It depends how technical it is.

If it’s technical it will be the mtb that wins

If it’s none tecnical….. you can guess the rest

Wait for northernly wind and warm dry spell.

Drive to uig on Skye, leave car.

    Ferry to North Uist

Fat bike on tarmac blast down to the southern tip of South Uist in one go.

Beach ride all the way North and East back the the ferry over couple of days chilling all the way.

Anyone know if there is a good Orange phone signal on the Island?

    Cheers Rich

Paul, If it’s dry(ish) and I’m doing it I’ll drive past Postierich’s river side spot, Scotgate campsite and then up to your spot.

Good luck, its a painful 2hrs 15 mins of riding

Only 3 came in within 2hrs 15mins last year. well done if you were one of those rodaggair
    http://www.whinlatterchallenge.co.uk/results.asp

Took me nearly 3 hours but I was on a single speed.
    The slowest took 5hrs 46mins

Stopped at Lanefoot camp site last year, but it wasn’t flat or quiet.

I wonder if parking at the VC would be possible even though the cars will be locked in it will be a quiet and safe place to wild camp.

If not Scotgate campsite looks good

    Don’t believe what you read.

Border Terriers malt ALL bloody year. We are always cleaning up hair and he’s kept striped as well.

If you are thinking of a terrier get a female as most males want to fight other male dogs.

Take them to puppy training but you will never train the terrier out of male borders

I asked this same question recently myself and bought the light weight Vax Air 3 like THIS ONE

Twice as good and twice as light as the upright dyson it replaced, it’s great to maneuver as well.

Buy one you won’t regret it

Yep, it will do everything I want from a bike.

But, I like variety, a quiver of bikes.

So don’t sell all your bikes to buy a jones, just ADD a jones to your quiver.

I agree, my Jones is definatly my best bike, but that could be down to how much it cost, I don’t use it as much as I should as I have a “quiver), but I’d never sell it.

On-one chunky monkey is huge! heavy and good and cheap

I don’t think the On One Chunky Monkey is any heavier than other fat tyres, but they are awesome for grip.

Pop on an On One Smorgasboard on the back and it’s the best grippy combo on the market IMHO
