diagonal yellow & black stripes across most of the undersurface denote a "target tug", I think; if they were simply chordwise stripes then that's a different thing altogether

£40 too much to spend on footwear but you shop at M&S? 😯

Are Walkleys still trading then? I might look into that, I have no idea what happened to my clogs

    And yes, I am Northern.

NMA – New Model Army. An english rock band with hints of both folk and punk. Formed in Bradford in 1980, they and their fans used to wear clogs. Myself included

When you come to the risky looking bits, get off and walk. That's what I do

not sure I'd recommend that. I tried it once, in the wet. Ended up in hospital for a few days with this:

5'8" and 10st seems borderline underweight to me. Unless you're made of pipecleaners 😉

I'm waaaay overweight and working on that, but my mojo "has been injured this year" 😉

Is that Bradford on Avon ?

I live in Baildon (about 5 miles away from Bratfud) and, while june was dry, it's rained every day since.

Prius doesn't come in estate format so has no place in this thread 😉

No it's not wrong. You're not the one observing a religious festival.

DrJ's colleague was bang out of order though; if he doesn't want to drink alcohol, fine, but to impose his religious views on the rest of the group is not on.

I had one. Lovely car but "estate" is stretching it – actually, that might not be a bad idea…

I have a swedish vauxhall now. 9-3. Much bigger boot but still fits on the drive

for space & not too dear, try a mk2 Vectra. Huge inside & a couple of years since they were replaced so should be cheap. Not as pretty as an Alfa though

    john_drummer

BMW? expensive to buy, not much bigger than Alfa sportwagon, expensive to insure. Surprisingly not expensive to run otherwise

And other drivers still don't let you out

Lagos is lovely – plenty big enough town to eat every meal in a different restaurant if you want to, but none of the late night noisy disco stuff you'd get in, say Albufeira.

TBH there weren't that many Brits there when we visited, although that was 11 years ago; mostly kiwis backpacking/inter-railing – the town has the westernmost railway station on the Algarve.

We stayed at the Iberlagos apartments on the south side of town, opposite the fire station. Pretty quiet even in the middle of June, but as said, it was 11 years ago – are they still there and still called Iberlagos? Reasonable sized pool, but you can go down the steps down the cliff to the small cove/beach below if you prefer.

some places even sell milk in half-pint (or 250ml) tetrapak cartons if 1 pint / 500ml is too much.

Having worked in Rotherham and now working in Barnsley, I think i'd agree with that particular tag – apart from the accent/dialect

now it has another one related to me. and again, I didn't do it.

    I'm intrigued now

funnily enough, this thread is now also tagged with "super Leeds United".

    wasn't me 😯

    john_drummer

I found a thread that I'd posted into had the tag "super Leeds United" allegedly posted by me

Now I admit to being a fan of said football club, but I've never tagged a thread with anything, let alone something not even related to the thread (I think it was the New Romantics thread).
    Weird.

If she's willing to spend time in a smelly* tour van with you, I reckon you might just have a chance.

Just ask her if she's seeing anyone, that way at least you'll know

*tour vans are always smelly 😉

the M62. Although generally it's worse going home. Specifically the stretch between J29 & J26, and the hole between the motorway and Shipley.

I prefer to stay on the M1 now as far as the Leeds outer ring road, then go round the north side of Leeds. Further, but doesn't take any longer – go figure…

I know Harden quite well. Hate that climb up into St Ives – only ever cleaned it once, which for me is quite an achievement. I thought my lungs were coming out of my ears at the top though

I hated The Human League, especially the Dare era stuff. My sister was well into it 🙁

I just missed out on "proper" punk but got into The Clash, The Damned, Siouxsie & The Banshees after the fact. Adam & The Ants' Kings Of The Wild Frontier was, and still is, a fine album.

But then I started getting into Bauhaus, Killing Joke, The Southern Death Cult, Cocteau Twins, that kind of thing, around the time that New Romantic started to break.

And then The Sisters Of Mercy, Skeletal Family, Play Dead, Three Johns, The Meteors (briefly), XMal Deutschland, Fields Of The Nephilim, New Model Army. But never Alien Sex Fiend or Specimen for some reason

So no, definitely NOT a New Romantic 😉

Who cares what your family & friends think? If you don't want to date, don't do it. It's your life, not theirs

Having said that, I wouldn't know where to start if I found myself single again. Down the gym I think…

BK given the choice, but they're a bit thin on the ground near me, and the service is usually very poor.
Nearest one closed about 2 years ago; the building is currently being refurbed as a KFC despite there being another less than 3 miles away

McD breakfast is ok, as are the chicken leg ends. Won't touch anythiing else though

    Kfc grease on a stick

Wendy's were nice in Canada. Tim Horton's donuts are something else….

16.9% APR is typical for a credit card; loans are usually cheaper than that.

Sainsburys bank, for example, is offering 7.8% APR if you have a Nectar card: http://www.sainsburysbank.co.uk/borrowing/micro/bor_loans_agg1_apply.shtml?source=NETVLSSMLOANAGG10001

    I don't think so.
We uploaded all our songs using the BBC Introducing thing but we seem to be of little interest to them or something; all songs have now been dropped from their database as they haven't been played on air or forwarded to any of the other stations/shows in the last 60 days

Been on AmazingRadio a lot though

cynic-al – "that's chad" doesn't mean anything to me either.

The Wick Effect refers to the principle by which "Spontaneous" Human Combustion is said to occur. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wick_effect

I have no idea what "that's wick" means but I suspect it's not good 😉

fbfw – cheers mate; no plans to play the midlands just yet but if it sells well, who knows?
