Flour – it stinks when it ignites (which is very quickly).

^ Yeah, Denise Lewis seemed pretty confident on the BBC last night given the way she has performed so far.

The one time we were stranded (last train, hopelessly overcrowded as the previous train had been cancelled and there were hundreds of people coming back from a gig at First Direct Arena in Leeds), they put taxis on for everyone.

So we’ve ended up blowing the budget a bit and going to Paphos in Cyprus for seven nights All Inclusive. It looks nice – fingers crossed ?

Really not sure my kids would be happy with staying in the UK after looking forward to a week in the sun. Still not found anything FFS.

We have tried a real agent, unfortunately she couldn’t find anything. We should have been walking into the airport right now, instead there’s four of us not agreeing about where to go :-(

Well, we have a result – a full refund without any cancellation fees because of their ‘Failure to Provide’. But that means I am not going on holiday today :-( Instead, we are all frantically looking for something in the next couple of days.

But they have accepted, in writing, that it was an error on their website surely?

So – an update. After chasing and chasing and chasing, they responded at 4.45pm today (we are due to set off to the airport at 11am tomorrow) pretty much admitting fault saying:

We have checked and due to a system error this issue has happened, we also tried to secure the booking at Sunrise Resort, however unfortunately there is no availability.

We can offer you a reduction of £295 due to this inconvenience if would like to stay at Sunrise beach hotel.

So this clearly isn’t acceptable and I responded, rejecting it and asking for a full refund because of their ‘Failure to Perform’ (via their email system so it is all recorded). I didn’t get a response so I called them, was put on hold for 30+ minutes then the line went dead as their call centres close at 5.30pm!!!!

I am quite sure I am within my rights asking for a full refund (for Love Holidays btw) as they have accepted fault and can’t place us in suitable alternative accommodation.

Thoughts please! I am going to need a holiday to recover from this holiday!

I bought an obscure part for a 16 year old car from AliExpress – 1/3rd of the price of tatty second-hand ones on Ebay and was clearly an original part as they had even gone to the effort of grinding off the product code.

There shouldn’t be competitive advantage in the Olympics because one country can spend £60K per bike versus another being able to spend £1K.

Japan’s costs £100,000. Will they even get a medal?

But, TBF, the ‘price tag’ is a notional amount and to qualify, the bike has to be commercially available – I don’t believe the value bears any relation to the actual cost to design and manufacture.

There will be WRs all over the place – apparently, it’s a higher track by 1m over most tracks and the weather conditions are perfect. So BBC said earlier anyway.

And with a name like Finucane, she sounds fast, like a Supercar – the Lamborghini Finucane.

So the ‘looking into it’ has only resulted (so far) in them removing the Trip Advisor links from their website. Hmmm.

Yes I have screenshot the website (including showing the URL). Tried calling them again and they are ‘looking into it’ for me. The hotel that I think we are going to looks absolutely awful and TBH, I am not sure I would want to take our family there.

Yes, they are ABTA members – I read the T&Cs but it wasn’t particularly clear.

Ouch – that’s a rough one – we won the Silver in the Triathlon Mixed Relay but it has been downgraded to a Bronze after they actually bothered to look at the photo properly. TBF, I do think it was the right decision but I am surprised they did that.

Struggling to focus on the sports as Clare Baldings hair, it’s like she’s styled it on a bike or horse helmet.

It’s a bit Robbie Rotten from Lazy Town TBF

I had until about a year ago, 07 Plate Mazda 3 that I owned from new so about 16 years old when I sold it. It never once failed to start apart from when batteries died (twice in its lifetime).

But unfortunately I think you will need to complete the set-up and then factory reset now.

And now a Gold in the horse jumping too.

It’s turning out to be quite a good day.

‘It’ and ‘the stand’ and ‘the green mile’ are superb, and ‘Carrie’ was pretty good too

I liked Christine (although I haven’t seen it for a while and it may not live up to my memory of it). And of course Shawshank Redemption.

Women’s Double Skulls about to start – we have a very strong chance of a medal here.

Gutted for the Men’s Pair in the rowing there – they led for about 1985m of that race!

£100 this month – my first win since last November.

Apparently, one of the £1m winners (from London as they so often seem to be) only had a £600 holding.

I can’t help but think that the scoring got stricter in that BMX final. Had Reilly done his second run in the first round, he’d have received a much higher score and possibly Gold. Ahh well, still a mammoth achievement.

Wow – what a morning – with 500m (or so) metres to go in both the Men’s Triathlon and Women’s Quad Skulls, we were hopeful of silvers (at best). Just wow.

And I missed both of them as I was on client calls FFS.

Previous Olympic record was 43, so a pretty impressive increase! Chinese dude in silver place scored 44 so must be a bit gutted to break the previous record and not even win.

Yeah, they both did something special. I watched the last bit of it and I didn’t even spot one clay.

^^^ They did that once ages ago in some Denzil Washington film IIRC – used a satellite image and managed to ‘enhance’ enough to read a car registration plate or something daft like that.

I would assume that an AI altered image couldn’t be used as evidence – it has been artificially altered and that would introduce reasonable doubt.

Wow – new Olympic Record (48/50) and he also holds the World Record at 49/50.

Not sure how many clays are involved in the competition.

    From the BBC site…

The competitors each shoot at 25 targets, at which point the sixth-placed athlete is eliminated. The lowest ranked competitor is then eliminated after every subsequent five shots each.

When only two athletes remain, they each shoot at another 10 targets (thus completing a total of 50 targets in the final), with their overall score determining the winner.

The GB competitor (Hales) scored 24 out of 25 in the initial set.

Just been taking a look at the road race course. There are some steep fast descents on city streets. I hope to god it doesn’t rain or there will be carnage.

I think there is more risk of the tarmac melting now.

So halfway through  Ungentlemanly Conduct – it’s okay but not really grabbing me.

FFS – so I’m going to bed so I can get up early for work – this isn’t how it’s meant to be surely?

Yeah, there was nothing in it – a pure racing incident and surely Korestky will concede that he had been at a massive advantage for much of the race after Pidcock had to change a wheel.

It’s not a shame – he ran an underweight car and was disqualified. That’s how it works.
