your skirting boards will take a hammering too. My aunt had a couple and their shells screwed the skirting so if your house proud or hate painting all the time I d think again.

    Cool pet tho.

Done Innerleithen red, followed by Glentress red. My legs are hurting now! Another fabulously beautiful sunny day in the tweed valley.

Yeah if I had payed the list price for it!! I didnt. I got a 22k car for 15k – two years on they still selling for 15k+.

Thats good, but you still needed to finance the £15k and you've probably lost some anyway:

    http://www.bristolstreet.co.uk/U111368-aexp/vauxhall_astra_2.0t_16v_vxr_nurburgring_3dr?utm_source=DMR&utm_medium=CPC&utm_referrer=DMR

This is known as the 'hidden' cost, as its not until you actual sell that you know the true running cost of any car.

Nurburgring's only come in white. That is not a Nurburgring.

I probably will lose money tho. Will need to do the sums first and see whats what.

Here's one from piston heads. A bit optimastic on the price I think.

Dave_r you'll love it. 29.9mpg is good for a 240bhp car. Just getting to expensive for me now. I cant justify spending that amount a wedge just to get to work quickly.

I think b r has it. His figures will be the depreciation of his vauxhall. Then there's his fuel on top.

My model is Astra VXR Nurburgring Edition. I had similar thought about buying a vauxhall at beginning to but I couldnt afford a S3 and the price was right for a brand new VXR.

Trail rat- Our second car was an Aygo its an awesome little car.

Hora- Totally agree with that comment, you could really enjoy a car like this with a fuel card.

I think there is (See my last post above)

    £3400 @ £1.10/l (Average) = 3091 l
    3091 / 4.55 = 679.3 gallons
    8000 miles / 679.3 = 11.8mpg

    Which can't be right.

At 18000 miles it works out to be 26.5, which is closer. I reckon it's a typo.

Sorry guys I did mess up. When I reset trip computer 8000miles ago it must not have reset the gallons consumed part.

My car has done 20500 miles. I was working it out at £5 a gallon for quickness. I've used 685 gallons. 29.9mpg.

Still I think it has to go.

GET IT CHECKED OUT. My mate had a lump on his throat and he ignored it until he had trouble breathing, Went to docs and it was thyroid cancer!!! He fine now had to get an OP and some radiotherypy.

Guys tend to ignore stuff like this and not go to doctors. Thats why so many of us die of testicular cancer.

hi trekster , no Im in glasgow. I guess I'm not to confident on bouldery trails since going down on my head on the black trail at GT lol. It was one amight grind of a day(AE), I dont think the weather helped. I did like the tight bits between trees and the duckboard bit up top. I'll try again in the summer.

I've had time to reflect and although I still think it was hell on earth yesterday I m going to go back I hate not finishing something. But yesterday be time we go to Omega man we were ruined! I think the wind and rain had took their toll. Also it was 4.40 and bikes had to be back for 5pm we had no idea how close we were to trailhead.

At least with innerleithen and glentress all the graft is done at the start.

Thanks for responses. The weather was pretty wet rain and first then drizzle and mist all day, we had four newbie bikers with us so alot of stops added to the time considerably.

It didnt help that we took a wrong turn and headed 3 miles straight up a killer climb fire road!

by the time the 3 remaining guys got to Omega man we were so shattered and pushed for time(bike hire and me having to get home and ready for work) that we just rode down path next to trail!

There was some good bits. But I felt the trail condition was pretty poor overall.

Great pictures GOON. Last ones a cracker. I laughed like hell at boxers on guard duty. I got a boxer too and he's hopeless security wise, I reckon he'd show a burgler where I keep my car keys lol.

I have a guard attached to my downtube which stops the dirt going all up your front. I'm going to get a neoprene guard that fits between the travel area on the front fork to stop high speed spray getting into my face.

I bought one of these today also. I've never broke my wrist but injured it about 6 months ago helping my mate slab his driveway.

I only get problems with it once I start going downhill so I bought the wrist guard to try and support my wrist better.

    Hopefully it'll do the job.

WOZZA does that stuff stop all your symptoms? Runny nose, itchy eyes, sneezing?

I've had all the tablets going with varied results. I also got a steriod injection a couple of years ago and it was bliss, No symptoms at all that year. Got it last year, and it was useless.

Ill give this stuff a go. Thanks for the link.

I was only on fire roads. Some bikers were on trails but I didnt see any of them to ask what state they were in.

I reckon they'd be pretty bad still. Hard compact ice under tree cover in some places.

Where I took picture the fire road was under about a foot of snow.

That'll explain my missing dog 😯

What kind of dog is he/she? I had this problem with my boxer a couple of years ago.

Vets had no idea so off we went to the animal hospital. Me being the worried owner agree to an Ultrasound(£500) which showed something in his stomach so they wanted to put an endoscope down his throat which I agreed to. That day I got a call from Doctor to say they wanted to open him up for a better look and as he was still under anesthetic I had to make a quick choice.

They took biopsies of his stomach and intestine they also removed a node from his stomach.

Some big expensive tests were carried out with no unusual results. Then they found some dodgy bacteria in his intestines and presumed that was the problem.

With hindsight I wish we hadn't went down the surgery route. I wish we stuck to finding a medication cure before cutting him.

He ended up on Steroids and Royal Canin sensitivity control food for ages but I weaned him off the steroids due to side effects and the fact they were killing my dog slowly.

How are things now? Well we're still on the Royal Canin food(£60 for 14kg) and no sickness(Apart from if he eats a stick or something)!!!! THIS FOOD HAS TRANSFORMED MY DOG!!! Its expensive but its amazing!

Insurance bill to date £2800. Thank god for dog insurance, Although I really do believe the Animal hospital was rubbing hands when they heard he was insured it was the first question they asked when we walked in!!
