He says it’s not about disabled people, but where does he stand with someone like Martyn Ashton riding one?

Clearly it’s a last resort for Martyn Ashton, and if this technology enables him to continue ripping up the trails, then who cares what Dave has to say on the matter.

I agree with the drink problem theory.. might not even be a neighbour, but toothpaste and chewing gum wrappers seem to imply they’re trying to cover up the smell.. generally speaking I wouldn’t have thought kids would choose to drink red wine either..

A girl I used to go to school with used to work on webcam.. out of *research* I used to watch her free shows (although she didn’t find me txting her mid show to be as funny as I thought it was).. anyway she wasn’t online most days, so my *research* led me to watch other women from the UK..

A few months later I was getting wasted at a mate’s leaving do, when I started chatting to one of his girlfriend’s mates.. she was pretty funny, got on well.. 6 hours of drinking later and she eventually asked me if I wanted to know her real job.. turned out she was a webcam girl.. we talked about this (I’ve designed a few dubious websites in my time too) and then suddenly my drunken brain clicked into place.. “Hang on a minute.. I’ve ****** over you!”.. long story short, she found it funny, nowt happened between us, was first time she’d ever been recognised by anyone in real life.

She ended up writing a blog entry about me, which was flattering to me, although implied that we were probably going to sleep together (we weren’t, both of us were in relationships). Probably written for her audience’s benefit I imagine..

As way of a conclusion, I googled her a year later (she no longer works in that area) and discovered someone had uploaded some custom videos she made for him/her.. involved her putting her phone on the floor and going for a poo on it.

    The end.

GGG is the bookies favourite, but has looked a bit more mortal in recent fights.. he’s easier to hit than Canelo IMO, if Kell hit harder (and was a bit bigger) then he’d have had a decent chance.

Tough to call, but due to age/slight weight advantage/slightly harder to hit, I’m going for late Canelo stoppage..

Hopefully a close fight, and the start of a trilogy though :)

Re: Contador, I think that regardless of how you feel about him, it won’t be til next year when every rider is too afraid to risk their placing by attacking the Sky train, that you’ll realise how entertaining he makes cycling.. Grand Tours and stage races will definitely be poorer without him..

    joeydeacon

Probably because he was knackered and not thinking straight, plus if there were any issues with Contador (getting assistance from crowd, holding onto car, failing test etc) resulting in DQ (unlikely in his final race on home soil) then Poels would take the stage as reward for his labour

From what I can gather https://www.facebook.com/ProjectKansas/%5B/url%5D has (only!) about 540 miles to do in about 36 hours, not sure that’s doable.. is near Brocton/Stafford I think.. hell of an achievement either way..

Dunno if anyone else is following this.. seems to be near the halfway point..

https://www.facebook.com/ProjectKansas/%5B/url%5D – seems to be roughly on the record pace from what I can make out from the updates.

Also Mark Beaumont is on day 68/80 and on course to beat the world record..

You’d accept the correct thing would be to carry and raise the child after 24 weeks. I assume that the reasons you think that’s correct are the same as Rees Mogg. You’re just quibbling about where the magic point occurs.

Yeah, but I’d use science and evidence to come to my conclusion, not some outdated beliefs based upon an ancient book about a fictional character in the sky.

I hate to agree with Ninfan, but (and I’m being Devil’s Advocate here) if you’re anti abortion, then the circumstances should be pretty immaterial. Two wrongs don’t make a right, killing the unborn child doesn’t make the other bad thing not happen.

I disagree.. I don’t agree with, but can just about understand (misguided IMO) people who don’t believe in abortion after consensual sex, as if you’re prepared to potentially conceive then you should be prepared for the consequences..

However when conception has been violently forced upon an individual, then I don’t understand what kind of person, religious or otherwise, genuinely believes the correct thing to do would be to carry and raise the child..

Be interesting to see if he believes in that bible passage about rapists having to marry the victim and pay her father 2 silver coins as punishment..

What kind of empty soulless job is that?

Imagine going home to your kids and have them say “Daddy, what do you do” ?

TBF this is one of the more harmless forms of affiliate marketing – the worse quality their videos/web content is, the less people will interact in a positive manner with them, and thus Youtube/Google will show their content to fewer people. Kinda self regulating..

    The worse kinds are either:

The ones who play on people’s insecurities (Weight Loss, Get Laid etc) and sell them expensive E-Books / courses for 50% commission.

The blogs promoting web hosting – commission can be up to $125 a sale, some lifestyle bloggers are making hundreds of thousands a month from encouraging others to start blogs, which inevitably fail as they don’t know how to write engaging content/promote etc.. never trust a blog article recommending a web host.

