on comfort

Hmm I was looking at the Topeak Defender yesterday, couldn't quite convince myself the fixing would be secure.

There's also a Cycraguard, anyone had experience of these?

Well just got them and they're ace. I'm a size 8 shoe so thats a 42 specialized road/mtb shoe and a size 43 shimano.

I reckon I could squeeze a sealskin sock in there but maybe a little tight.

    Think I'm about to move the joint account to the Barclays Additions Active;

Worldwide multi-trip travel insurance for you and your family
RAC Breakdown Cover – comprehensive cover in the UK and Europe
Mobile phone insurance including cover against loss, theft and accidental damage
Cardholder Protection – covers you against the loss or theft of your cards and passport
Extended warranty cover for your domestic appliances
Legal advice helpline – available 24 hours a day
HomeSOS – cover for domestic emergencies
(Removed the crap about overdrafts and online banking)

Has to be worth it for the phone insurance, breakdown cover and card protection alone @ £15 p/m (I do have to confess though I do work for them and will get it cheaper than this).

Montane Featherlite Velo, no issue to fit in a back pocket, really light and pretty darn great when you wear it too. Probably the most breathable jacket of that nature that I've worn on a bike. Also comes in colours other than bright blue or flourescent yellow.

Always worried me when cornflakes gave out free paedometers a few years back. I wore one for a day and it detected 1600, I'd only been to work and the supermarket at lunch :?
