The Fatty’s definitely slower than my other bikes but it was never meant to be fast. I was out on mine at Swinley on Sunday morning and didn’t have any problems keeping up with some of the other riders on the trails

Seconded, on my local flat trails it’s about 10% slower but 50% more fun.
As mentioned before it’s a trail bike, so for beaches you will need to buy and fit a pair of Surly Larry tyres as the Floaters dig in and flick up too much sand making it hard work.

For bivi Fat bike riding look at the Mukluk or the Pugsley etc as they have rack mounts, or travel light weight

    Missed it.

why did they show it on a rest day from The Tour, didn’t it used to follow a stage so that numpties like me didn’t miss it?

It is worth loosing 30 minutes of my life watching it on catch up?

    As was tonight’s race/event/fun ride.

A great event it had everything from a great feel,, nice course, cheerful marshals, great fun, angry dog walkers, local drunks and roadie riders on mtb’s mincing on anything remotely technical.

Last year I raced it and did well.

Tonight I’m taking a silly bike with the aim not to get lapped by any of my mates who are going.

See you there signing on is at 6 race/fun starts at 7

Stuart Hall’s still doing the voice over on the advert.

It’s a shame they aren’t re running the 1st series before this one comes out.

A great program and hope it’s as good in the 2nd series

Does anyone from the above thread live in the south central area of England?

I work for a PVC hose manufacturer, so I’ve no idea about the valves above (sorry) but in the next 6 to 12 months we will need a sales rep with this sort of fluid power experience who lives along the M4 corridor.

Email me in my profile name link if you’re interested.

    Bank Holiday Monday just gone.
2 weeks off the bike and 3 miles from the end of a 68 mile CX ride which seemed to always be into a head wind.

PS, Tuesday morning to collect my lights Troutie 😉

Floaters are great for trail riding they role fast and grip very well but no good in sand as they hold loads of it and flick it everywhere as well as digging in too much.

No problems with allergies in our house with our Red Grizzle Border Terrier, the wire hair isn’t a problem.

    Archie

But the hair loss is out of this world.

Don’t believe anyone who says Border Terriers don’t shed hair. We could knit you one within a week of hoover emptying.

There are loads of Border owners on here, what area are you from I’m sure you can see and spend time with one of ours before you buy.

Fit a removable tow bar and fit a Pendle bike rack to it.

    Job done

Yes I know it’s too much over the passenger side, but it was my first loading up attempt. I’m much better at it now

If you don’t head out on long trips when it’s raining or only for one night get a really good down sleeping bag that is over the top for the temps that you will be sleeping in and sleep in the nude inside it.

It’s a bitch to get into but your body will warm up the sleeping bag and not just the clothes you are trying to sleep in.

Warm the sleeping bag for a great nights sleep not your clothes, as cold clothes don’t heat up the bag.

Also throw in one or two of those disposable or reusable hand warmers for a toasty glow.
