Youtube recommended this video for me yesterday..

Bloke makes a shelter by piling loads of heavy logs on much thinner logs, and camps underneath.

No idea on carbon monoxide risk either.

If they are female, I quote Timothy 2:12 to them “I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.” and then show my concern that they are going against God’s word by trying to educate me.

Nothing against any religion, but if they have the right to knock on my door to try and convert me, then it’s only fair that I’m allowed to try and unconvert them.

Palmer had a brilliant season, but ultimately his 22 PL goals included 9 penalties (so 13 non Pens, 11 assists). As good a player as he is, in recent years we’ve sadly seen with the likes of Dele (17 non Pens, 8 assists in 16/17) that brilliance at a young age doesn’t always continue for a multitude of reasons. Another massive risk by Chelsea.

The only vaguely plausible explanation I’ve read for their excessive signings is that they’ve realised a transfer ban is likely for their alleged financial irregularities under Abramovich, and so have bought a huge amount of young talent to carry them through that period.

Either way, Poch clearly knew the chaos that was coming and jumped ship.

And now Neto for £51m plus extras.. He’s missed 102 games in the last 3 years, is a crazy risk.

So what’s the long term plan with Chelsea? If I’ve got this right, the max players you can loan out is 7? So you’ve got a huge amount of young, but inexperienced players, many of which won’t be playing that often.

If it’s being run like a business, how are they going to improve and increase the value of these “assets” if they’re not playing?

And how do you get rid of the Mudryks on 8 years contracts and high wages?

Or are they just taking a gamble that inflation means most players can just be kept for a couple of years and sold at a profit?

Can anyone explain to me what their plan is?

I’ve spent the last couple of days just blocking every right wing / EDL / anti trans / alpha male etc user that was appearing on my timeline and (short term at least) Twitter has improved a great deal.

Thanks guys.. yeah my concern is that it might not stick as I know epoxy won’t stick to the shiny side of duct tape..

This is the epoxy I’ve got BTW https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gorilla-Glue-25ml-Epoxy/dp/B009NQQJFC/

Think I’ll try keying it up, ShoeGoo, clamp and see how it holds.. shoegoo should be the easiest of the two to remove if it doesn’t stick.

Failing that maybe put some stitches or a staple or something in so the glue has something to grip to?

Limited knowledge on US politics, but it appears Trump wants him to stay so it’s probably best that he gets replaced by someone younger and sharper.

Some reviews of fair licensing: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.fairlicensing.com

Edit: Alamy aren’t doing much better: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/alamy.com

Sorry, my mistake, I meant fairlicensing, the company doing the chasing.

Your experience from 20 years ago has absolutely no bearing on what happens in these situations today.

To be fair it seems fairly similar, unless the law has changed?  A 3rd party legal firm chasing using threatening tactics and not necessarily on behalf of the image agency or copyright holder, and often demanding excessive sums of money? They were doing this 20 years ago, with families getting chased for thousands as their 7 year old uploaded a photo to their first Geocities website.

Also, if you do post in a forum obvs don’t use a username similar to your e-mail address, or any identifiable info  – if you say you’re worried and might pay up then I guarantee Alamy keep an eye on posts and will put extra pressure on.

In my experience that sort are just a bunch of bullies who shout and threaten as it gets results – don’t give them anything to feed off.

Sorry, slight mistake by me but it was PicRights who are chasing him for an image he used which apparently is owned by Associated Press.  I’m not sure what he’s offered.

Back in the day I offered to pay £5, they rejected and then I just ignored them to they left me alone.  I was 18 and had no assets then.

From what I read there’s a few of these companies, who are often acting off their own back and the actual copyright holder is unaware of the claim.

In some cases they are making claims for images that aren’t breaking copyright (I read about a case where a red carpet photographer had his celebrity photo mistaken for someone elses from a similar angle).

Do some research on Google and I bet you’ll find a subreddit/forum where people are in the same boat as you – share info and see what everyone else is doing and whether they follow through on their threats.  And don’t give them any additional info (contact / work details in your e-mail footer, auto responders etc).  If all they have is an e-mail address they can’t do much.

Just be aware that you will be one of 1000’s that this company are chasing. If you make it difficult then they’ll eventually give up and move onto the next one.  Do they know your full name, address, phone etc? If not then don’t worry.

Google the company chasing you and the heading of the e-mail and you’ll see there are loads of people in the same boat. They rely on trying to scare you into paying. Up to you if you end up paying or not.  From what I gather these cases have never reached court in the UK, so people either pay up or they drop the matter.

With me (20 years ago, aged 18ish, similar situation) they dropped the matter eventually. I told them I knew I was just 1 of thousands on their list so they could either waste their time and resources on me or just move onto the next victim. Then kept on hanging up on them til they gave up.

Be aware they will try every tactic in the book to scare you into paying. Shouting down the phone, threatening how it will escalate costs and affect your credit rating score*.

*on their own meaningless internal credit rating system!

I haven’t heard of this scam for a few years but think maybe AI has improved their image scanning ability and made it lucrative again? An old client of mine (who later built his own website) is currently being chased by them for an image he uploaded and they’re currently being pretty threatening to him.

I know nothing about this subject, so can someone explain what’s the justification behind Section 42 of the Gambling Act? It’s perfectly fine when the public are losing money when the odds aren’t in their favour, but it’s illegal and immoral when punters finally manage to gain an advantage?

I presume lobbying by gambling companies brought in this law?

Not sure about British Cycling’s quote?!

“Our focus is now on providing Katie with the best possible support as she begins her recovery, and we know that the whole cycling community will be right behind her for every step.

