just spotted DMR Shift R available in 26/28 and 38/40 which would do the job.

singletrack have one on long term test, if you search the website you should find several articles. You should get several hits from a forum search too.

ah, just found your ad, if you’re still happy with £30 for it I’ll take it.

JohnnyB, does the sakura come in at a similar price to the samurai?
also, do you have the chromag seat posts available?

I use 18bikes branded lizard skins ones, not bling but I think they look cool.

why did the baker have smelly hands?

    because he kneaded a poo.

looks like a slightly more hardy freezer bag for 10x the price.

thanks, don’t worry about pics as I’m not ready to buy yet.
so it looks like if you take the wheel out you’re pulling out the tug with the rear mech attached which must be more than a little awkward?

thanks palmer77 but I have a frame in mind already.
the chain tugs look good for the job, can you take the wheel out easily using them? do the tugs have to come out with the wheel every time?

actually that looks like it’s meant for forward facing drop outs, I’m thinking of rear facing ones on something like a cotic soul, could it still be used? or is there something else…

that’s interesting, I wondered about putting some 29er forks on mine to relax the angles a bit. what length fork is the inbred intended for?

    johnduke

not its best angle but a great bike

just to throw something else into the mix, I was looking at these:

not crazy expensive and fairly light, any opinions?

I’m thinking an ‘illegal ivory’ piglet with 120mm a bolt through fork is my next ‘must have’ bike.

I’m 6ft and have just swapped my large out for a medium, the issue for me was a lack of stand over.
    brilliant bike regardless.

I really wish you hadn’t said that about a ti version!
will that feature the headtube box?
Will the standard model come in the same colour as the eurobike one? it looked great.

I think the word I'm looking for is lush! needs some of those pink hope brakes with the flowery rotors.

I have a short cage mech sorted so think I'm gonna try one of those MRPs or the superstar knock-off.

Does anyone know if you can mount an MRP 1X and a stinger together?

    why do they wear helmets?

I thought the bits of trail centre we saw during the Kielder100 were pretty good. Would agree that Newcastleton is better than Kielder. watch out for the midges!

I wanted something with a bottom roller too really, to stop the chain slapping around on bumpy stuff, maybe that won't be so much of a problem with a short mech?

I just can't understand why so many full chain guides are £100+, seems a bit silly for a back plate and a couple of rollers!

I'm considering the new superstar one which looks a bit more reasonable at £50

although I seem to have to re-learn this every time I get to any decent trails.

does anyone know if there were any other photographers at the event who have pictures online? Joolze does an amazing job to get everyone but unfortunately the ones of me both look pretty uninspiring and I'm pulling stupid faces. I'm sure I saw other photographers on the way round.

Amazing event, definitely the best thing of this sort I've ever done.

hmmm, not that I'd be tempted away from my hustler but the mythic looks very interesting and quite pretty in the anodised finish.

glad someone is going the right way round. I was there last week riding the red route and passed several families and couples going the wrong way round, all without helmets. fortunately I was in the middle of a long training ride and not going at any great speed, if I'd been riding in anger there could have been some very small kids with serious injuries, it made me quite angry. I don't think the riders were entirely to blame, there's a strong case for much more visible sign-age.

they were trying to reallocate places from people who dropped out, that's how I got in but I guess it's probably not feasible to be doing it right up to the last minute.

happened to me a few weeks ago for the second time, like you I had a fair idea it was gonna happen but it still came as a bit of a kick in the teeth. I'm trying to see it as a good opportunity to move on from what was a pretty dead end job. Just make the most of the extra spare time while you're job seeking, don't feel guilty about getting a few extra riding hours in!

I can recommend the cove hustler without reservation.
