If it got scratched I doubt you be able to polish or compound it out to blend as you would do on a gloss finish.
Not sure how susceptible it would be to bird shit either……

I too had my second vaccination today. Brought forward 2 weeks .
Had very mild after effects after the first so hopefully will be ok this time .
There can’t be many over 50s left still to have their second now…?

I tend to be a minimalist when I run. I hardly ever where a jacket unless it’s sub zero as I tend to run hot and if it’s raining I’ll still be in shorts and vest.
Generally the most I run with is my house/car keys which go in a shorts pocket.
Occasionally I use a flip belt if I need to take my phone or a gel which works quite well and I barely notice them.

Size guide had been spot on for the last two pairs I’ve ordered.

My go to is the Turtle wax hydrophobic sealant.
Car now has a decent level of protection such that it doesn’t get too dirty between washes .
Ten minutes with this and car is nicely protected and has a good level of gloss.

    Retro power
    Carfection – Henry Catchpole
Car wow – even though the drag race thing is getting a bit repetitive now
Tyrell’s classic garage – mostly Italian classics , Ian is a great presenter and really knows his cars.

    I have a Supersix and a Defy.
The Supersix is as comfortable as the Defy , very stable and a lot more engaging to ride .

    @rotorstern

@mrkebowski You would think these people from point 2 only have to look at what is happening in India right now to see the consequences of not having strict lockdowns.

To see how these people “think” you only need to visit any of the Vaccination posts on the NHS FB page where the anti lockdown/anti vax movement are blaming the crisis in India on the vaccine itself.

My GF is currently driving a 2003 Focus we got her for £350.
It’s gone through 2 MOTs and nearly 3 years with barely anything spent on it.
If it died tomorrow it’s cost would be about the same as 1 month’s depreciation on my car.
Bangernomics is great when you find the right car.

Last year I bought some HT components PA12 flats for my do it all hybrid.
They don’t have replaceable pins but decent wide platform and were £20 .

    I have a complex prescription a d wear varifocals.
I have a pair of single vision inserts (old prescription) in a cycling style frame and a new pair of non cycling prescription varifocal sunglasses.
The inserts get fogged up, the new sunglasses were purchased for driving but work ok for rides.
In time I think I will get new wraparound cycling glasses made up with a single vision tint.
Don’t really need varifocals for cycling.

I have an Epic bleed kit for guides which have this. Have you tried them? I think they sell them as spares?

It’s quite normal to overlay existing felt, provided that you’ve established the existing is well bonded and that there’s no trapped water underneath in the existing substrate. Just cut some cores where you suspect water ingress to check condition of the deck.
Why do you want to use a pond liner/EPDM?
I have seen some really bad installations of EPDM. Not many seem to be able to install it well, trickier to detail and do laps.

Modern felt is good for 30 years.Get advice from a reputable manufacturer like Iko .

Use a PIR board for insulation,Recticel works well.
Most new builds and commercial re roofs use a Pu adhesive to fix the boards. Soudal is perhaps the most commonly used.

A 1980 Renault 5 . Comedy values of lean when cornering, inaccessible plugs as longitudinal engine in front engines, fed car , bodywork as thin as Bacofoil and made lighter by corrosion, interior by Fisher Price.
Had numerous electrical issues and sold within 3 months.

Great to ride but I sometimes miss the simplicity of old bikes but get confused by the plethora of standards for parts ,plus cost of parts these days.
Grew up with steel bikes, with Cottered cranks, crap side pull brakes and narrow gear ranges. They were easy to fix though!

I always buy saucony guides which juts work for me. Normally I buy the previous year’s model in whatever lurid colour is left over and pay £60-70 rather than the £120 that they are new ad I get thorough 2 or 3 pairs a year.
This year though I have noticed that there is a distinct lack of bargain running shoes available from my go to websites of Sportshoes or start fitness.
I think everyone started running during lockdown and there’s no excess stock from last season.

Of current cars very few are classy. Most have lines that are toofussy , have too many fake vents, exhausts and creases .
A couple of notable exceptions would be the Alfa Giulia and Merc C class coupe.
The golden era for classy cars was definitely the 60s . Lots of lovely coupes with flowing lines , E type , DB5, Miura, etc.

As a weekend dweller of Portishead I’d go with konagirls suggestions.
I love wandering around the Harbourside area and always discover something new each time I visit.
Clifton is nice for a mooch around too.
If you want to break up the journey on the way back there’s a new Ibis on Portishead, 5 minutes from j19.
A lot quieter than Bristol but you can have a nice stroll around the Marina and there’s some good places to eat.