This is just a Youtube vid designed to send traffic to the wiki.ezvid.com subdomain, which in turn sends traffic to Amazon/3rd party retailer and collects commission on sales – essentially just poor quality affiliate content put together by a (probably) non cyclist.

Edit: Given the rest of their videos, this is all they do all day, upload videos on niche product based topics to send targeted traffic to their website which they monetize via Amazon.

It’ll last a reasonable length of time as Mayweather doesn’t take risks. But there will only be one winner, either late stoppage or easy points for Mayweather. If Canelo, Pacquiao, Hatton etc couldn’t land a single meaningful shot in 34 rounds, then McGregor doesn’t stand a chance.

    and

You’re buying into the hype, this happens every time before a Mayweather fight – he’s too old, brittle hands, younger hungry opponent, we’ve found his weakness etc – they all end the same way, Floyd won’t take risks, the crowd will go crazy as Connor throws some huge shots, but if you look closely you’ll see that none actually land, Floyd lands some spiteful counters and does enough to win each round. It either ends late on if McGregor gasses, or 108-120 points to Floyd.

Called it! (to be fair, so did a load of others on this thread)

Anyone remember just before London 2012, Panorama (?) had a show on the science behind sports nutrition? Graham Obree was on it, and his conclusion was along the lines of “It’s a loads of b******s, eat real food”.

Don’t think there will be much in an energy bar that you can’t replicate at home, especially for (I’m assuming) non world class cyclists like ourselves..

Van Heerden is currently 27th in the world and was handling him comfortably.

Mayweather is far more accurate and virtually impossible to hit with anything big.

Watch interviews of boxers who’ve fought Mayweather. It’s only afterwards they realise just how frustrating it is, because it’s nigh on impossible to land anything, and they keep getting tagged in return.

he fought for a world title 6 months ago….

yep, and looked like a shadow of his former self, was easy to hit and lost comfortably… hence why he retired, he doesn’t have it anymore..

Paulie is clearly in massive decline, hasn’t had a decent victory in around 8 years. He’s also retired, out of shape and you’re basing your judgement on two handpicked 5 second clips of sparring – we don’t know what happened in the first 10 rounds – Paulie is claiming he won them then gassed later on as he was out of shape – he’s asked for the tapes to be released to prove this.

Either way, prime Paulie would easily beat prime McGregor, and an old Mayweather would comfortably beat both of them.

Sorry Warton, not really buying into your prediction.. no way McGregor manages to achieve what Hatton, Pacquiao, Cotto, Canelo, De La Hoya etc failed to do, considering they all boxed since a young age and know the sport inside out.

Canelo is arguably the pound for pound active fighter, and could hardly lay a glove on Mayweather. McGregor won’t fair any better.

They love them yellow jackets alright.

To be fair, the guy who comprehensively beat me and the rest of the field wasn’t wearing a normal cycling yellow jacket..

It was one of those fisherman style thick yellow raincoats!

Personally I wouldn’t spend much on a bike else you’ll always be stressed about scratching it – Bikes are for riding, not worrying about.

Once you have a half decent bike then unless you’re pro level, then it counts for nothing. Back when I use to race I regularly beat old fat guys on 7k bikes, yet remember one time the whole field got our arses kicked by a guy in a yellow rain jacket and a £300 rigid bike with v brakes..

You’re better off training and spending money on skills courses if you want to improve IMO..

I just don’t understand their desperation to win.. surely you can’t take any satisfaction in coming 3rd when you know it was solely because of a motor in your bike? They’re clearly not doing it for the prize money/trying to get a contract.. they’re not even subtle either, this case seems to be based upon a tip off..

I can understand it more if it was a young foolish kid desperate to get a contract, not a 53 year old.

Running always used to really hurt my joints and shins – if you have shin splints / aching ankles then try calf compression sleeves / ankle sleeves – they might look ridiculous but it has instantly removed all pain for me and means I can run every day.

Planet X / CR are pretty good for buying cheap finishing kit.. you can buy stems for £3, saddles and tyres for £5 if you shop around.. I bought a 9 speed Alivio triple chainset with rings for £8 from CR the other day..

    Edit: See, a 50p stem!

BTW Planet X is pretty poorly categorised, so search for “Stem” or “Tyre” rather than browse by category..

Yeah agreed, no access to power meters during the stage.. racing should be based upon instinct not numbers.

Similarly, reduce the size of teams to 6 or 7 – make it harder for each team to control the race

The best stages are when the main GC riders are attacking each other, with no domestiques to help, with the strongest rider prevailing – hopefully changes can be made to ensure more of these scenarios.

Mountain trains may be effective, but they’re incredibly boring, and result in an uneven playing field.
