Heading out of Hampshire this Saturday to give the new Sherpa it’s first proper outing. Going into the North Downs somewhere near Washington apparently. Some runner friends are sorting the route and they run while I ride.

Does it work? does it fall over when someone brushes past it? should I attach it to the wall to be safe? Would I be happy to get it as a Christmas pressie?

    Ta very much

Oh, I missed the point of my post after that ramble. Make sure you get a 2nd and even 3rd opinion on the asthma diagnosis, they did a proper job on me and the accurate measuring device gave completely normal readings versus the plastic hand held tube they diagnose you with at the GP

A cpl of years ago I had a chesty cough I couldn’t shift, it was diagnosed as adult onset Asthma. Had the blue and brown inhalers and never once needed the blue, fast forward to last August and I had a chesty cough i couldn’t shift and i called in the private healthcare. After a million tests including the following: Barium swallow, sputum test, MRI with blue dye pumped round (horrible feeling), exercise test all wired up and masked up on bike, various chest x-rays, and a load of lung volume tests. THE CONCLUSION? I don’t have asthma and they have no idea why i am coughing a lot.

It went away after about 6 months and then about 2 weeks ago it started again, so that’s 6 months after the last issue! I think there is just weird crap going around nowadays which is an advancement on the common cold.

“How does Danny Hart sit down with balls that big” best quote ever 🙂

Other vid is scary as anything, the road jump is ridiculous but the thing that gets me is the narrow nature of the other sections, I’d be hard pushed to stay on the trail it’s so narrow.

I get emails from this bunch and keep getting tempted with the single malts, they have rum and gin as well.

Another AutoAid customer here and have used them 3 times now and never had a problem. I think the cost is around 40 quid a year and I just had a £140 tow bill claim back from them so well worth it. Only downside is the form filling to make the claim as it’s not done by email.

I am now imagining poor people in therapy due to the trauma the rocky steps have inflicted upon them

Had an email today relating to the financial ins and outs of what has been going on. I am sure you have all had the same but if not then let me know and I will post the links. Interesting point they made in thesis body of the email was ” the area you are referring to is not called Rushup Edge but Chapel Gate” is this correct? So many posts to keep up with I am probably way behind with this info, taken them an age to reply to my email mind.

We have gravel, it stays put in the driveway but does tend to need a rake out to even it back up from time to time. I won’t change it as it s a good security addition as no one can come up to the front of the house without scrunching. But of a pain when the foxes are active though as they scrunch a lot at about 4am

After reAding the other LBS bashing thread I thought it unfair that this one only got 3 posts so I am breathing new life into it.

just found this on the interweb

Sounds like a reasonably common issue and an expensive one if you don’t get lucky

It’s the 1.9TDI engine, same issue Monkey?

Yes Northwind, but I won’t mention the Internet or the cult, maybe suggest it was a conversation at work

Monkey- what makes you ask that?

Northwind – noticed a strange smell after the service but thought it may just be oil from the change, went back a week later to pay which is when the leak was discovered but the location of the leak was wrongly identified.

Tbh you have all pretty much backed up what I was thinking, total bad luck on our part and we will just have to see what the bill comes in at and deal with it.

Thanks for the comments, it will be an interesting conversation with my wife now 🙂

Ok, had the ultrasound on Friday and it showed up as a ruptured ligament. I don’t think this means actually severed maybe just a bit broken? Haven’t googled yet but just off to do so, probably tell me death is imminent.

Just bought a green Sherpa and it’s almost finished being built, hopefully get the forks on next week and will report back on the ride. It looks gorgeous if that helps, paint job is great.

Anything on a buffet. I could consume the contents of a savoury buffet in minutes if I wasn’t held back by societys need to make us share with others. Found a lovely picture of one with olives, mini burgers, chicken strips, samosas, and breaded prawns. Don’t know how to post images though so I am just going to drool over it alone.

Just got a Stanton Sherpa frame built up, just waiting for the forks to return from a service so can’t comment on the ride from personal experience however they seem to get decent reviews.

First ride out in a over a week tonight and had to borrow a bike from BigShep! I have 2 bikes now and neither are working, this is one problem when you decide to buy a 29er and steal bits off the 26er for the build and then find that the one part that you don’t have are forks!

First time on a hardtail for ages and it was rather good, on one inbred was the loan bike and although it felt very different round corners, it certainly was less of a slog on the hills than the FS. Can’t wait to get the new 29er up and running now, should get the forks back next week 🙂
