The big issue I see with the Abus lock is its size. It can only be looped around small diameter poles. Therefore it will be easier to cut the bike stand etc than the lock.

Did loads of research. I spend hours beside football pitches in all weather.

I always had problems getting my external flue wood burner going on very cold days.

Tried the blow torch. Wasn’t powerful enough.

Solution was 2 sheets of newspaper very loose and light them with the stove door ajar.

It needed a quick blast of heat to remove the cold air in the flue.

My other stove had a liner up the chimney insulated with Leca. That was so easy to light.

    Columbia Outdry for me too.
Biggest benefit is the jacket is easy to clean after it’s covered in mud.

Materials like gortex or event need to be kept clean to work as intended and too much cleaning reduces the effectiveness of the water repellent coating.

Pebble tool looks like the perfect multi tool. Shame I already have a Dyna plug racer and a small multi tool.

    Another vote for Knipex.

Looked at the Felco but ££££ and couldn’t justify for the 1 or 2 cables I may cut a year.

Never mind £40 for coffee, £90 for a skinny tyre!

I had a quote for my whole house about 18 months ago and was shocked at how high it was. Sorry can’t remember the exact amount.

Decided against it as payback was a long time as we don’t use the heating that much.

    Wish I hadn’t read this.
I have a 12 year old Planet X Van Nick singlespeed as my winter bike. It’s always muddy.
I dare not clean it now!

So much for Ti being for life!

Cars parked partially on the pavement.
Cars on the road can’t get past when another car is coming the other way and the pavement is blocked.

So just park fully on the road and leave the pavement clear.

Some reasonably priced components for once (Cues). They look excellent for the money.

Bikevlip. Nice idea but I will stick with my blocks of wood.

Most definitely. The aroma is very strong.

I wondered why the postman was sniffing my mail!

Sad news. I lived 2 doors away from him for many years and he encouraged my boys when they were learning to ride on their balance bikes and would always stop for a chat.

People who let gates slam shut, especially when they are in the middle of nowhere. Every time they slam its accelerating the wear which then will need repairing.

    Close them gently by hand.

I used to take VSL #3 on prescription to help prevent pouchitis in my ileoanal pouch.

I used to take it before bed though was told could take it at any time.

VSL is very concentrated and has to be kept cool. Some is supposed to pass through the stomach into the bowel.

The self confidence my 11 year old has gained from playing football.
From being quiet and standing on the edge of the group to being a leader.

As a goal keeper he has to control the players in front of him.

Recently he had to play in goal for the opposition (a team on tour from OZ) as they didn’t have a keeper. He was straight in and chatting.

This is even more pleasing to see than watching him play Man City, Liverpool, Wolves etc. which in reality are only games of football between lads.

Pretty much been said but limit carbs suger and booze.

Plus don’t snack and limit portion size.

If I don’t feel hungry before each meal I am eating too much. This also makes me look forward to food and really enjoy it.

Really liking the Alpkit Ardent however the Decathlon NH500 and MH500 are appealing at the price.

I like the reflective bits on the Keela Roadrunner. They will be useful when walking and cycling.

I will now read some reviews and make a decision.

    Thank you all.

I use chainsaw oil. Really cheap and works well.

    Short sleeve top for winter?
    Surely a long sleeve.

I like the idea of the tyre inflator but not at £136 so will stick to removing the core then blasting the air in to seat the tyres then put the core back in to inflate with the track pump or brass adapter.

Read Fast After 50 by Joe Friel.

    In summary.
    Reduce carbs. Increase protein.
Still train hard but generally on a 10 day or more routine instead of weekly routine.

    Leeds fan too.
I was feeling quite confident for a change until the latest round of injuries.

Also will be following Birmingham as my 10 yr old is a keeper in their academy. We can get tickets but are on holiday when Leeds are playing Birmingham. 🙁

Looks like I got a bargain at £1200 for a new combi boiler in February.

It replaced one of a different make so wasn’t a straight swap.

Originally from Leeds and of course still a fan.

When I lived in Sweden I cycled in shorts and after every ride I would have a good check. A full length mirror and a hand held mirror would enable me to check ever where.

I would often remove 5 or 6. It was norm out there to always check.  Even though they are small they are easy to spot.

therefore shorts are fine but have a good inspection.

A roofer told me to put small copper sheets on the top tiles. Apparently rain hits the copper and runs down preventing moss growing.

My children are aware of swear words and do know that in many situations it is inappropriate to use them.
We know we can’t shelter them from everything and they have to learn the appropriate time and place.

The magazine arrived yesterday and I do the normal thing of a quick flick through and the words stood out at the top of the pages. I don’t open the first page and read that and then turn the page.

I have now seen the disclaimer.
