Actually scrap my code, just use this: http://www.multilinkr.com/%5B/url%5D

Yeah, could copy and paste the lot to notepad and do a search and replace:

    http://www.yourdomain.co.uk/file.jpg
    http://www.yourdomain.co.uk/file2.jpg
    http://www.yourdomain.co.uk/file3.jpg

    Replace
    http://
    with
    < a href="http://
(Remove the space before the “a”, the forum won’t let me type it otherwise)
    and replace
    .jpg (assuming they’re all jpgs)
    with
    .jpg">Link</ a>
(Remove the space before the “a”, the forum won’t let me type it otherwise)

And then run DownloadthemAll and it should let you download all of the images.

Or depending how many there are, you could just convert the text to images, and then File, Save the webpage

    So basically put
    <img src="
    before each one, and
    ">
    After

Yep, save it as a webpage (if possible) then as long as they’re hyperlinks (rather than just text on a page) then you can use Firefox add-on “DownloadThemAll!”

To be fair, there hasn’t been a study on whether using a clinic would reduce first time users even further? (Or did the study have two groups, one with take home meds, and another with on-site usage? Either way it’s a bit difficult to measure any effects on new users outside of the testing group?) – if the sterile environment takes away the “Cool” factor then this could also help.

Pts have no need to inject it, when it was prescribed by Drs in the 90s the heroin was preloaded (in liquid form) into ciggies and taken at home as and when required.

I take your point about safe environments. The rest isn’t true though

I haven’t read the study, but I presume it was for existing addicts, rather than being offered to new users? IMO using a clinic would reduce the number of first time users?

Why the insistence on making heroin user consume their product on a regulated premises? There was no evidence that when Drs could prescribe and pts were allowed to take it home, that it caused any problems

This is largely due to the fact that if people are injecting heroin at home, something will go wrong in a handful of cases, people will die, then the papers would have Leah Betts level of outrage and public opinion might change

If it’s in a safe environment then this A) Minimises the risk of people dying, and B) Takes away the appeal of trying potentially long term health damaging drugs (I’m aware this isn’t all of them) to a younger audience (same as plain tobacco packets, or the current Smoking Causes Cancer health warnings)

It also reduces any black market, where people resell their prescription for profit.

Isn’t that the case with cigarettes at the minute though?

When’s the last time someone got mugged for cash for cigarettes? Plus the penalties for importing / dealing cigarettes aren’t that severe compared to heroin, so the risk is worth it. Keep the current laws for unauthorised dealing/importing of Class A’s, but this would largely be irrelevant – if you’re a junky do you

    A) Steal stuff all day, to get £300 and risk being beaten up/arrested to buy an inferior unsafe product cut with random powder
    B) Pay £20 at a government clinic for a pure safe hit

The bottom would fall out of the illegal trade in no time, so the reward wouldn’t be there for the dealers, to make the risk worthwhile.

With cigarettes the risk is still worthwhile.

Edit: I should add, cigarettes are a lot easier to deal, as there are far more addicts, it’s easy to purchase abroad in large quantities, the punishment isn’t that severe, and the product is fairly socially acceptable (than say heroin) so there is no social stigma.

Wouldn’t there always be an arms race with dealers looking for newer, more potent illicit drugs and generally the availability of such a thing moving faster than legislation?

Nah, that only happens as the current stuff is banned so people look for loopholes – if everyone (who wanted to) had access to a pure affordable supply then there would be no demand for anything on the black market – who would take the risk importing anything if they’re being undercut by the government, with a better safer product.

    Step 1: Legalise Everything
Step 2: Sell softer drugs from authorised licensed dealers (taxed as per alcohol/cigarettes)
Step 3: Sell Harder drugs from government run clinics, where you have to consume/use the product on the premises in a safe environment. This will make it less appealing to newer users. Again taxed as per alcohol, but far cheaper and purer than street prices, thus removing wealth/power from dealers, and reducing drug related crime (as a habit will cost a lot less)

Step 4: Ban drivers etc from using, same as Drink Driving.

Step 5: Spend Money raised from taxes on Drug Education so users can make an informed decision, as well as every other aspect of society, new hospitals, better health care, education etc

Step 6: Enjoy a better society, no more nasty dealers, far less thieving junkies and a better quality of life for everyone.

You should pay the same amount that you feel she would have paid you had the investment gone well.

Which is probably nothing, as it was her decision, her risk and her investment, so I don’t see why you would have been entitled to any.

I simply believe that there are a lot of similarities between US Postal’s and Sky’s dominance (if you ignore the PR bullsh*t that both spout, and instead look at the actual evidence) and as such think they should be viewed with suspicion.

