I’ve got rid of a but one 26ers (just the shop and dog running local bike left)

5 x 29ers that a get used regularly for different riding and I love them all

I think this picture sums up how helpful they are over the rough stuff as well

And I’ve never had a wheel expolde 😉

I’ve borrowed the Flash and loved it, when it came to buying one I bought the Zip and it’s just as good but without the risk of breaking the ignition thingy.

    Both 10/10

Mine’s done over 1000 miles in 12 months and I think it’s just about comfy enough, 250 miles on beaches, one major crash and re build, it’s got a good few scratches and hose washed down after most rides and theres no probems here.
If it’s ever left out in the rain I’d cover it with a carrier bag though

Question for the bivvies on the forum.

Is a multi-day trip off road feasible using only a backpack? If so what setup do you use?

My concern is that your back would die under the extra load.

I guess if you’re not used to the weight bent over your bike then yes?

I found my Mukluk cranks are a bit wobbly while washing the bike down after todays ride.
Not bad I suppose after 11 months of abuse and 1500 miles with about a 3rd of that on beaches.

What short should I upgrade to?

What is the purpose of these “fat”bikes I keep seeing on here, why such big tyres, what they used for?

Even though it knackers up your bottom bracket, 1500miles+ and 11 months of beaches I suppose isn’t a bad life for it’s bog standard one

Square profile like an endomorph – this rings alarm bells! The Endo was a horrible front tyre.

Seconded, can’t wait for my BFL & Nates to arrive for the Mukluk so the Jones can get a Larry or a Nate

    I ordered one today (17.5″) and i’m a short arse at 5ft 8in!

Perfect size, as that’s my height and size of Rumblefish

    JohnClimber
    Free Member

I’m very happy with my Rumblefish, it’s my all day in the hills comfort bike, mine bobs a bit too much (only tiny but) on climbing for my hardtail liking but it rides stuff much better than I can throw at it. 8/10 from me

Went in store today and looked at this and even the guy instore said they come up very small.

I’d say go 2 sizes over

That wasn’t the bikes fault tho was it?. and how do you manage to even get admitted to a ward, never mind an overnight stay for broken ribs?

You’re right it was all my fault for
    1) Riding with flats after years of spd’s
    2) Looking too far ahead and been complacent on a jump I’ve done a hundred times before
& The 3 night in hospital were for observation because I was unconscious after the crash for about 40 minutes, split my helmet and in agony down my left hand side, do you want to see the scars? 😉

I heard the lane changing avoidance was only in the early days, but if I creep over (no cruise control at the moment) I will change lane just in case.

Martinxyz – Rigid Fat bikes are not built for fast down hilling over big rocks or big jumps. You will get hurt I should know 3 nights in hospital and 3

    broken ribs to prove it

But the fatbike is the ONLY tool for the job it is used for. If you like that sort of riding, there’s no choice, no fashionable alternative. Just the fatbike.

They also do stuff other bikes can’t do, today mine was amazing at climbing up techy stuff much better riders than me on hardtails and full sussers coudn’t get up…. And I’m shite. It’s all about the bike..

I second Harlech. We take our dog to either Harlech or Llandanwg beach several times a week. The sunsets can be pretty spectacular – even when it’s raining!

Access to trail centres are pretty good – near enough equidistance from CyB and Penmachno/Marin.

Here are some dog friendly cottages with good views!

Everyone I know that has a fatbike couldn’t care less what anyone that’s never riden one thinks of them.
They’re to busy having fun on them. It’s not about how they look it’s how they bring a smile to your face when you ride them.

    Seconded with Stu
Fat Bikes, Weird Bikes “normal” bikes, who cares what pepole think if you like it and have fun on it just ride it.

Just remember one important thing if you haven’t tried it don’t knock it
