iDave’s shot abaove is ok but for the bigger picture of where it was taken and the risks involved you need to see where it was taken.

If you don’t get it now you will when you’re over 34 (the youngest rider there this weekend)

Normal mtb’ing you ride up hill’s at your own pace puffing and panting with an occasional chat with a fellow rider, then blast downhill having fun on your own for a few minutes then repeat.

Beach riding not like that, if you’re with others there is no bike snobbery (all fat bikes are equal) and you don’t feel the need for speed, you bimble around, having a laugh, riding sand dunes and into the sea.

Playing tick on bikes is a blast, just watch out for Andy next year as he’s “on”

Role on next summers 2nd “Gathering”

Looks good! Would love to see a truss fork up front. For looks if nothing else.

Whats the point in a “fat bike” exactly?

Riding places you can’t ride a “normal” bike

    Thanks for your help.

Anyone got the new Insignia estate who can say yeh or nah?

I test rode the Kia Sportage today and I liked it but the rear seats don’t fold flat and the rear space is less than the Passat but I like it’s new look and how it drives.

If you want to go tubless don’t bother, this morning with only 25psi in the 29er Nobby Nick I bought under a month ago and ony used for several rides since fitting one on the front (taking me well over an hour to fit) this morning I spotted the tyre had blown off the rim.
Tonight I wasted serveal attempts to get it to stay on the rim without sucess.

I’ll be making a phone call tomorrow to send the faulty one and the one I’ve not used back for an alternative replacement.

    0/10 from me

With tyres like this and soft sand you (well I do) really need some gears, I wouldn’t consider SS’ing my Fat Bike.

but really most of the time there particular deviations away from a “standard bike” are not needed.

They are needed if this sort of riding is on your doorstep.

    Taken on this mornings ride

OK so Jaquie Phelan couldn’t lead her Friday 6.30pm ride for literary reasons.

Surely someone else, possibly a local could have lead a ride the evening before the event.

No pockets in fancy dress = no money taken = no beer.

For the high price of the event shouldn’t a couple of tinnies each mid loop have been handed out?