Same as everyone else. Keep it all in writing, say you’re willing to pay for the work done, but the agreed quote was for additional/more comprehensive work which hasn’t been completed.  Take loads of photos and if you’re meeting, maybe use the voice recorder on your phone to record the conversation?  He might admit he’s not done a good job but demand payment anyway.

Google his name / see if he’s on Checkatrade etc and read reviews of the company.

If he’s got good reviews then you have a bit of leverage by potentially leaving a bad review.

If he’s got bad reviews then use this in correspondence / legal action, stating that he has a history of doing this.

I’d make the website as user friendly and useful as possible, and then noindex etc any content that you perceive as duplicate.

Lidl’s Italian beans (5/5, red packet) are pretty horrible but I quite like the 4/5 (green packet) ones they do.

Worst I’ve had recently is a local mid-range restaurant who also do events, weddings, christenings etc.. brought out 5 large cafetieres which were filled with cheap (and very weak) instant coffee. Coffee beans aren’t even expensive!

Yeah, I agree with headphones, plus you can always use an USB C adapter. It’s more the idea for the expanded storage, headphone jacks are an after thought.

I agree, but even if a small percentage of phone owners would like these features, then this would still be a massive market?

Well I caved in and ending up getting her the S24 (sans SD card slot).  Thanks for your help again guys..

Saw a reddit post which had the idea of a phone case with a built in SD card reader / headphone jack etc for phones that don’t have these – seems a great idea in theory, and a couple of companies seemed to attempt this a few years back.. seems like a good idea, or am I missing something? Obviously no-one’s making them for a reason?

Thanks so much for the offer wheelsonfire1 – it’s really generous of you :)  I’ve had a better look at the frame and think sadly the only option of salvaging it will be one of those threadless bottom brackets linked above – you can feel the difference between the two sides of the inside of the bottom bracket tube – my lack of mechanics has worn away around 2mm all the way around the inside of the frame, and the current BB (the thread of which looks fine) can basically be pulled out of the frame!

I really appreciate the offer though, it’s very kind of you, so thank you anyway  :)

Thanks for your help guys, I really appreciate your help!

I’ll look into the options and price it up – I love the bike but it’s a 22(ish) year old frame, so might be easiest just to pick up a cheap second hand frame and transfer everything over.

My own fault for assuming the play was in the chainrings and not the bottom bracket..

Just realised I’m being an idiot over the octalink / press fit thing, just realised they’re different systems.  I’ve also got some Shimano FC-M660 SLX triples I believe similar to these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Shimano-FC-M660-Crankset-175mm-44-32-22/dp/B001GSMMME

Any idea if a press fit BB would fit my frame, (e.g. does this system need threads, it’s been a long time since I fitted one) and if so which size (previous was 68 by 113)?

TBF, Spurs have a very good record against City – they struggle with Sonny.

However, like most Spurs fans, I’m hoping for a loss to avoid handing the title to that lot down the road.

Obviously we don’t know the actual service they are providing but is it something that people regularly need/want (e.g. a cup of coffee, nearest toilet etc) that people may download an app for as it solves a regular problem, or is it like puncture repair where a person might only need it in rare emergencies, and won’t think ahead until there’s actually an issue?

If it’s the latter, then I imagine most people will search Google, so SEO or PPC will be your best shot, rather than an app?

(all IMO so feel free to correct me on any of this!) For me, schools etc seem to be fighting the battle against Tate types using the wrong method.

Instead of just stating that Tate is wrong (which he is) about his treatment of women etc, which I’m assuming gets overshadowed by teenage boys seeing his mansions, fast cars and model “girlfriends”, there should be more emphasis on the courses/memberships he sells, all of which promise “Get Rich quick” using the same old outdated methods.

I think Coffeezilla did a piece on him which showed that the only way you make money from his courses is by promoting the courses themselves and earning commission. (hence all the spam on social media).

If young people can be educated that the only way Tate is really making money is at the expense of his followers, that his courses are all scams (pay high profile Youtubers to honestly review them) and that the controversial statements he makes are just to gain attention and scam more followers then this will surely have a greater effect than a “Don’t be like him, ignore his houses/cars, he’s not nice” approach?

Here’s the data it’s roughly based on:

Team – Penalties – Touches in box
    Chelsea – 11 – 855
    Arsenal – 9 – 1208
    Newcastle Utd – 7 – 886
    Liverpool – 6 – 1163
    Brighton – 5 – 929
    Manchester City – 5 – 1265
    Manchester Utd – 5 – 846
    Aston Villa – 4 – 905
    Crystal Palace – 4 – 634
    Luton Town – 4 – 686
    Sheffield Utd – 4 – 537
    West Ham – 4 – 664
    Wolves – 4 – 652
    Brentford – 3 – 852
    Burnley – 2 – 694
    Fulham – 2 – 756
    Bournemouth – 1 – 876
    Everton – 1 – 694
    Nott’ham Forest – 1 – 666
    Tottenham – 1 – 1122

Does seem a bit of discrepancy between Chelsea getting 11 penalties for 855 touches, and Spurs only getting 1 for 1122?

Thanks chakaping – you’re probably right, but as I can’t afford to pay anyone (other than commission only) then this might have to be me on my own trying this for a bit!

Thanks sharkbait, I’ll look into the easiest way of locating my target market and see how I get on.

Thank you shinton – I’ll take a look now, and see if I can get any inspiration / motivation.

Thanks blokeuptheroad – I have put nothing up on Instagram yet other than a logo, as I’ve been focusing on Facebook (and feel free to delete this bit mods if it’s frowned upon to self promote, I don’t want to break any rules) but it’s https://www.instagram.com/affordablewebsites.co.uk/

Thanks again everyone for all the helpful advice, I really appreciate it.  If anyone else has anything else they can suggest, then please let me know, I’m grateful for anything you can offer. Thanks, Joey
