I have a mate who had critical illness cover. He's one of the very pale-skinned, ginger haired types (except he's lost what ginger hair he did have).
He got diagnosed with skin cancer. Had the surgery, chemo, radio etc. Critical Illness cover paid up. Paid off his mortgage. And he survived the cancer, so ok he has a scar on his arm, but he has no mortgage. Lucky man.

I'd say think about it if there's a history of say cancer in the family, or you're a pale-skinned ginger-haired sun-worshipper…

    1) tell him of your suspicions, in a "quiet word in your ear" kind of way
    2) assuming it's not DVDs that he's watching, in which case I doubt any blocker would stop that, then keep monitoring him. If he persists, "I'm going to have to go official"
    3) Websense or some such blocker at the network firewall
    or
    4) grass him up. He's there to work, not watch porn (or football or anything else that distracts him from his paid employment)

Yup that's why there's no crime in America.

yet by comparison, per capita, there's very little crime in Canada, yet they share the same landmass.
I reckon it's down to all the bears.

yeah, that's right. feed 'em to the bears

none particularly worth voting for but a vote for anyone else is a vote against the BNP.

Remember, "for evil to succeed, good men need do nothing" or something like that

    er, ok

about 15 years ago, mid october, I answered the door to a young lad (maybe 12-13)
    "Happy Halloween" he said
"thanks very much" I replied. And closed the door.

Happy Halloween? WTF? It's Samhain don't you know?

usually "the die has been cast" refers not to a die (multiple – dice, often a cube but sometimes 4 or more faces, all numbered) but to the process of casting, usually something in a mould.

Never bought a "die-cast metal" Dinky or Corgi model?

    yeah, you 'take a leak'

and as for "better than half price" – better for whom? The customer or the retailer? The correct arrangement of words is "Less than half price", or is that too difficult?

"can I get?" of course you can, that's why you came here isn't it, you dolt?

depends how big it is. North facing postage stamp? rip it up & replace with gravel. No mowing, ever ;-)

Or you could returf it in the spring. But first you'd need to skim off the existing turf. Use a regular spade but a very shallow angle, using your thigh to push the spade along just under the surface.
Then rake it, rake it & rake it again to make it level. Then stomp all over it to firm it. Then repeat until it's really flat.

Or you could throw grass seed down now after skimming it (as above)

what you need is a swivel chair, a head light and a 12 bore shotgun.

sit in wait for them on the chair at night, when they surface, blam blam!

Dave Grohl would be a good choice.

I hadn't spotted Jim Morrison in your list TBH
Cozy Powell – a good reason not to drive & phone…

I saw Siouxsie on Sky Arts HD a few weeks ago with her new band. doing mostly Banshees stuff, mostly good but Spellbound was absolutely awful – flat & slow. New stuff was fine though

an 80s band is to me a band that happened, and then stopped happening, in the 80s. Like a band that I was in at the time.

Does anybody call The Rolling Stones a "60s band"? (ok, they are in their 60s but that's another issue!)

NMA are as current as they always have been. Go see them live, you'll see what I mean.
