Can we talk about them, I have questions..

    1. Would they not be better mounted on the wheel axles?

    2. Would it work to strap them to a helmet to stop your head (eyes) wobbling?

    3. How long until we see one at a trail centre near you?

    4. If you added one to a plane on a conveyor belt…..?

Could be forgetfulness/stressed teacher – you don’t know

Oh its pretty easy to figure the teachers are overrun and then stressed out of the 200 days the Senco at our school works she has 360 kids to assess even at a day per child you can see the system is well and truly broken

I have no doubt in my mind the passion for her work in that woman will eventually run out

Heres some Irony and let me say i completely feel and have lived your frustrations , my eldest is exactly the same.

By  nuclear I assume you dont mean my nuclear of removing her totally from the school then starting a group with 300 other parents who are organising legal proceedings against the school police and education authority. And thats before the policy which they say doesnt exist of offrolling the poorest performing kids with the most needs comes to the chat

Two sides to the argument here and I see both but one is not my problem

Schools massively underfunded in their send needs so cannot afford to provide the level of support required, its a business at the end of the day no matter how much lipstick you put on the pig, poor performers or high maintenance dont generate good ofstead or money

I dont run the school if the HOY cant manage to cut his/her cloth with what they have  then you can expect the legal repercussions of failing to protect childrens mental wellbeing and health and progress

Some kids will be 18 before they even get to see a specialist ,being put through the meat grinder of the system with their particular flavour of add/adhd (insert other here) being the only option which is massively damaging , problem doesnt belong to the school after GCSEs

It took 9 months to get a private diagnosis for ours luckily we had the money but many others do not and even if you can afford the private system is now chokka with parents looking for answers as to why their darlings are not flourishing that once you have an answer the school is still in the same position , they just cant help

    Not a helpful attitude but

Its going to need a legal precedent to be set to get the government and education authority doing their effing job properly and the only way to do this it seems after 3 years of trying to work with the school, is to lawyer up, the feedback I get from other parents is the school complaints policy is a closed shop complaints system with no positive outcome for the children

Maybe facebook, digging a bit deeper witb other parents whos kids attend the school is best port in this storm

my child is now much more engaged in learning and goes to college once a month to asess her progress, it has literally been massive improvements all round

It does indeed state N1 on the logbook , new 5 seater,  and indeed there has been some discussion with owners about the reduced speed limits,  none of the things i mentioned apply to the eberlingo which for my use was not capable enough for trips I do 500 miles a week via two 250 mile trips wasnt really qorried by the speed limits due to even the m1 now being 55 mph , i tend to bimble along at 55 most trips, basically if it came with the mesh bulkhead even the k9 pre facelift version check the logbook

I have a beige sand one with the orange bits just about to hit 80k and its never ever had a single problem except the shonky utter bag of crap adblue system which has had failed injectors galore in the 6 years ive owned it from new apart from that i havent a single complaint mines still in really good nick , which is why ive just bought the new facelift version….more on that later

It has suffered like the two cactus we owned with the adblue they both failed at 17k and 23k respectively with citroen claiming theres nothing wrong with the system and we would have to foot the bill first time we took it on the chin second time we joined the law suit brigade thats currently taking claims at citroen due to their lack of admissions with faults and rinsing people who have had them to fix them

New one we just bought cost less than a used flair xtr its now called the max xtr however remember its now classed as a light commercial because some pillock homologation rules

Requires commercial insurance so ours shot up from 380 to 675

Tax will be 335 a year for life of van ownership

Has a bulkhead bolted in between the rear seats and the boot, insurer wasnt sure if removal counted as a modification to vehicle so its still in there ( honest)

Removing the bulkhead leaves two shitty holes in the headliner which looks crap

Im about to put it up for sale as they seem to hold money well even with big miles on them

The industry needs a proper regulator to remove the worst practices and companies, unfortunately the Tory proposals will make a bad situation worse

I did used to follow it after our initial run in with one but haven’t for the past year or two , well since they pulled the newer legislation so you probably are better informed on the topic than someone who was skim reading it

Whilst I don’t condone the felling of the ULEZ poles and my comment was made a bit tongue in cheek regards the ANPR poles, there’s still a part of my youth that says I do chuckle when a spot of anarchist behaviour happens .

I get the impression, certainly from the people I’ve dealt with, that the PCN companies are an absolute blight and cause them a lot of headaches

The government tried to bring in legislation to stop this crap in2022 and the Car parking Co’s lobbied against it , literally 3 months after ,my memory is hazy the government then halted plans to introduce it citing further impact analysis to be carried out , many read this as someone with money got in there to stop their wings being clipped in what they could charge. Cynical at best I know but , maybe it’s time to invent some kind of roller blind or flap that looks like a bin liner that covers your number plate upon entry , the law says nothing about appendages that may deploy at inconvenient times , the court I went to which I was sadly disappointed did not in anyway appear as grand as those artist impressions you see on the news , was basically a bloke in a room who I got the impression should be dealing with more urgent matters than a car parking dispute

I’m sure some industrious scally could organise a group of his mates who could use their time more usefully cutting down anpr cameras.

Would it be illegal in any way to cover your plates when using car parks with ANPR?

