What sort of riding do you do?

    Trail centre?
    Down hill?
    Canal Tow Paths?

Got mine today and very happy they moved the goal posts because of the longer course and weather conditions 4hr’s 10mins now equals GOLD

3 Golds in 3 events means that I can now retire from the event a happy man

Across Antarctica in winter, he’ll need some big batteries or lots of small ones for lights to last that long on such a long walk.

The more I read the more I want to do it but with an overnight and only in good weather, so at short notice.

In use the Loop and the H don’t feel that different to me.
There’s just more room for controls and an extra hand position on the Loop bar.

    Seconded,
I’ve Ti H bars and Aliminium Loop bars, the Loop bars are better for more riding positions.

Bad luck DD, you didn’t fail you did better than all but one of us #Phil #Hero and don’t forget the West Highland Way will still be there in better weather. Quite fancy it myself one day.

Well done Phil for finishing the double just half an hour ago and doing most of the ride in the rain and dark.

On my way to 59th out of 1689 riders in this Sunday’s Isle of Man End2End, I also raised £1242 for the Alzheimer’s Society by selling off my finishing time slots for mtb prizes

A very big thanks to all that donated, to Chipps for his prizes and to Richie from Silver fish for his prizes.

    I finished yesterdays race in 59th place in a time of 4hrs 10mins 38secs
    http://www.manxtimingsolutions.com/DynamicResults/OverallType2.aspx

And the winner of the prize pot is Sean – SilverScoob who I’ve already been in touch with and will present him his prizes on Thursday evening this week

Once again thanks to you all helping me smash my target of £1000 by £241.20 and for claiming gift aid. Donations are still accepted but there is nothing for you to win as I’m having a rest now.

I confess I am intrigued. What pressure do you put in the tyres?

    F: 6.5psi
    R: 7.5psi

When racing and not on sand, a massive 18psi

If you’re from the area buy from Thatto’s cycles in St Helens.
Great service, stock levels, knowledge and deals.

Formby cycles use only if you’re desperate and if you know what you need. I went in there a week ago and I had to tell one of the young counter monkies what spd cleats were and when he had learnt that they were they didn’t have them in stock.

Heard another story but I won’t put it up on here just in case it’s wrong, but put it this way I’d never give them my home address just in case.

    So, Fatty Bikes…

Are for people who can’t ride proper bikes fast…….

Bollox, I’ve many KOM’s on “proper bikes” but love riding my Fat Bike.
In fact I’m racing it at this weekends Isle of Man End2End where I’ll be aiming for an under 4hour finishing time, somewhere near my “proper bike” time in 2009 of 3hr’s 36mins (41st place)

Some nice panniers up above, but Aldi or was it Lidl? just had some for about £15 about a week or two ago.

I’m sure you’ll find them in store somewhere if you’re on a budget or if it’s dry or if you don’t plan to use it too much

It a great training tool when you use the “My results” section.

Other than that it’s just an excuse to have a laugh and take the pi$$ out of your competertive mates. If a pro racer ever found our segments we’d all be in trouble.

Even on this next one I’ll never get higher than 4th place even with dry conditions and a tail wind.

    Why thank you…..

Looking at these shots again is making me think about a long weekend dry weather, shot notice, later spring beach riding bivi trip to South Uist next year.

Any Fat bikers fancy it as well?

If it’s wet deep mud than you will definatly need mud tyres. Bontrager Mud-X’s are my choice when the going get’s bad, but that’s for up here in the North West.
I’d guess for clay Mud-X’s would be perfect for digging in and not clogging up the gaps in between the lugs

It’s rough and very rough and big cobbles in places.

Avoid and wait until it dries out in the “summer”

Flew to Barra for a long weekend with the wife and dog 2 years ago and were lucky to go on the best weekends weather all year.

    Landing on the beach

    The beach behind the hotel

Archie hated flying but he soon forgot about it when he got to the beach

    Next stop America

Cooling down on a hot day

    Castlebay

    Seal Hunting

    Heaven

I don’t want to go on that again

Thanks for getting me to look through these shots again, sorry about the upload (no I’m not really)

Apparently I hit a max speed of 148.7 kmh yesterday and rode 120km, not the 65km it looked like on a paper map. 65k in 5.5 hours is a bit more realistic for me than 120k. Managed a KOM with an average of 45kmh uphill!

    I can beat that.

On my phone today after an hour I’d covered over 206,000miles.

    I think something went wrong.

Nice of the French not even to update their website to say that Wiggo won this year, let alone to say that lance has lost his 7