The time gap between the two eras is relatively small, with many of the same individuals still involved in the sport (whether as riders or team staff) for the situation as a whole to have changed dramatically IMO.

    joeydeacon

I believe in Vaughters – he’s seems pretty open, even posting on Cycling News’ Forums to defend himself and his team – obviously they’ve had a scandal or two, Tom D etc, but I believe in their team as much as I do anyone. However they’ve only won one grand tour (off the top of my head) and they didn’t dominate that Giro the way Sky have dominated in their victories. Edit: to clarify – I think the team as a whole is probably clean, but this wouldn’t necessarily stop the odd rider from cheating.

Essentially I don’t really see how clean riders would be able to beat doping ones over a 3 week grand tour, especially as climbing times haven’t really slowed down.

I bet you believed in Armstrong too though BadlyWiredDog? If you don’t learn from history, you’re doomed to make the same mistakes again. Instead of looking at what Sky’s PR department comes out with, look at the facts: They’re a supposedly clean team which has tried to lie and cover up it’s way out of a supposed non story, whilst having a policy of repeatedly recruiting dirty team staff and riders, whilst transforming the careers, performances and physiques of it’s riders and dominating dirty teams at a level consistent with US Postal. In my mind this justifies suspicion.

He did that at Garmin (/Slipstream), not Sky. 2009.

Yes, but we still don’t have an explanation for this?

    joeydeacon

For me the fundamental issues with believing in Team Sky (and therefore Wiggins) are
    1. The history of cycling – we’re always promised the clean new era, but it is always yet to arrive. Miracle performances tend to be too good to be true.
    2. The multiple lies Brailsford has told thus far in this scandal, plus his attempts to bury the story. Why bother if it’s innocuous?
    3. Sky’s recruiting policy has been fairly checkered – why hire Leinders, the most infamous blood doping doctor in the world, plus several other staff/riders with an obvious history of doping.
    4. The fact that the whole team is consistently dominating other world class teams and riders, many of whom are known dopers.
    5. The transformation of Froome from rider who got kicked out of the Giro for holding onto a motorbike, to the World’s best TTer and climber overnight. Even Sky didn’t expect this, as he was denied team leadership until it was too late in the 2011 Vuelta, losing to Cobo by a handful of seconds.
    6. Ditto for Wiggins – he transformed from a 4 minute rider who couldn’t climb, to a 3 week rider staying with Armstrong, Contador, Schleck etc.
    7. Wiggins claiming he didn’t suffer any illnesses during 2012 to it emerging he required performance enhancing TUE medication just before a Grand Tour, which is only needed in extreme circumstances.

I’d love to believe in Team Sky, but I just can’t see how a clean team would consistently dominate doping teams, especially given what history has taught us.

Should add that you might want to try giving a couple away for free – maybe get the local school(s) involved where the students design a clock for the school – the winning design gets made and given to the school, and the kid wins a prize – can then get local press involved and increase publicity? Or just send a couple of samples to popular interior design/lifestyle magazines/blogs for free publicity?

Basically anything like that gets your company name / web address out there.

Edit: Or approach local privately owned shops and see if they’d stock a few on a sale or return basis?

It might not though – for the reasons stated above. He’ll portray it as “the establishment” trying to shut him down and it’ll rally certain types of voters to him.

It all depends what leaks.. if the N word comments are true, then I’m not sure how they can spin that. Similarly with the underage girl lawsuit. Certain controversial comments can work in his favour, but others can’t be defended – it all depends what’s waiting in the archives..

Hillary went easy on him. If she buried him, he might be replaced.

She wants him standing, but discredited.

This – the next few weeks, more and more off-air Apprentice footage etc will leak, which will eventually see him off. There is no way Donald Trump has been Donald Trump for 30 odd years in the limelight, without leaving a goldmine of video clips and soundbites which will come back to haunt him. He’ll get slowly destroyed close to the election, with no time to install a replacement.

    joeydeacon

Trump won’t win for the simple reason that he’s a nasty bigoted arseh*le who bullies people and speaks his mind. And has done so for the last 30 or so years in the limelight. If even 0.01% of his conversations in that period have been recorded, he’s screwed. The latest rumour is him using the N word, which will probably be the final nail if true.

Unless Cilnton actually has a few Lewinskys buried under her patio, then she wins by default.

What’s the Edinburgh Defense? Googled it and one of the results was this forum?

Not defending Fury’s comments, I just think there’s a difference between stating something with genuine animosity rather than just attention seeking.
