I thought steroids were old school, thought most dopers would avoid them considering how detectable they are.. just did some research to see how easy it is to buy EPO.. first result on Google, £24 quid for a vial, sold for “Medical research” purposes.. third best seller on their website.. so sad that young kids are risking their health and careers..

This test was never going to prove anything to either side.

It doesn’t prove he’s clean or doping – it’s just a snapshot of what his capabilities were at a certain point in time (assuming he tried his hardest etc)

If it was cross referenced with his climbing data from notable performances and additional test data from his past, as well as biological passport etc then it would have far more impact.

Seems more of a PR stunt than anything – doubters will continue to doubt, and supporters will continue to claim his innocence.

Out of interest, what scientific research has Japan produced when using it as an excuse for hunting whales? I know it’s bollocks, just wondered if they were legally obliged to actually produce a scientific paper, and if so what it said?

Bum bags will never go. Especially the neon 80’s style! Wish I was wearing one at the weekend when somehow I lost my wallet within 2 minutes of getting into an event..

^ That. Plus screenshot the webpage, save a copy etc as evidence just in case.

Plus if they turn out to be dicks, then submit it to http://youthoughtwewouldntnotice.com/blog3/%5B/url%5D – they won’t enjoy the negative publicity.

At the other end of the scale, I bought this[/url] for £90 a couple of years back, swapped a couple of bits for stuff in my spares bin and it’s my favourite bike to ride. Think I’d be worried about riding an expensive bike, chipping the paint etc, would take the fun away from riding..

Hopefully one of the manufacturers watching will sort them out with some new kit, deserves a chance to show what he can do on a more suitable bike, a follow up vid would give them loads of exposure in return..

My knowledge of physics/engineering ain’t great, but won’t they soak up loads of energy when accelerating compared to a stiff, regular wheelset?

Yeah I’ve seen Freeze The Atlantic a couple of times, think Jon has left now.. also saw Jamie’s band a year or so back, in both cases they’re no Reuben! I go to 2000 Trees festival, a couple of years back they got Hundred Reasons to reform which was amazing.. they’ve also got a mini stage called Camp Reuben, where I think Jamie has played a solo Reuben set, no chance of them reforming though sadly..

Same with Million Dead, although did see Mongol Horde last year, who were incredible..

I’ve never really got into Oceansize, admittedly haven’t listened to much, but will give them a go now..

Ones no longer with us – Grandaddy and the Beta Band.

Isto: Grandaddy are recording a new album I think

From a British perspective, I’m gutted that Reuben, Hundred Reasons, Hell is for Heroes, Million Dead etc all quit.. only Biffy and Frank Turner managed to make a proper career out of that scene

Weird how the same bands seems to crop up on this thread, but still sell millions of records.. someone must be buying them (or having their music forced upon them, in the case of U2)?!

    joeydeacon

Oasis – bland Dad rock, the equivalent of having beige as your favourite colour
Coldplay – music to wet the bed to
    U2 – boring, overrated w*nk
    Mumford – Coldplay with banjos
1975 – like a really poor generic sounding 80’s band plucked from obscurity
That Ezra bloke – sounds like he’s had a voice transplant, can’t sing, writes appalling songs

Were these segments that you set and then covered with fallen branches so that nobidy else could find them?

Nah, one is a lap of my living room, another is a hallway sprint, and the rest are through the front door and down the driveway!

I got one of these a while back for festivals etc, which claims to be 20000mAh (don’t know how to measure it, but comfortably charges my phone 5/6 times) for around the same price.. is a lot better than the older model it replaced which was only 5000mAh and struggled to charge my phone more than once.

Or was it because you weren’t as quick as you thought you were?

Nah I’ve still got all of the KOMs 2 years later.. I just realised I was too old to be shaking and tasting blood at the top of climbs!

    joeydeacon

Strava took the fun out of riding for me.. I’m shit going DH, but alright uphill, so used to go for a few KOMs.. a few rides later I realised that Strava had turned riding into racing, and was not much fun so I stopped using it..

Incidentally , does anyone else think the KOMs on downhill road sections should be reconsidered? Not cos I’m shit at them, just as it’s a matter of time before someone dies/injures bystanders trying to race that little bit faster on an open road..

If you’re after something a bit cheaper, I was on a bit of a budget and got one of these by Bolse and am very happy with it, is bluetooth or 3.5mm jack input.

I used to do a bit of KOM hunting on strava (trying to set them, not delete them!).. one climb in particular I was 2nd place on, with another rider comfortably beating me by 15 secs or so.

However someone kept on flagging his ride, as I constantly received alerts as the new KOM holder, and then alerted again when his ride was rightfully reinstated.. he must be thinking that it was me who was always flagging it as I had the most to gain by doing so.. no idea who was questioning, but it made me paranoid I was looking like a sore loser..

Gets covered up in other sports.. famous La Liga players / tennis players were reported to be visiting Dr Fuentes during Operación Puerto but nothing was done about it..
