We had Khars engineered oak in kitchen, dining room and hall 8 years ago, never had a problem. Yes it scratches and dents if you abuse it, but normal wear and tear just adds to the character.

Just found almost empty jar of Marmite & Guinness in the back of the cupboard, best before is/was Sept 08! Having it on toast for lunch, tastes ok, but will I get food poisoning?

    Saved myself £310.51!
The clasp on my watch broke a year or more ago. Dunhill wanted £317 8O to replace it. I managed to pick up bracelet on eBay and fixed the broken bit myself.
Well chuffed. saved money and got my watch back :D

I switched a couple of months ago after 30 odd years of cartridge razors and its been great. Whether I shave every day (rare) or once/twice a week – no nicks, no irritation and no clogged blades; and after the initial cost its dirt cheap.

The brakes on my first couple of bikes were utter shite and I invariably used the toe of my school shoes as a reliable substitute! My mum used to go bonkers.
40 years on I’ve got proper brakes and they’re great; they stop me every time that that I use them early enough and I get none of the parental backlash.
I recommend them over Freeman Hardy & Willis uppers any day.

Somewhere a tsunami is about to wipe out whole villages! And all you’re worried about is where you’re going to ride tomorrow. ;-)

Been looking at the Merkurs recently and can’t work out the numbering of the different models. How does a 30c differ from a 34c or 38c Do the numbers relate to anything or are they just arbitrary?

The first appears to be a Slippery Jack (Suillus Luteus)
The second could be a Yellow Russula (but then again it could also be one of the Milk Caps), I’m happy to be corrected!

The firm seems to be doing ok. They reckon that she needs to do the extra hrs to complete all her work because one of the other girls ends spending time on it. The job was originally advertised as f/t but she negotiated shorter hrs before she started. Financially it makes no sense for us with the increased child care costs.
