    MonsterCross you say?

    Here’s my new FrankenCross

It looks silly, weighs 24lbs and rides so smoothly, it’s fantastic

Here you go search for “handlebar shim”
    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/vision-tt-clip-on-bar-shims/rp-prod36423

Cut them to suit (I cut mine in half), grind the inner to match the slope on your bars, wrap with tape and the jobs done

    JohnClimber

I found some adaptors online that increase the thin part of the bars to make them over sized, I cut them down a bit and grinded the inside to go over the slope, then rapped electrical tape around them for when I need to do the same for longer rides, they work a treat.

Just had a quick search on line but can’t see them, sorry

    Interesting reading here
    http://time.com/3760283/germanwings-german-pilots-association/

And a video linked in to the wording

“Airbus has a YouTube video to instruct A320 crew members about what to do if one of them is trying to get inside the cockpit, but those inside do not open. According to the video, the crew would tap an emergency code on the keypad outside the cockpit door, setting off a 30-second alarm inside the cockpit, until the door opens for just five seconds, allowing the person to enter.”

I’m so glad I sold my road bike 3 years ago when people get away with murder like this.

Just a shame that we have to link trails together with tarmac

    Johnclimber,
Looking forward to the review on the Lauf!
    Thanks,
    Max

Here you go Max, after 100 mile over 2 rides from this weekend.
Be warned I’m no wordsmith or reviewer, but I hope it helps and doesn’t bring out the haters.

    Just remember
If you are happy with your air forks then DON’T down grade to these.

If you’re happy with rigid forks DON’T upgrade to these.

But if you ride rigid bikes and like them but want to take the “trail buzz” and numb hands and fingers out of XC riding over longer rides then Lauf Forks are your answer.

I can confirm the paper copy (thudded onto the doormat an hour ago) is on smelly paper

$hite, Privateer used to give me headaches when reading it because of the smell. If it’s the same I’ll have to down grade to digital only.

I’d always thought Eric Idle would make a perfect Rincewind.

Good call whoever said Andy Serkis for the Librarian.

That was me but good call back for Eric as Rincewind, perfect casting

Read the Colour of Magic in 1986 and everything he’s written since.

Same here, I’ll miss a new book from his pen every Christmas.

In a way one of the things he taught me was there are no such things as gods, and such a nice man dying at 66 is no age, especially after I lost my Mum to Alzheimer’s as well.
Just shows he’ was right and there’s no such thing as gods when the nice people are taken and they leave the $hits

JohnClimber – is there a rider weight limit on those? and what did they cost? In theory that would be perfect to take the edge of my fully rigid.

“In theory that would be perfect to take the edge of my fully rigid” That’s what they are about, not for down hilling rock gardens.

Lucky I’m not a racer then, I’m just looking for a lightweight, maintenance free way of taking the trail buzz out of riding rigid bikes.
Best so far is the fat fronted truss fork on my Jones.

Just starting to look around for a new Ti xc frame. I don’t want another plastic bike. I am in love with a Salsa El Mariachi Ti at the moment. The travers also look good but i dislike the frame decals.

Contact Michael at Travers and he’ll do you a custom one without graphics on if you like.

    Ref “undamped suspension”

    Lauf claim on here http://laufforks.com/lauf-carbonara/

“The Lauf Carbonara has 60mm of travel with progressive spring rate. This means that the further the fork compresses the springs become stiffer. This helps keeping the fork from bottoming out while staying sensitive to small bumps. “

On sale at $909 (£590) including shipping, but that doesn’t cover the
“+VAT and applicable duties in destination country, note that Iceland is not in the EU”

Claber’s standard hose kinks less that Hozelock’s standard hose.

IMHO – For the best set up on the market available to Joe Public look no further than Claber’s “Silver Green” hose.

If you want a great spray gun you need a Hozelock multi spray gun pro 2688

    http://www.hozelock.com/watering/spray-guns/spray-guns-2/multi-spray-gun-pro-2688.html

And yes I have worked for both these companies as a rep.

Too late but tricolfex hose and gecka fittings FTW.

Hozelock owned Tricoflex before the recent by out now they are sister companies.
as thepurist says Tricoflex is a great hose as it’s more of a commercial irrigation hose.

Tricoflex is defiantly worth the money as is Claber’s Silver Green

Lets hope they do a better job than the loiverpool end, rough in places, and also the shropie in chester, like a fairground ride, numerous poor surfaces.

The Liverpool end is great all the way to Lydiate (apart from a little bit before Aintree)
It’s really bad west of Wigan near the Blue Elephant and I hated the bit between the A59 to Skipton last year.

Bought and sold on my 11 speed, to many gears slipping and nuts in head set moments, there’s fine tuning of the white dot to white line and there’s Alfine fine tuning (another level of finer tuning)
