no real concern over the tools its the principal of setting a standard that’s not achievable. we use a mix of air tools and Makita drills. but not sure how we set and measure this with a Phillips type fixing.

yeah that’s what I think hex head all he way – but its the customer specification. I think I need to tell them to change the spec to hand tighten or change fastener to hex.

but if you need to set a procedure to follow and you don’t know the ability/build/power of the employee/potential future employee then how can you set a procedure to folo of tighten to 4Nm?

understand but this has to be dependant on the force applied down?
child pressing down has to be less force than adult pressing down and required force is minimum 4Nm

but as a Philips head is tapered doesn’t it depend on the pressure applied i.e. down force? cant get my head around it tbh. if its hex head or bolt etc then I understand the forces applied are direct but on a tapered type Philips head I don’t get it.

Its actually for the gear rack in a stair lift (stannah type). The customer want is maximum 4Nm which is very little. Above that the thread strips as it goes into aluminium. My concern is the bit/head starts to lift depending on the pressure applied downward so it becomes subjective?

Ignoring the fact that your unhappy with the proposal if the new building goes up and your flue remains where it is your house will become a death trap. Needs 1 meter all the way around minimum!

Bought a 16v punto on ebay for £425 for the wife 3 years ago.
Only had to change tyres, oil and a set of brake pads in the 3 years despite the man in the shop who sold me the pads saying that’s a crap car. Tried to change it but wife is happy with it. If im nipping out to the shops I always grab her keys and usually end up driving miles out of my way cause its soooooo much fun to drive.
    Fab car!

    Its a definite from me.
Step by step though, get your training and test out of the way first.
That will open your eyes to a whole new world and you will learn how to drive properly. In my ideal world everybody would take their bike test before they do the car test. Only bikers will understand that and they will all agree.

Got a small petrol engine handy?
Strimmer, chainsaw etc will do – put a pipe from the exhaust into the rat hole. Start your engine and go get a cup of tea. Petrol fumes sink into the burrows – no more rats.

Having been an early heavy user I have first hand experience of the mental health issues it can bring on.
Haven’t touched the stuff again in over 25 years and have no wish to.
That said I would wholeheartedly support full legalisation.

Totally feel for your daughter. Been there many years ago now. These homes can be run by pigs who shouldn’t be anywhere near a caring situation.
My wife’s was accused of starving residents by a homes manager who just wanted her out after she found some dubious payments going through the books. Suspended for 2 years whilst they tried to pin all sorts of rubbish on her. Then when they couldn’t find a single thing to pin on her they invited her back to work or take a pay off. By this time they had sacked the manager for theft (a fridge) and suspended his henchmen. She decided to walk away from the business and they had to pay her some pretty healthy compensation.
Its a long road but if you know you’ve done nothing wrong you stick in there and make them pay. ACAS are great – good luck.

Had a gorgeous T4 caravelle 2.5tdi, great family holidays and used daily for the school commute.
Would love another but really don’t miss the bills.
If I were looking again today id take a serious look at a bongo. Same fun much less expense.

    Got a 2010 2.0diesel that’s been reliable so far.
Done 13000 hassle free miles. Doesn’t get the heart racing but 7 seats are handy when required.
Looking to get a remap for £345 in the hope of increasing power and upping mpg. Big ask but it worked on the T4 van I had.

The million dollar question Im afraid.
We were in the same predicament just over 12months ago and decided to take the plunge and buy something bigger out in the country.
It meant moving the mortgage free date forward another 20 years but house has already gone up 10% so when we plan to size down hopefully were I the pound seats. As we see it borrow what you can whilst you can as an investment. There is a cut off when they wont lend to you (may hay while the sun shines).
However we do realise their is risk but on the other hand its about supply and demand in the property game.
    Good luck!

Agree with the down to your pants and all the windows open if your not careful. We have a nice double woodburner and once its lit it needs to be damped right down or the heat can be too much (farmhouse so its not like its a in small room). In the last house we had an enamel gas pretend woodburner that was fantastic, if it got too hot simply turn it down – would consider one again and don’t rule it out if you have gas.
