Jones are expensive because he can get the asking price over in the states for them and there’s no point being a busy fool in producing more to lower the price to make less money if you don’t need to.

As for Titec bars they don’t make them anymore

I’ve not ridden now for 2 weeks and 2 days (not that I’m counting).
But that’s down to stitches not healing and complications, I may be off the bike for another couple of weeks but looking at the weather forecast to come I couldn’t have chosen a better time to be not riding.

I work for a French company.

French people buy French products from French people, it’s been that way for years and they won’t change.

The car park is 95% full of French cars.

Although ALL of the directors and bosses drive BMW’s and my boss has an Audi

I was doing so well up until Thursday evening last week.

A little off cause a knee/muddy rock interface, 3 muddy miles back to car, A&E for 4 stitches no antibiotics but nothing broken. Leg swollen up on Saturday night rushed to hospital where I still remain 4 nights later with the blood infection Cellulitis.

So, this month I won’t get past my 296.9 miles 😕

    Another Aussie wicket 🙂

Australia now 230 for 7 and they need 317 to win , so 92 needed from 54 balls.

3 x 9 on my Mukluk for sand dunes it’s essential

1 x 10 on my Fatty and it’s perfect for trail centres and XC work with it’s Floater tyres as it’s not really designed for sand.

What sort of terrain? If not too rocky and you don’t do a lot of walking bits, then how about overshoes?

Nothing too technical, blue trails or long boring miles. Over shoes would rub under the soles on the flat pedals wouldn’t they, I know all on my over shoes have a strap underneath them so these wouldn’t last more than one or two rides.

Are there wrap around over shoes without a strap.

Well done Jason 2 years running.

Awesome riding, did it ever feel like Guy would catch you, or did you control it from the front all the way round?

I’ve ridden the Isle of Man end2end 3 times. Guy Martin rode 2 of these and I beat him both times over taking him both times at the top of the first big climb.

Now he’s in 2nd place and only 10 minutes behind the leader I don’t think I’ll look for a race with him in as he’s come on so strong he’ll kick my arse. I’ll retire the victor I think.

    Well done Guy……

I completed 2009, 2010, 2011, missed quite a few in 2012 but completed this year.

I’m so looking forward to tomorrow and not taking a photo so it doesn’t tempt me to stay in for another year.

Doing this project really helps you photography skills, at times it does feel like a chore but fighting through those helps you find photos out of nowhere and helps you look for other shots in other places.

Does your “compressor” blow air in a 4mm tube into the filter in your tank?

If so they are a little noisy but new ones are quieter, I’m happy with my Tetra air pump http://www.tetra.net/en/en/aquarium/equipment/air-pumps-and-accessories/tetra-aps-aquarienluftpumpen

Have a search on google shops and they are cheap as well

Just looked into it and my S100 is better than the SX260.

But with the S120 out now the S110 might be worth a look at in the new year, currently it’s £230.

I love my S100 and at that price the SX260 is a steal.

Could be tempted to wait until the boxing day sales myself to see if it drops any more, to have a spare when my S100 dies

Looking at the frame I’m after the biggest Gates Pulley is a 46 in size.

Does anyone know what standard cog tooth size this would be the same as to help with the calculations on Ben’s calculator?

Does a Gates chain ring size equate to the size of a normal chain ring?

No. But what matters is the ratio of front cog to back cog, so as long as you compare the ratios you’re fine

Cheers Ben but what do I need to add into that great gear calculator

I’ve just worked out that a 50 (TOOTH) x 20 (TOOTH) would be a fraction lower at each end at my standard 3 x 9 combo.

But if you say that the Tooth to Pulley ratio isn’t the same what do I put in there for the belt drive to give me the same on a 794mm diameter wheel?
    My 3 x 9 is 44-32-22 with a 32 x 11 on the back with a 740mm wheel diameter.

    Cheers

    Silly question time…..

Does a Gates chain ring size equate to the size of a normal chain ring?
i.e. the front rings seem quite big, does a 50 tooth Gate ring mean the same as a 50 tooth conventional ring?
