about 50mins at a decent pace. I'd have to go back with my stopwatch to give you a proper time trial ;)

fitz, don't know if you've had any news on the wheels but I received my rotor this weekend with a note of apology from Jade explaining that her dad had been taken ill on the day we did the deal. So it sound like an honest hold up and hopefully you're getting sorted out too.

hmm, that's a shame not sure i'd want to risk ordering if I end up faffing around like that

I've just come across their website, best price I can find on google for rubber queens (2.2 folding). looks good, has anyone used them?

I sent money (paypal gift) for a rotor to a Jade Chapman Sunday before last(25th). She said it would go in the post on the Monday. 7 working days later, no sign of the goods and no reply to my emails. I'm not jumping to conclusions but it doesn't look good, just glad it was only a tenner. If Jade is reading and there's a fair reason for the delay please get in touch.

If you're spending allot of money it's worth having a good look at the users forum history and collecting the goods if possible. FWIW I've bought allot of stuff on the classifieds and most sellers have been honest and very helpful.

Oh, now I remember, the bolt is as you say on the side not underneath. I have tightened it before but never tried to open it up.

    I'll give it a go.
thanks for the help, much appreciated.

there's a picture of the underside of one in this thread:

I think there's a bolt in the hole you can see next to the cable guide

ah, doesn't look quite like either, certainly doesn't have the big screws underneath. unfortunately its in the shop at the mo so I can't get a look at it

I don't really know! would guess it's a set screw – there's a hole with a 5mm allen bolt on the underside of the frame, I assumed this was to hold the EBB in place but have never tried adjusting it.

the quarry is next to the carlton centre on outer circle road, definitely worth a look.

Hmmm, food for thought, having used bolt through I do like it but can't say I worry about flex without, but I'm probably not 'pushing it hard through corners' Does flex become more of a problem the longer the fork?

but which ones on a budget? I like thors but the deal has ended on those and nobody wants to sell me any second hand :(

    johnduke

Yeah, I was looking at bolt throughs, but don't think I could find anything similar at that kind of price.

hey, is that joolz from cyclesport? if so hi there, hope you had a good holiday, next time you see brett get on his back about Mayhem, if not, hi anyway!

I've done the train out to edale before, it's really easy from lincoln. The trains out of sheffield have great bike space but the lincoln-sheff ones generally have a very pokey bike space. Nice cheap day out from lincoln, give yourself enough time and you can ride straight out from sheffield and save some train fare.

So is it possible to ride lincoln-sherwood pines on the sustrans routes? edit- just clicked your link, that looks ace, I'd been thinking there must be a way to get over there off road, looks like I've got myself an all-day-er in the making!

richc – I emailed the distributor about upgrading internals on '09 thors as it was rumoured a while ago it would be possible but they replied definitely not

write up in the latest St mag was very positive, sounds like they've sorted any issues with the '09 version

that's the one, not much to see on the website tho. Might try giving them an Email.
Would definitely be warmer than an xc lid but wouldn't be the everyday helmet.

there's a distributor on the press add, can't remember their name and don't have it to hand unfortunately, but there's nothing on their (the dist) website.

just noticed that says 104mm on the description so I guess it should be standard?

I think http://www.slikgraphics.co.uk could help you out, I got some replica mavic rim stickers from them recently and was very impressed, really quick service. And they'll design you something bespoke if you want something a bit different.

seems this was a very rookie question. The truth is the only other time I've replaced a chain I happened to get a new cassette too, I just didn't put 2 and 2 together!

so next question, can anyone beat this price for the new cassette?

I know my own fault for specing pricey stuff!

well that sounds pretty conclusive, thanks all. thought it was bad enough having to pay for a new chain, new cassette two is gonna be painful!

no, it's not that important but surely it's possible to have a set up that will react to small bumps but wont bottom out as soon as you hit anything bigger? I should have added that even with lots of pressure and rebound, once you've used the travel on a descent the fork stays down until almost completely unweighted. Anyway what I'm really after is any opinions on the newer design (as magura decided to redesign them for 2010 I'm happy in my assertion the older ones, though good forks, aren't perfect). anyone used both, or had an upgrade done?

    johnduke

yep, I had thought about HR front with crossmark on the back, might be the way to go.

not as bothered about weight as avoiding anything really dragy. anyone know how a 2.25nic compares to a 2.35hr width wise?

    johnduke
    Free Member

just that they're quite linear and can blow through their travel quite easily. I've got a set up I'm fairly happy with but do find I have to sacrifice small bump performance once it's up to a pressure that works well. Just wondering how the new internals compare and if people think it's worth upgrading?

Oh, and then there's compounds too! Having been using black chilli compound contis would I want to look at Maxxis' in 42 or 62a? or maybe a combination front/back?

thanks dt5714, I wasn't sure about that sole in the wet. The freerunners are in the crc sale so might give them a try.
