Bin the pads not the whole lot! But it really is more than a little bit of squeel, it’s deafening. Only happens at lower speeds too, like a resonance thing.

The only idea I’ve got left is to put the pads in the oven or try some copper slip on the back.

It’s one of those things that happens occasionally but normally sorts itself out. This time it seams persistant.

    Another vote for the mju.

Ours has been strapped to a seakayak being exposed to salt water. USed when scubadiving, taken white water kayaking, my GF has a great video of her dropping it while galoping on a horse. I use it biking loads.

It’s hard as nails. You do have to make some compromises though. Not much zoom and not the greatest picture quality. I have considered buying a better quality camera (lens and zoom) for the less destructive holidays.

I’ve come from years of hardtail riding so it always feels soft. I leave propedal on permanently unless it is a really long rough descent. So the default is on and occasionally off.

Just a bit of personal experience –

I ride with a compact, I actually have no idea what the smallest sprocket is on my casette though. 25mm tyres. I never really found I’ve spun out even hitting the mid 40s (mph) point.

Our typical crit like chaingangs hit 30mph (not including sprint) but typically average 26-28mph. Again I’ve never found myself lacking in gears (just legs). Normally have 2 or 3 smaller sprockets to move into.

I can sprint to about 35mph although I rarely manage to look down at the speedo during a sprint.

Personally I’d have a go at one first because you may just be wasting your money for marginal gains. And after 1 hour of racing you may find you aren’t even in the running for the sprint.

I often think people suggest standard doubles because that what they think you should be riding rather than what may actually be more suitable.
