I have been using Pact Coffee. You can get it roasted and delivered within 2 days so it’s pretty fresh and they will either supply beans or ground to your requirement. I have been using the option which gives you a different bean each time and she have been to my taste and others not so much.

The website is easy to use and you can stop your regular order anytime and then restart at the press of a button.

This is getting interesting, so I have always thought the ‘smart’ TVs thing was a bit gimmicky but I do love the idea of having the tv connected to the rest of the devices in the house. We currently have a 6 month old iMac, and iPad, various windows laptops and kindle fires. Bearing in mind all these have Bluetooth and wireless capability I s there a simple way of connecting the whole lot? I don’t know why I would want to do this yet, it was a comment by someone earlier that started me thinking.

I wish I got this much help when posting on the bike part of the forum 🙂

I think shinyites was getting the better of me after seeing the stuff from the show, I have calmed down now and agree with the comments about just getting the one I like best at a price I can live with.

I have done the same on a number of occasions, from memory it tastes ok but maybe a bit watery, you won’t die.

Cmon, so end tell us what a booster is 🙂

What if I’m just a novice, do I need to have lessons before I ride on your trail? Or just expected to rebuild it when I break it?

    (WTF is a ‘booter’?)

    +2 ^^^

And what all the others said about priorities, 2 children and their activities take up most of my weekend and then work takes up the week. This situation leaves very little time for riding let alone building which I know bugger all about, that said I will at some point in the next 6 months drag the children up to QECP for one or two of the dig days where my activity can be controlled and monitored. If it’s not I might inadvertently build a booster in the wrong place 🙂

That sounds like a new caliper to me, as you can probably tell in the way I got into this situation, I am far from a bike mechanic

Glad you got through it, shitty thing to happen any time of the year but at least you’re not tucked up in a hospital bed with lovely dry trails outside. Fingers crossed for a full and speedy recovery in time for the cracking spring and summer we will have next year 🙂

Peter, rotor should be straight it’s brand new and the rubbing is constant all the way round so I think it’s the set up of the pads or was wondering if rotor could’ve too thick? Compatibility between avid and shimano?

Andy, can you do this without worrying about bleeding etc?

Fever Tree seems to be the standard highlandman. Just seems to be cleaner in taste and not take over from the gin.

Had a swig of the Single Malt Gilt Gin a moment ago, no tonic just straight up. Very very smooth.

halfway through a bottle of Single Malt Gin at the moment, it’s very nice. They also do a vodka if thats your thing.

QE was the venue this Saturday, had a last minute call from a running friend who wanted a run then a coffee so off I went. First time with the Sherpa off some small drops, have to say I prefer the Rocket on those sections, everything else was lovely until I lost the back brake. Bit hairy at times on the 2nd half of the red route with mud and no back brake. Fun though.

I enjoyed th ride but didn’t fid the woods. Met a man with a map around the right point and we located the woods on the map and also located a danger zone which mentioned guns. I pootled along the SDW towards Devils dyke in the hope of an obvious detour towards certain death by firing squad but nothing apart from a hunt with hounds not guns.

Don’t doubt the mind fu#k it can be for the mum and be ready to support her fully despite you wondering where the rational women you married had disappeared to. This may not happen, but it might.

Don’t be proud, 2nd hand clothes from friends with slightly older children are a massive pound saver.

Watch them a lot when they sleep, it’s very very therapeutic, and will make you sob like a baby sometimes.

Go on a journey and find a source of energy and harvest it.

Take photographs of you both in the first week, you will laugh hysterically in years to come when you see how sh1t you looked due to tiredness.

Generally try to enjoy the experience and remind yourself how lucky you are every time you yearn for childless times .

Now that is my idea of hell – forced dress-up, I bloody hate it.

Come round and have a party – great….

…however, to be allowed entry, you must dress like a tit and waste at least a day finding something that shows you’ve at least put some effort into looking like a tit.

    I’ll pass thanks

This +1. I actually quite like dinner parties with close friends, and we have them and go to them at least once a month. Never an issue with dress code and all very relaxed.

Had the ‘announcement’ at our place 2 weeks ago. 17 people affected and 5 redundancies, i had 2hrs of panic as we had just agreed an extension with a builder, i was fortunate that my role didn’t change enough to warrant a redundancy. I still don’t understand why it always seems to happen at christmas, our financial year runs from sept to sept.

now trying to help a colleague prepare to apply for one of the new jobs, they are holding up ok but very very upset by it all.

OP – glad it worked out well for you, take the opportunity to address your t’s and c’s and maybe you can come out of it really well 🙂

In the end I just went onto the Waitrose website and chose a selection of interesting beers. Might have cost me more but I don’t think so, delivery was free and 15 quid off for first order.

I was pulled over early one morning and the conversation went something like this:
Officer- do you know why I stopped you?
Me – No, sorry, do I have a brake light out?
Officer – No, think about what you just did.
Me – I honestly have no idea what I have done wrong officer.
Officer – do you have any identification on you?
Me – no sorry, only a debit card, but I only live over there *point to my house 100yds away* I can get some id for you.
Officer – don’t worry about it, is this your car? What colour were the traffic lights on as you went through?
Me – Amber well possibly just green and then Amber.
Officer – EXACTLY! you drove through on Amber.
Me *looking completely perplexed* ok, but I honestly thought it was fine to drive through as it was changing to Amber.
Officer – no, you must stop, I will let you off with a warning this time, have a good ride, where you off to?
Me – seriously you can’t go through on Amber, Surrey Hills.
Officer – seriously don’t push your luck. Enjoy your ride and don’t fall off.

I sent a message about the kegs they sell, and it took a long time to get a response but they apologised for the delay and said it wasn’t their usual standards but we’re I credibly busy at the moment. Seemed genuine. I am not going to order as I am pretty sure I can get Leffe for the same price in Tesco but if I had any experience of the other beers they do I would be on it like a shot with the fiver delivery.
