I’ve been building stone walls out of rough stone that all needed shaping with a big hammer.
It was 32C in the shade…..I was not working in the shade
Very little PPE today, Shorts and boots and gloves. I have strange tan lines 😂

    Milton sterilising fluid.
Squirt it on, leave it half an hour, wipe it off. Grouting comes up like new

Just make sure you open all the windows and doors and try not to breathe too much

    Swansea.
20mins to the surfing on the Gower, 20mins to Afan, 45mins to bike park Wales. Black mountains and Gower for endless natural trails
It’s not a very nice city though but there are lots of pubs and it has a five mile beach

There is a ball in a tube, when compressed gas goes in, the ball is pushed in towards the bottle allowing gas to flow past. Once the gas is disconnected the pressure inside the bottle pushes the ball back to the end of the tube sealing the gas in by its own pressure.

That’s my understanding. It may not be quite right but it explains a self sealing pressurised container

I’m a self employed builder. Managed to finish off the job I was on yesterday. All my work booked in for the next few months has been cancelled or put back by the customers.

Probably have enough money for 2 weeks.

Applying for Universal credit is very difficult, especially since I’m living in temp accommodation following a relationship breakup.

It’s been a very hard winter for me due to the weather so I have nothing left in the pot. Work was just picking up again.

Not sure what to do tbh

I’m a stonemason. I don’t want tips, I want happy customers who recommend me to their friends and colleagues.
That and quick payment once my invoice is in, by the end of a job I’m usually flat broke from paying for materials and labourers.

That said a cold beer with the customer at the end of the job is always nice.

They are happy living outside down to -30 and can run 100 miles a day for 10 days straight. Does that sound like a pet for you?
A black lab cross would be my choice. Maybe a collie for the legs and a lab for the house dog part. Gun dogs have been bread to lay by the fire until it’s time to go shooting then be active and attentive for the few hours you are out doing something
    Just my opinion of course

At home I’ve been drinking pints of cold fruity/hippy tea. Make it with a third of a pint of hot water, then filling up with cold and ice.
Refreshing and lots of variation without being overly sweet.

I’ve been substituting pheasant into a pork pie recipe. Add blackberry jelly it’s great.

You should take the thighs too though. Don’t pluck or draw any of it, just skin them and take the meat off

My mother went to see an osteopath after years of getting nowhere with a bad back. He had a look at her standing up, told her to get whatever was wrong with her left foot fixed and come back if that didnt work. Didn’t charge her.

Got some tiny verrucas she wasn’t really aware of fixed at the gp and it sorted her back out. Didn’t have to go back to the osteopath.

I’m not sure if that counts as an osteopath’s treatment working or not 🤔

A friend of mine got his email somehow and asked him if he would send his girlfriend a message for Xmas since she was a huge fan.
He rang her up on Christmas Eve and chatted to her for ages.
During the conversation she mentioned her favourite poem and the next day he sent her a video of him reading said poem and wishing her a merry Christmas.

I always thought that was a really nice thing for him to do

    I’ve had a 2008 crafter for about 5 years.
    I hate it.
Always had mercs before but bought this as they are a bit cheaper than the mercs for a similar age.

Not only is it really hard to work on but it is rusting badly (and I’m used to sprinters)
Had a ton of stuff fixed every year and it’s spent 4 months parked up earning me no money. When I finally get it out of limp mode I’m selling it and buying a pre 2006 mwb sprinter

Here is just one example. To replace a leaking sump gasket you have to remove the flywheel as there are bolts behind it.

40 degrees C Seems a bit hot to wash the dog. They I’ve always found they behave much better being washed in cooler water.

I think its down to not being used to it, because their body temp is warmer then ours so a shower temp should feel cooler to them but all of my dogs have hated warm showers.

I’ve had a knife taken off me by the police. Was pulled over in the van coming off a building site, seemed like a routine kind of stop. I had an opinel no.7 (so under size but does lock) in the front of the van with me, it had just come out of my pocket and was covered in plaster dust.

Was a bit gutted but all he did was take it off me, not so much as a telling off. I did point out that the van was full of much more dangerous tools but I don’t argue with coppers, anything for an easy life.

Was sent on my way to buy another opinel no.7 ready for work the next day

The big cat expert from bristol that came and took print casts when my neighbour’s foal was killed said they have been breeding wild in the UK since Victorian times.
From the footprints he said it was a leopard or panther.
    This was in south/mid Wales.
The lacerations down the mare’s flank were pretty sobering to see

    The Firewood Poem

Beechwood fires are bright and clear
If the logs are kept a year,
    Chestnut’s only good they say,
If for logs ’tis laid away.
Make a fire of Elder tree,
    Death within your house will be;
But ash new or ash old,
Is fit for a queen with crown of gold

Birch and fir logs burn too fast
Blaze up bright and do not last,
it is by the Irish said
    Hawthorn bakes the sweetest bread.
Elm wood burns like churchyard mould,
E’en the very flames are cold
But ash green or ash brown
Is fit for a queen with golden crown

    Poplar gives a bitter smoke,
Fills your eyes and makes you choke,
Apple wood will scent your room
Pear wood smells like flowers in bloom
Oaken logs, if dry and old
    keep away the winter’s cold
But ash wet or ash dry
a king shall warm his slippers by.

My old lab used to get ear infections a lot, probably from sticking her head underwater in murky swamps all the time. Occasionally she would tilt her head a bit, I would clean it with olive oil with a drop or two of lavender oil in it. Dogs ears have a 90 degree bend before the ear drum so you can get right in there with a jay cloth or similar.
Would always clear up after a day or two but after 48hrs cleaning twice a day I would take her to the vet. Vet never did anything, just told me to clean it twice a day

Mid top skate shoes are particularly bad for this.

Seen my mate get his right shoes caught on his left laces and belly flop in the middle of the pub. Laughed my ass off.

Then it happened to me in the woods only I grabbed a tree on the way down which somehow ended with me having both shoes attached together with all my weight on them. Stuck like some kind of stupid clown alone in the woods

Chewing on a frozen carrot can help numb the gums and help the teeth break through.
Obvs no good while asleep though.

Despite the risk of sounding like a hippie a few drops of lavender oil on the pillow helps them into a deeper sleep, might help
