Tonight’s moon

I have a half fat (with 29er front wheel option) original (Merlin titanium works) 3d Space frame with a Rohloff and it’s now my winter Thursday night bike, it’s great and does everything that I want from it.

Most of my time now I ride my Lauf fork’ed mainly Jones bar’ed titanium hard tails that offer more give but still with the same lack of maintenance.

Would I sell the Jones? I doubt it and it would need to be at the right money.

The Scwalbe G-One’s are trickling in now I believe

Why not just 2 x 9, you will have the range you need if you get the 2 chain ring sizes right and it will be as cheap as chips and tough as old boots

Did you like the Lauf? I had a brief ride on one and found the lack of rebound damping a bit disconcerting; it was a bit, erm, springy!

The original Trail Racer 29ers were a little springy, although I still have mine without any problems, the latter ones are better, these (30mm Grit forks) are my 4th set so yes I love them.

For wheels on the ground not too technical riding they are super light, maintenence free and perfect for absorbing trail buzz when you get too old for rigid bikes but too lazy to clean or service your forks

Does anybody else think those Jones bikes are about as ugly as a bike gets?

Who cares when your riding such a great bike, plus you can’t see it when your riding it.
Personally I think it’s a work of art, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder

There’s a down hill section, and lots of fire roads, but not much in between.

It’s also holds water well so go after a dry spell if you want to stay dry.

Plenty of bivi spots and a nice cafe at the lake side visitors centre.

The space frame is made for it’s short wheelbase.
Would a longer and taller Plus version be as much fun to ride?

I don’t understand why people moan about England Football team being rubbish when all the money in the Premiership goes to foreign players, managers and the companies that own the clubs.

It’s not problem, if you are on private land DON’T have a fire and this draws attention, as has been said. pitch late leave early the UK is very safe from creapy crawlies and axe wielding murderers.

Just a note about parking sefton are introducing pay and display around crosby car parks, in the next week or so, kep an eye out for new regulations time limits etc.
