It was more about the chancebf the bike falling to pieces rather than the type of bike to use. I am doing 40 miles on the home built hard tail tomorrow so if it survives that I am going to go with it for the same reason you mention Waller.

For me it probably will be chief. Also undecided on bike choice, safe shop built full sus, or untested over distance home built hard tail.

Ahhhh, now why didnt that come up when I put his name into the search box? I am obviously as skilled with technology as I am with seat posts ( see other thread tonight if you want to mock)

Boing. Anyone have any ideas, just had a go at botching the jump stop but alas we have no joy.

Well now I feel like a right numpty don’t I! Just went to pop the new SLR seat only to find it has a monolink fitting and I have standard seat posts. Back in the post to On One tomorrow.

Blimey Brant that certainly is botching. About to be fair if I have a bash guard on the outside, which I do, then I guess it only needs to be basic to stop it coming off.

Thanks, could be an option but, hmmmm, costly? My Jump Stop cost me 4 quid and i am massively over budget for the build.

Oh! And I want to avoid attaching to the BB if at all possible as the LBS said removal of the BB is a bit of a sod.

I have a spoon and it gives me numbness in my man area after a while. I have to angle it down to minimise the problem, other than that to good on the backside.

Link not working messiah. Even tried to sign up for some skills coaching with the chap in Hertfordshire but nothing available until October. I think I will continue with the avoidance technique going forward.

I was being a wuss. I bottled it on a larger drop off 3 times previous to this one and when I went round this one I looked at it and thought ‘FFS man it’s tiny’ so I went back and rode it. As I went over all I remember is the bike seat coming up and whacking me in the knads.

Rebound is set in the center, I thnk I am just crap.

Now I know why no one is taking any interest in my seat posts and bars for sale on here
    😥

Nice to hear people helped out, had a small tumble myself on Sat if it had been at a higher speed it would have been nasty. would like to think the same kindness would come my way in that situation.

    Hope you heal quick.

Awesome, thanks chaps. If this ever gets built to working I will pop up a pic to show you your hard work.

    Cheers

Cheers both. It does bolt on up to a point but then the caliper interferes with the disk, it’s all just to crammed in. Are the IS mounts just one type or are they specific to style of caliper or frame? I am going to have lots of mused parts to sell at the end of this due to poor knowledge when purchasing.

Good news is that I have got myself a 2nd hand hollowtech crank set 🙂
