no think he changed it for different gearing, Harmon and Kelly just mentioned that they ‘used’ to change bikes for lightness.

Ha nice one guys seems you saved me a tenner :-)

Fortunately having a browse it appears you can get the classic Casio digicle watch in some groovy colours. Guess I’ll get one of those instead.

Grey MAR transitions go from near clear to shaded (I can night ride in them and they go dark enough to take the edge off really bright sunshine). 8)

To be fair I know a few people who only use the Co2 cartridges and valve adapter for both road and mtb. Small enough to pop in a saddle bag or backpack and good enough for road or mtb.

Think the only potential downsides are if you have a number of flats on a ride or that apparently CO2 somehow manages to escape from a tyre over time quicker than air would, but I have no experience of this cutting a ride short.

I have a Specialized Carbon AirTool on my road bike which seems pretty good. I’ve also just bought one of these which is a hand pump but can also use a cartridge for my commuter.

    On sale @ Wiggle[/url]

Or there’s the air only, non carbon version for £5

I ride night and day with my Grey MAR trasitions and great for both. Used them for a weeks riding in spain and whilst not the darkest they certainly weren’t poor.

There is also the clear black transition which starts a little darker than mine and goes slightly darker. You can see the difference on the transitions website and I’ve also seen them in my LBS.

I did a quick write up of my oakleys when I bought them Here (prescription though so not sure what you can get off the shelf).

Normal TT bars will be fine for a euro age group as there’s no drafting.

My wife was there in Athlone last year and should be in spain again this year. Guess I’ll be bag holding again :(

I built her a bargain bin TT bike (before compo prices went mad) it certainly feels faster than a road bike but can’t quanitfy it other than on a paired 10m time trial last year I had difficulty keeping up with her (which isn’t normally a problem).

I spent last Sunday replacing the entire shed roof due to the chipboard getting very weetabix like. Plyboard is quite expensive but if you can get away with just felting it it’ll cost you about £20 including 13mm nails.

Felt is a PITA as it seems to rip fairly easily

Sounds like a plan but keep her sweet by doing the housework and food shopping whilst she hard at work. She’ll really appreciate it.

Bardolino is one of my favourite places. Hire a hotel beach cruzer (singlespeed, small wheeled fat tyred niche) and ride up the hill to the Zeni vineyard for the squizz at the museum and the free wine tasting.

Riding the bikes just around the shoreline is lovely too but didn;t get chance for any proper biking (mountain or road).

B and Q are also doing a deal where it’s £3 per roll (not sure on sizing though).

I did the same deal through the build centre/npower (£3 per roll plus goggles, mask, gloves) and cost me £27 for 9 rolls of 170mm.

How different is your common or garden uplift trail compared to say the last bit the Innerleithen Red.

Watching DVDs and Eurosport kinda makes you think its just something way out of reach for a ‘normo’ mtber to do. Do you have to jump fireroads from boardwalk and wear those colourful pyjamas?

Great photo’s today. The ones that stick in my head are actually the David Hay and Chabal photo’s. Not in a pervy way as I’m full on hetro but those guys are huge and I have so much respect for how much they must have to train.

Which leads me to wonder, could a guy that big be a good mountain biker OR are there any pro mountain bikers that are that bulky (as opposed to ripped racing snakes)?

I did our bathroom a couple of years ago using bathstore. I think it was better quality than B&Q and as they always have a sale on you’ll probably find you get a great saving on a couple of items. Then a few weeks later some of the items you bought full price are in a new sale.

I also did a bit of shopping around so mixer shower, shower screen I got elswhere but bath, basin, loo have all been good.

I did have to send a bath back when first delivered as had a blemish but don’t remember a lot of hassle to get it swapped.

If your doing the bathroom yourself or buying the bits in for a plumber I don’t think you can go too far wrong but shop around and know how much things should cost.

I’d say try and get one of the leaflets which have a map of all the waypoint markers.

There may still be the 2 mtb routes (which are fireroad based). Start on one of those and if you see some tire tracks into the forest just follow them. You can’t get that lost in Delamere at worst you just turn back.

If you come out onto a fireroad you’ll soon find a number waymarker which you can find on your map.

It’s good fun, go explore (just don’t give a definate time to your missus of when you’ll be back).

We recently bought a Bissell for the shizzel…

It’s the red lift off one which was only about £80 and it certainly does suck (in a good way…..but not the rude way).

Quite big a little bit heavy but has the advantage you can lift the main part off vacuming the stairs or curtains etc.

We got it based on a recommendation from a friend who’s is going well into it’s 2nd year.

I bought a Phillips from argos last Saturday for £16. Seems ok with a few attachments as well. I see these things as consumables nowadays after numerous hair clippers breaking after a year or so.

My x-trail is working well so far but not sure if it classes as a proper 4×4 or not. It has tinted windows, alloy wheels, 173 horses and in car gadgets. But also has sensible tyres a big load space for bikes and camping equipment or trips to the tip.

When looking at buying it the other options were a mondeo estate or zafira (yawn).

I got some Yokohama geolanders put on my x-trail a few months ago. They seem really good and were about £105 per tyre through mytyres.co.uk (plus some quidco).

Thanks guys, seems a friend of a friend has a flat with a parking space and no car.

Bikechain thanks awfully for the offer of keeping the bike at your shop but no need (probably try and pop on for a browse though).

I’m a 42 and bought a pair in 43. I haven’t needed a thick sock (got last crimbo) just a pair of woolly boollies and absolutely fine.

At the weekend I accidently rode into the bog at the bottom of Hollins Cross (peaks). My left foot sunk shin deep into it and they didn’t let any water in at all.
