Not necessarily Italian. There's a guy plays for spurs, Luca Modric, who I think is Croatian

Whatever names you give him, make sure you use the first one, it'll be less irritating for him in later life. My first name is Andrew & I hate it when people who don't know me address me with it

we have a factory in Middlesbrough & we used to have one in Stockton. Strangely enough, the factory in Middlesbrough used to be in Stockton, but it moved. It's still known as Stockton though.

Could be worse. Could be Sunderland

we need 200 t-shirts printing up with this on & a mass walk across this blessed footpath wearing said t-shirts. Would he get it? I doubt it. But it might be fun…

I'll post this up on the BikeMagic > North Leeds forum thread – we do the Harden/St Ives/Altar Lane/Cullingworth/Manywells/Wilsden circuit on a very regular basis and we don't want to rub this fella up the wrong way until RoW man has had his say.

I have a feeling that this will all end in tears. If he is as agressive as he's been painted on more than one occasion, a visit by the RoW officer may just make him worse.

Just a thought – not a well known former show-jumper of these parts is it?

Was physically confronted and pushed in the chest when I attempted to cross the stile part way across. I offered to carry my bike, even asked if it'd be OK if I took the wheels out. No. Apparently.

at best that's a criminal assault by the landowner. Call the old bill. And then Bradford Council RoW officer. and organise a mass trespass.

in the meantime, if you're wanting to cross Harden Moor, and this is the b/w – f/p where you had the problem: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=407250&Y=439565&A=Y&Z=120 – then there's another permissive b/w which goes all the way across, approx 1/4 a mile nearer to Harden – here: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=408050&Y=439290&A=Y&Z=120.

It's also arguably more interesting from a MTBer point of view

That map shows it as a f/p but I've been riding it for at least 8 years and it's marked on the ground as a permissive bridleway

Up near the top of Altar Lane by any chance?

Newly arsey landowner up there by all accounts. You could leave your bike on the B/W and walk alone across the footpath & he'd still have a go

    and there's more:

Nothing Compares To You – Sinead O'Connor, written by Prince. Actually, an improvement on the original, IMO
I Will Always Love You – Whitney Houston, written by Dolly Parton. Not an improvement

'Light my Fire' by Will young, what a musical masterpiece. Straight from the cum stained lips of the rebel himself.

Someone should have been shot for that one. I know state sponsered murder might seem a little harsh for a bad song but really, have you heard it?

actually, WY's version is a pretty faithful reproduction of Jose Feliciano's murdering of said song. So perhaps we should string up JF & not WY instead

I seriously doubt that. RAF Waddington (I assume that's the airbase in question) is about 2-3 miles outside Lincoln.

IIRC the Nagasaki bomb didn't have a blast radius much bigger than that, and that was equivalent to several thousand tons of TNT, not several thousand pounds

Cash back credit cards should be used for everything else and payed off in full every month.

I beg to differ. cash is king for supermarket shopping in this house. and before you say "it's not insured if you buy it with cash" I rarely buy anything expensive enough to be worth insuring. especially food.

Well it was mentioned that ingerland will play brazil in the w/c semi final Last night. can't see it at the min

me neither. England + penalties + 1/4 final = fail

mind you I couldn't give a rats arse about England as long as my club team gets promoted. A bit squeaky bum time at the mo but still in a good position. If the season finished tomorrow I'd be happy.

I had one job for just 2 months before I moved on. Should I put that on my CV? It's not on there at the moment.

reason(s) I left were (a) too far to travel (b) nothing to do when I got there (c) had a better offer 20 miles nearer home, more money and enough work to keep me busy…

I'm still at (c) now, over 9 years later

But it was a nasty challenge and he only did it after hurting himself in a challenge with the player a few years before

I think I was at that game. Haaland was a Leeds player at the time, and it was at Elland Road, if it's the game I'm thinking of. ManU were losing 1-0 to the (then) mighty whites, and Keane completely lost control of himself. If he hadn't injured himself so badly, he would have been sent off.

it would be a bit like being on stage facing the audience compared with being in the audience facing the stage.
