As an affordable alternative to the non roadie skinny bodied rider take a look at Columbia’s Out Dry material.
I have one of their jackets and it’s fantastic in the rain and not noticeably sweaty inside as the pit zips are massive.
And because there is on DWR the mud just washes straight off with a hose pipe.
I’ve used it many times on the bike and dog walking in the rain and it still looks like new.
    OutDry

I have this, but the black is more of a grey colour
    http://www.columbiasportswear.co.uk/mens-outdry-ex-gold-tech-shell-1722802.html?dwvar_1722802_variationColor=010#start=0

and I have a pair of their trainers with OutDry in as well and I’ve never had wet feet. I can’t see that same pair on their site now as they were on offer at the time.

Slightly heavier, slightly bulkier, heavier duty (I guess), more available (than Gore) and a lot cheaper

    RIP Mike Hall

Let’s not all blame the driver as the accident was at night, in the dark. Mike had been complaining about his poor eye sight in the dark and that he might need glasses only the day or two before on the event film clips.
Plus he’d been riding more that any of us could dream of with very few stops.

A true understated legend. Bye Mike

I think Canyon Fat bikes come with them as standard, but they are not for re sale anywhere else.

Many thanks for posting this film.

I met John and chatted with him several times while climbing in Warrington he was always great to get on with and never in your face about his awesomeness.
But a lad he climbed with from time to time needed a good slapping ;-)

I love them, No Greg I won’t post a photo on here for your gnome ;-)

I’ve an original trail racer which is too flex compared with my others and I’ll be upgrading to the boost version as soon as I can.

I’ve 2 Carbonara’s one on my Fat Bike and another on my 29er+ and for me they are absolutely perfect for everything that I ride.

I’ve a Grit on my CX bike and after 2 normal CX bikes in the past this takes it to another level.

    Mileage according to Strava
29er Trail Racer (original) 1,876.9 miles
    Fat Carbonara 2,405.9 miles
29er+ Carbonara around 1500 miles swapped on frame from a rigid
    Grit CX fork 789.6 miles

I’m no mtb journalist and I’m no downhiller who loves the “gnar” I’m an xc rider and bike packer and I’ve never had a thought while riding them thinking I wish I had a traditional fork for this trail
