Well the bike survived todays ride, not looking forward to the conversation with the other bike shop next week.

Despite my wife suggestion that I may be subjected to a deliverance style assault if i met a stranger from the internet in a wood, or worse they might mug me for my bike! I survived my meeting with Jambalaya and Mark with little more than a few scratches to my calfs.

Lovely bluebells on display and some interesting trails to be found i think. A few too many trees were blocking the trails today to get any real idea of what these woods could be like but we saw signs that riders have been in before and created some stuff.

Good to meet you Jambalaya and hopefully get out again somewhere soon.

So how does a thread about leg tatoos go for pages and pages and a good news story gets 6 posts? Sad times 🙂

Hi Jambalaya, would be good if you mentioned the recommendation if for no other reason than for them to see the benefits of the good customer service. Dropped you a mail about tomorrow morning.

No, not fitted by the same shop. Not comfortable flaming a shop for bad work so not saying who but they were not near Fareham.

Mine has been in the bike shop all afternoon due to a botched shock 🙁

    johnj2000

Looks like i have a bigger problem. Wishing I had never bothered trying to get the minute bit of play that the bike shop pointed out fixed. Got the shock back on and it all seems way too tight and the shock isn’t extending properly when i sit on the bike too set it up. Looks to me like the LBS hasn’t fitted the bushes correctly. This could be my bank holiday rides screwed. Not happy.

So get it wrong and I will die 🙂

Ptr, would that be buying a kit and fitting or actually designing the conversion myself? The former I could probably manage the latter not so

Not that many around though in diesel format, I am guessing petrol is popular in Japan. Will keep searching and see if there are any importers on the south coast.

Under 5’s get you on first I think without paying for priority. We have risked it a cpl of times now both children are above 5 and never had a problem. Put it this way, nobody will want to share a journey with other peoples children sat next to them so the will swap. Or you could just stump up the 3 quid for a stress free start to the hols.

Just started looking at those Nissan elgrand, lot cheaper and seem to be very well kitted out.

Well well well, we might be back on. Following my rather negative discussion last week I took some advice from you lot and pitched it as a lifestyle opportunity. During a cpl of hour drive to herts today we passed a few T5’s and conversation started to go well. We are now have an agreement to look at some with the view to keeping for 6 months and selling if we don’t get on with it.

Now the hunt for a spec that suits starts.

Daughter was 5 and just got on a mates bike when they were trying to learn and just did it. Son was 6 and I thought he would never get it as he had such strops when things didn’t go his way. We did it on grass in the end so he could fall off safely during a strop, he lives it now, has no fear which is a little scary at times. Worst thing is the bending over and running behind them holding the seat, my back was wrecked.

It will happen don’t worry, problem I have is getting them out enough now as it’s a drag finding somewhere safe for them to ride. I won’t risk them on the roads around here.

Quick run out to QECP this afternoon, it never ceases to amaze me how incredibly unfit I am these days :-). Had a good ride, had a few practice runs on the bit I never get right and got it about as right as I ever have, which was nice!

Trail was running really nicely and I saw a deer once again which always makes me think the same thing each time. “Well if I hadn’t been out here riding I wouldn’t have seen that” those encounters make the pain worthwhile.

Van update: this doesn’t make pretty reading.
So I sat down with my wife and started to explain why this purchase was a good idea. All was going fine and she then asked to see a picture of one, this is where it all went wrong. I found a lovely lowered version about 4 yrs old and proudly displayed what we could soon own. The response? ” it’s a van, if you think I am driving a van you have another thing coming” I then showed the interior but was still met with “it’s a van” I then brought in my sister and bro in law for support. There response was “yeah we see a few of those around here(Wilmslow) everyone thinks stalkers own them with their blacked out windows. Lots of room to keep people captive”

Let’s just say the conversation didn’t go my way 🙂

If only I had the budget for a new t6 I am guessing mpg will be greatly improved with a new engine

Thanks everyone, that’s a lot to think about. The only negative so far is the mpg as I currently get 50+ from the car so quite an investment both in purchase and running costs.

Matt and Yak thanks for the offers and will drop you a line if the money adds up.

Ok you smart arses up there ^^^ 🙂 assuming the article in question covers the basics I was more after some real life experiences along with info on whether you can just buy off the shelf bike suitable or whether conversion is the way to go. Will check out issue 88 as well though thanks.

Cheers for all the other info, bit of a mix of opinions on mpg so will have a look at the T5 forum wherever that may sit.

My kids have kindle fires and they are fine for browsing, playing games, and music. Surprisingly good speaker for a tablet. I wouldn’t choose one just for reading I would go with a ereader, wife has a Nook Glow-light which she likes.

Yes CG as nice as the rides sound you need to get back to proper riding 🙂

No riding other than messing around in the garden with the children trying to teach them how to ride out of their seats and manoeuvre the bike. Epic fail there.

Stag do yesterday basically broke me

There was a scene in one of the episodes when they had been nicking off school and drinking. The parents got them in a room and quizzed them about what they had been doing. Can’t remember much but I remember nearly wetting myself with laughter.

Bikebouy, That hailstorm caught me in the middle of rugby training Sunday, was funny seeing us all scatter for cover when there wasn’t really any nearby!

Bradsneck. You are forgiven as you just made me laugh.