Once did this leaving a Tesco car park local to us

Also iirc this was the same site where they noted the government capped the pcn charges to 120 and reasonable cost  so the statement I made was quite true

They can oly charge you the ticket price plus their costs , ours was looking at a 300 quid bill all in 120 for the ticket and 180 for their costs which is bizzarre as the court small claims bill was 80 quid

We took a gamble as we could afford it and thought you f…… can work for your money rather than us give it to you

Put a very carefully photographed 36 pages of  them document together  video showing no signs on entry photos in the same lighting conditions , detailed positions where we were parked and the distances to the nearest signs , ours was round a corner and you would need to go looking

It took a good few hours to put together and my hourly rate for that was 120 an hour ( which i corroborated with my hourly rate for my job) argued that as well as the courts time being wasted they had wasted mine and could I claim for costs ,

Turns out they didnt have planning permission for the signs or anpr pole so got their arses handed to them by the council planning dept, id read about it but no one had ever been done for it in court , they didnt show anyway so adjudication bloke ignored it , gave me my costs for my time that morning though not for the document creation , where he kind of smiled and went really? I took it as a wink to sod off while i was ahead

Were the signs easily visible ? If your going to cough up full now might as well drag it out

Appeal it will fall on deaf ears

Go to tribunal you have a 50/50chance of winning , was it dark ? legislation says you must be able to easily see the signs from a seated position in the car ….a tiny shitty sign 50 metres away wont cut it especially if its dark, signs must be a minimum size and easily visible upon entering the car park

We went to court with ours ,parking weasel failed to attend , won by default but adjudicator did say no way would parking company have won with what they presented which was a copied and pasted document they regularly use in their cash generation scheme, and he was more pissed that we dare take up the courts time with a trivial matter and they hadnt the decency to show

Another idea go back to pub point out you were a punter and can they have a word to get it put right

, I’d not delete the eSim – rather, I’d just de-activate it in the phone settings. (Granted, I learnt this the hard way and I’ve only tried eSims for US travel – I was pleasantly surprised I could de

This is where the problem was it wouldnt deactivate hence it couldnt be transferred to another phone I was using e sim from its rollout so i could use another network as a backup if needed

it wouldnt de activate hence couldnt be transferred to another device in the end the technical people said erase it , after which they said we will send you a code to re authorize it , must have expired and that was obviously tech speak for we dont know.

In the end it never worked again and i got a physical sim , so now you know why a person deleted it , at the request of the technical know how people at the service provider

I suppose my point was rather than f about with codes and e whatever it took less than a minute to eradicate the problem for good and take one sim out put one in

Just gone back to a traditional sim after a two week battle with a pixel 7a and tesco mobile

Phone wouldnt delete the esim meaning it could not be transferred to my new s24 Tesco tried everything but I was left without a phone for two weeks

I got a giffgaff sim for 10 quid and simply put it in the phone , no authorizing, de authorizing erasing resetting required

Took 30 seconds and I can switch it  between phones no silly call centre guy telling me to reset this that and the other just take it out insert provider of choice.

    Talk about overcomplicating something SIMple

YMMV but im not a fan

I went through numerous training courses for management the posts I held, including regular refresher courses. My experience and clinical knowledge meant I fully understood the roles of staff and what they were expected to do as I had done the job. Those that were management from outside others areas didn’t always understand or took a long time to learn.

And this was partially my point.

Too many highly paid managers managing managers, and not enough nurses nursing

My second point by someone who works in the NHS, my wife concurs.

Again I suspect that the reason that GPs are/were so cost effective was that a small to medium sized GP surgery is a very efficient and agile unit of organisation, at least until we started to be micromanaged.

THis has been proven even in my world of trials within the civil service realm, many times over, only to be overidden because dave who has been here 55 years is up for retirement soon and as a senior civil says what goes, mainly because no one wants to tell him things have moved on

    Epic evo comp 2023 2499

    Chisel fs comp 2025 2700

    both at certini

Only the base was 2k and with such a crap spec that you would need to spend 500 quid to bring it up to the competition , there were plenty of other bikes on sale where you would need to be shilling for specialized to discount them

Heres an idea why not buy one and come back and tell us if its any good

We’re getting warmer…. anyone on here actually ridden one then ?

But we arent are we as everyone so far has said they bought an epic for less and no one has acctually ridden one or will care till they sell out of epics , the epic 8 is now on sale too ….

Nice…that’s the epic full xc one…very nice. I went for the expert evo instead in the rust red…

I liked that but couldnt find one at the time id rather had the evo but instead had to go local , the whole certini /specialized/ concept store thing was perplexing

Any car with a green P on it with people embarking on a journey that are looking vaguely like home care helpers from an african nation, if the HMO in the village that has 4 bangers parked at varying angles across the pavement  in the braking bushes , or using the handbrake lamp post the council so handily provided to stop them rolling downhill  generally with panels or windows missing ,I can pretty much guarantee that the people running out the back door and down the snicket are the users , mrs smith the ever so polite 70 year old who takes the lodgers doesnt own any of them, and that none are insured or even have an owner with a license that has been obtained with any level of driving standard other than yes , yes , you showed up, thats a pass.

A mate of mine has had a Rise less than a year and a half, main battery won’t charge and he’s been told Shimano can’t say when they’ll be able to supply a new one on warranty

IIrc orbea make their own batteries ( well get them made for them)  its not a stock shimano lump.

I loved the exe it was a trail bike that just had the benefit of getting up the hills at the end of long rides , i barely ever turned it on unless it got steep , longest ride which was 73 miles i was glad to have the help at the end until the battery finaly turned off, if you are going to be max power max settings on the app then expect 15-16 miles tops but iirc the 9.5 which e bike frame wise was no different to my 9.9 can be had for 3499
