BMW 3 series with no options and no sports suspension will still cost more that the £22k a Skoda vRS hatch costs with all the toys.
Get over the badge it’s a great car

I love my estate vRS but I’m having to hand it back at the end of the month as I’m changing jobs. It’s the only good thing about my current job.
It’s a very rapid car that great over long drives, it loves country lanes.
The best company car I’ve had so far

17,000 miles and it’s only been the garage once, but due a service in 1,500 miles.
Take you bike and while they service it go for a spin

No worries, cheer for the tip but they do normally say no overnight parking.
I guess I could park on the street in the area if it does and I can’t find anyone with a driveway near the trail from Hexham to Newcastle in this area.

    Thanks all.

Garden leave granted apart from one trip to the office to hand over my phone, paper work and laptop etc. Plus I’ve got the use of the company car until June 30th.

Now hurry up summer I want a sunny June of riding my bikes

But you do have a point.

    Thanks for the advice above.
I think I’ll put in that I’m going to work for another company is the same industry, which in a round about way I am, although not a direct competitor it is a similar type of product and can be used for the same applications (if you stretch the imagination)
And if asked who are they I won’t tell them.

Cheers all. FYI I work remotely as a rep and do not see them face to face.

I am going to a competitor of sorts, so maybe I could use that.

I was thinking of a short resigning email to the top team.

The a slightly bitter one to my line manager.

    Cheers

TrekEX8 and Project are correct as to how to find the start of the FOOT PATH, so give way and be pleasant to walkers to ensure we can all ride it, but don’t turn left off the fire road climb too early.

It’s around 2.75miles from the car park, after the big exposed climb finishes at a fire road cross road. Go straight over here where it goes slightly downhill, it bears left and up to another fire road cross road.

It’s this one where you turn left.
It’s easy to spot because if you go straight over the main track turns a sharp right before curving left.

Enjoy and if you fall, fall to the left ;-)

Diesel VRS Octarvia estate driver here and of all my 20 years of company cars it’s they one I’d ask for again.
Great motorway acceleration when you knock it down a gear or two.

Currently 45.6 average mpg and I’ve a heavy right foot.

Contact On One, when mine snapped they sent a complete new post to me FOC so I had a spare bolt from the back of the original one.

Another mate had the problem so they are aware of it.

Or just buy a better seat post

Although it’s tempting to “have a go” in your letter.

1st do a very simple one like the one from Dannyh to HR and your boss only.

If he/she doesn’t agree to your terms then email them your notice again mentioning a few more things and copy in more people as so on.

    Good luck

Heard a couple of negative stories about belt drive systems. What causes them to fail?

Downshep, email me, my address is in my members name link clicky thing.

The Laufs weighed in on my wife’s cheapy digital kitchen scales with the full stearer not cut down at 1005g.
So the 990g is about right on calibrated scales.

Have you seen how strong they are?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fRd3qzhcJI

No wearing parts, no stiction, no need to service, up to 60mm of travel for under 1kg what’s not to like?

Plus you can’t see them when you are riding so if you think they look ugly it won’t be you who’s looking at them.

They are designed to absorb the ride and take the trail buzz out of riding rigid. So an upgrade from rigid forks or for those on suspension who want to lighten up but don’t want to go to fully rigid.

If you want an all mountain fork look elsewhere but for most UK riding they are perfect, get them on a nice Ti frame and it will ride all day every day.

Stop tempting us John, that frankencross is the berries!
One day a custom Ti 29″ with lauf forks shall be mine! Just needs an IGH or P1.18 with gates carbon drive for fit and forget convenience.

Forget the belt drive, I’ve been there, done that had the long walk back and I’ll never go back, the 12 mile walk back to the start of the ride put pay to that, chain drive for fit and forget.

Huh, how about that: crazy forks plus crazy bars equals looks sort-of right for some reason

Function is so much more important than form when designing a bicycle.

Why thank you, it’s built with a Travers titanium Rudy 29er frame, Lauf Trail Racer forks, Brooks Cambium saddle, Ison Genetic Digest Bars, plus the 3 x 9, Thompson seatpost, BB7’s and Stans Flow wheels off my old Niner.