Been through similar myself 10 years ago.
We had been together for 14 years, had 3 kids together but things hadn’t been right for 5 years prior to us separating.
Suggested counselling but it was obvious my ex wasn’t interested in saving our relationship and actually once I realised this I too it was like a massive weight had been lifted.
All the stuff about finances and where to live falls into insignificance when you know you can be happy again.
10 years on I’m divorced and have been in a new relationship for 8 years.
Everything felt insurmountable at the time and I had the same thoughts about children and somewhere to live.
We divorced amicably, sold the family house she downsized , I found a cheap place 5 miles away which the kids can come to and everyone is happy.
Far better for both parents to be happy than to stay together in a negative, love less relationship.
Kids will be happy if you are happy.
They get on great with my new partner , her 2 kids and with their mum’s new partner.
I think for my kids it wasn’t too traumatic as they were fairly young at the time so not so fearful of change.
Time passes so quickly , if it’s time for you to both move on , do so and look to the future not the past.

When will we see clear signs of the effects of the vaccination in terms of reduction in deaths, hospitalisation and perhaps even transmission ?
Seeing reductions of all those criteria in the figures now but it’s not clear how much is due to lockdown measures and how much is due to vaccination.
Are they deliberately holding back information on this until Bozo unveils his lockdown master plan on 22nd February ….?

Seems supermarkets are a concern within government.Makes sense given higher risk of indoors transmission, numbers and frequency of visits.
They were much better during the first lockdown at enforcing the one way systems and numbers inside.

I’d really struggle without my bubble. My bubble is my GF who I don’t live with.
Currently live alone and working from home.
    I’m already struggling with anxiety.
Maybe they could keep the bubble but make it a more formal arrangement so people can’t abuse it.
With regards to exercise even Chris Whitty says likelihood of outdoor transmission is very low and unlikely to make much difference to the R.
    Issue is still indoor transmission.
Would be better to tighten up on indoor mask wearing, more protocols in work places and shops.

@dantsw13 there was a lot of focus on Kent before Christmas , and that was where the new strain was first noticed. I wonder if Kent are a couple of weeks ahead of the rest of the country?
Would be interesting to see stats for cases, hospital transmission and deaths and compare to rest of the country.

With no exams , my kids basically will have no sense of purpose now until they go to sixth form or Uni in the autumn.
I believe there will be some announcement tomorrow on what form the alternative arrangements will be but hope they find a fairer way of assessment following last year’s debacle.
They will need to carefully consider how they fill the gap for year 11 and 13 kids from whenever restrictions are eased up to the summer holidays.

Double whammy in our house. Daughter was due to do GCSES and son due to do his A levels.
Daughter did at least get to do her mocks before Christmas.

I’m relatively local, just over the border in Bedfordshire but lived in Herts and ride around that way.
Not sure if they still exist but there was a group OTT mtb that used to do a Sunday morning ride from Harpenden.
If you check their website I think they show some of their routes.
I used to ride a lots around the Ayots, Kimpton, Wheathampstead area.
Then there’s Ashridge to explore to.

I’ve been struggling a bit the last couple of weeks but this puts things into perspective. I have followed your struggles on here over the last few years and have so much respect for the strength and courage you have shown.
I am sending you every ounce of positivity that I can muster your way.
I have several friends that have lost close ones to suicide and would definitely recommend charities such as the Ollie Foundation for assistance.
Once again I’m bowled over by the generosity and thoughtfulness of the folk on this forum.

I saw this article about how quickly Israel are rolling out the vaccine .
We could learn a lot from them.

Had to laugh about twisted pencils comment about photos.
My youngest always asks “Why are there so many photos of my brother and sister but not me?”
She also tended not to get her nappy changed until it was almost down to her knees ……
All of this probably shaped her and she’s ended up probably the toughest and feistiest . She’s the youngest but also the one most likely to get her own way!
When they were younger we also noticed how when there were 2 it was easy but 3 resulted in more conflicts!

    I have 3 now aged 17,15 and 13.
With pretty much a 2 year gap between each, it was pretty tough when they were little but now they are older I love having 3 .
There are some practical considerations to consider not least we needed to get a people carrier when they were little , parents were less keen on Baby sitting and keeping tabs on 3 when you go to the park with them and there’s just you could be interesting!
I only lost the youngest the once…….
As they get older though , I found they have tended to look out for each other more and offer support to each other.
I’m one of 3 myself and I quite like being part of a bigger family.

If proven this is quite significant. Unfortunately it seems increasingly likely that schools will close again.

My 86 year old Dad is in hospital at the moment.
Went in with a bladder infection last week then on 5th day tested positive .
He has had it for two days now.
Hospital says he has a mild case and wants to send him home to his flat where he is likely to transmit it to my 84 year old mum where there is no chance of self isolation and my mum simply isn’t fit enough to care for him.
Dad had high blood pressure and is diabetic as is my mum.
Not sure how we are going to solve that one.

Just found out this evening my 86 year old dad has tested positive whilst in hospital getting treatment for other ailments.
Tested on admission on Wednesday which was negative, then Friday negative but positive today.
This just days after my dad’s cousin died with Covid 19.
