Fatter 26″ ones fit just fine in most 29er tyres.

Try blowing one up without putting it in the tyre and see if it stops at 26″, if it doesn’t it will fit a 29er fine

After a chat on our club forum and the thought that time slots of 15 minutes apart are too far apart I’ve made the following rule change.

So rule 1a is now – If anyone donates £20 (or more) their 4 (or more) time slots can be no closer than 7 miunutes apart.

Thanks again for your generosity as I know how tight things are.

£195 in the first day is great, time slots are still available and a couple of begging letters for bike freebies for the winners pot have gone out.

Sorry, was having dinner. iFad not letting me book slots so will do it on the desktop later. Shouldn’t you be turbo training or something? Cheers

Only I can edit the form, please email me your numbered time slots.

And if I was training I wouldn’t sell many higher timed time slots would I, or am I training????

Don’t forget to avoid block booking please keep your time slots 15 minutes apart, but for you Lactic with your donation I’ll cut that down to 7-8 minutes apart.

    Thanks again to you all

good lord, it’s a single speed event! turn with a bike, ride, have fun, meet new people, go home, get over hangover and repeat for the next one. You give singlespeeders a bad name

Like you I bagged a few KOM’s when only 3 or 4 riders had ridden the trails before me, and like mine I guess the 2nd place person set up the segments and the other 2 didn’t even know there where riding a segmant.

Well done for beating the other rider….

Get the Mini Countryman as you first thought.

I had Civic D (now a Countryman Cooper D) and it wasn’t as ecomonical as the book said (they never are), if the seats fold up like the last one they are great for meduim framed bikes without the front wheels but nothing bigger.
Also don’t got for bigger than the basic alloy wheels as it was the most unconfortable car I’ve ever owned/driven.

The trails are open, if you’ve got the right equipment.

This shot was taken this morning (Thursday) at the top of the first climb.

I’ve got the Cooper D Countryman, rear seats slide forward and backward to help, room in the back for the dog (border terrier) on a raised home made shelf and room for luggage underneath.

Removable towbar fitted for bike rack

Very nippy and cruises at top speed very well, although I can’t get much more than 44mpg out of it but it’s a company car and fuels provided so I don’t worry about that.

    hi there,
really like the look of a fat front, are you riding them because of the ability to ride in soft areas, or / and because the suspension the huge air volume provide?

how much slower are they on the flats and up hill??

Forget it for snow and sand fat fronts are fine but normal rear wheels will just sink in, get a full fat bike for snow or sand not a half fat.

Good to see you Rich and I might take you up on your offer of a north lakes ride.

Has anyone seen any of the photos yet as there were at least 6 snappers on the course?

Normal Larry would be fine, BFL wouldn’t be any different with those rims.

I used normal Larry on a 50mm rim this weekend and although the normal WTB tyre of the back was slip sliding on the wet lakeland slate the Fat Larry on the front stuck like sh!t to a stick

From my experience of my Alfine 11
It’s heavier on the back end but not that bad.
But it’s gearing is the same as the 3×10 but withour the granny ring.
So if you ride big hills run a smaller cog on the back but if you ride flat trails go bigger and go for it

    Just 3 questions
    1) It’s been a while, where is the trail head car park
    2) Is it free is the car park after 5pm?
    3) What time does it get locked?
