Argos do a few. I’ve got this one, quite impressed with it so far: http://www.argos.co.uk/product/6084422

It is only good for the higher bits, I have a regular one by the same company for ‘close up’ trimming too

Bear In mind that the weight is on the end of a long pole so can get heavy very quickly

Let’s not forget we killed 30,000 French Civilians bombing France in the run up to D-Day!

Well that’s a win for starters. Not sure what Shaughnessy was doing with Madine’s shirt but a win’s a win

Mrs_d had a mkIV Astra on a 97 R plate. It was ok until the ECU went loco. Can’t remember how many miles it had on it at the time but wasn’t an unreasonable number

Symptoms included randomly overheating after as little as five minutes. Turn off, back on, it would then be fine. Until it decided to do it again. No predictability about it. Half engine rebuild didn’t fix it

It’s not that big. Maybe 12in bow to stern. And about as tall. The US obviously learnt something from the Swedes a couple of centuries earlier ;-)

I did a 1:100 sailing ship once. Vowed I’d never do rigging again

    Did I mention I’m a contractor?
None of the corporate BS here but I find time passes quicker if you do actually get on with the people you’re working with.

Still means I CBA to go out socially with them after hours though. I guess I could check into a local hotel (public transport to Ripon from anywhere other than Harrogate is a non-starter) but that means spending the money I’ve just earned!

I’m using IPad, IPhone and pc. It’s only easy with Flickr on the pc. Nigh on impossible with IOS as far as I can see.

I used to use photobucket but that’s shot itself in the head, so imgur looking like my choice for posting from apple devices

Just bought a Revell 1:48 Stearman. Looking at the packaging it’s either a new kit or just new packaging. Instructions are in colour and very similar to the instructions for the new Airfix kits, e.g the 1:48 Boulton Paul Defiant.
Not sure about rigging a biplane though. Done it before with black cotton thread, looks messy, there has to be a better way

Yeah the Black Sheep brewery tour is good. There’s also Theakstons across the other side of the village. Black Sheep started as a spin-off of Theakstons when Paul Theakston didn’t like the idea of the family firm being sold to Scottish & Newcastle. Theakstons is independent once more but has led to there being two biggish breweries run by members of the same family in the same (non-Tadcaster) village

York is well worth a day out. Leeds for retail therapy and a night out. Whitby is nice if you want seaside and vampires. North York Moors railway for a steam train from Pickering to Whitby and a bit of Heartbeat TV nostalgia; speaking of TV nostalgia, the Herriott museum at Thirsk is worth a visit too

For the last twenty years my job, wherever it is, has been about an hour commute away, so any social events require an overnight stay. Not happening. I guess they all think I’m a bit of a misery but hey what the hell

The ‘buy our excess insurance or pay the $2k excess now” trick seems to be standard airport car rental desk policy these days, I first saw it in Dublin in 2013, don’t remember it before that, but since then I’ve seen it in Dublin again and now Vancouver

I was there in June with just my UK plastic licence, that was fine at the Alamo desk

I’ve seen it done where the panel lines & a bit of panel either side are painted black over primer but before colour coat. Seems to work but I haven’t tried it yet

Don’t forget the insurance to cover your $2000 excess, or paying the excess up front, just in case.

I booked through Economy Car Rentals, which when I got to the airport turned out to be a booking agency, who had booked me through Alamo.
I booked a Ford Escape (Kuga) or equivalent. Ended up with a Jeep Wrangler. Much bigger on the outside, not much bigger on the inside. 600km range on a tankful. My X3 does 600 miles on a tankful. Granted the price of gasoline there is $1.25 / litre rather than £1.13 / litre but still, it was a thirsty beast

Call Ford Assist, they’re like AA/RAC/etc. Will come out& diagnose, and if it requires a tow/recovery, they’ll do that too. Chances are it’ll be covered by warranty.

You have been getting it serviced, right?

Career progression. You are the boss and will always be the boss but there is no career progression to mention.

What is Career Progression anyway? Is it simply jumping from being a team member to a team leader or manager? Or something else?

I have no desire to ever become a team leader or manager, nor do I have the skills / personality (imo).
Yes skills can be learned but if you’re not a natural leader, can that be taught?

Is continuing to do what you are good at considered to be lack of career progression? Or lack of ambition? And why is that seen, if it is, as a bad thing?

New owner. New head coach. 10 new players and counting. Can we go one better than last season and not fall away during April?
Too many unknowns there but if we can get another CH and a LB we might, just might, be able to improve on seventh in the EFL Championship.

Brick. Back when I lived in Beirut, sorry Bradford, lovely next door neighbour encouraged his small child to drop a brick on my car from their first floor bedroom window. Left a nice dent in the bonnet, complete with 5mm central bullseye

Plasticine? I did a 1/72 262 a few years ago, think I used a combination of plasticine and lead shot

Have you tried using the weights that anglers use?
Or if you have a radio controlled model shop handy, they usually sell lead weights in strips of 2.5g & 10g. Although the nose of a 1/72 Me262 is a tad small, all you need to do is get the weight forward of the main wheels
