It’s perfect in my current car that came with a DAB radio as standard.

In my old car I fitted a retro fit DAB radio in it and it was rubbish.

John climber – what exactly were you storing in that balloon?

Don’t worry it’s water from the water butt that’s come off the roof.

I did Maghull to apply bridge today. Its all ok no problems at all

Same here I rode from before Maghull to Wigan then up to Chorley Wednesday and back again yesterday this week, it was very dry but it has many shallow rutted sections along this route, plus the weekend will see many fishing competitions going on all the way to Leeds.

I wish your newbies all the best and pack some Sudocrem

Head to the very south and walk and explore around the light house and the hidden beaches.

The Black sands of Talisker Bay is a great short walk for a day off.

    Sorry SSS

    I should have said 1 x 10 is perfect for me and my riding. I don’t think I need 2 x 10.

North Welsh hills for me and Fatty tomorrow and 1×10 will be fine for me.

    Please accept my humble apologies…..

How would you describe the ride characteristics of a fatty?

    Ride = Guaranteed smile inducing.

Bought as stock in Feb, upgrades = Formula brakes, Hope QR’s, Mary Bars, drilled rims were an On One prototype upgrade, rim tape on Ebay.
Larry tyres fitted for sand riding option

    1 x 10 is perfect, you don’t need 2 x 10 IMHO

I’d say 60% fire road, but as you are using them for going up hill you spend 75% of your time on them.

Still the single track is worth it now it’s so little used.

Thank you Llandegla and thank you CYB for your lovely trail centres with your cafe’s, groomed trails, bike shops, bike washes and toilets for taking riders of all abilities and keeping them to yourselves.

Today I fell back in love with The Marin Trail, yes it has more fire roads than single track and yes it climbs more height on fire roads than any other trail centre and yes I got a Fat tyre pinch flat on the very last section that was quicker to push back to the car than fix it on the trail.

But for a quiet loop out in the wilds, which rides so well now that it doesn’t get used like it used to, one which drains really well, with no braking bumps, one that feels so nice, with plenty of things to test you, places to jump and no other riders* & dog walkers blocking your flow it’s now my favourite trail centre, If you want more single track simply do the first climb again and head down the final downhill bit a few times. Plus it’s free car parking = Perfect

Give it a go if you’ve not been for a couple of years**

    * I passed a couple on the first climb and that was all I saw.

** there are a couple of markers missing, at these points turn left and you should be OK [fingerscrossedicon]

    I’m with twoniner.

I even told Brant when it was launched that it needs a granny ring, but as he said it was for a “trail” bike set up.

Since I picked it up in February I’ve never felt the need for a granny ring on mine.

So I’d say buy the £999 full bike and ride it for a while, then if you feel the need for an upgrade then you can do it as and when parts wear out.

Sure did it was ace as normal.

But I can’t believe the number of numpties who think they are invincible and ride the trails without a lid. Even a guy on a full on DH rig blasting down the off piste stuff without a helmet.

I would guess there were 1 in 5 riders from 5pm to 8.30 riding without helmets.

What is it with you 1 in 5 Southerners?

Look out there’s a northerner coming down to ride the proper Swinley trails with some locals tomorrow after work.

Have you got a tiled kitchen floor?

If yes mop it with cold water and leave it wet before you go, even leave soaking wet towels spread across the ground.

A cheap kiddies paddling pool full of cold water left in the kitchen will help, but put them in it a day or two before hand to get them used to it and what it’s there for.
