E13 is decent kit. I just replaced a shimano mech for having as much structural integrity as brie so I dont think shimano stuff is top notch exactly.
It wont affect the bike and you’re stressing for no reason
joefmFull Membershame for her family but 96… Good innings if it is that.
Going to be a silly amount of news coverage no doubt. Not sure I really care.
joefmFull MemberEven the VDV was little more than riot police.
That's why "elite" paratroopers comprise the Reserve of the Supreme High Command. It's not a reserve for a big war. Nope. It's a reserve for suppressing mutinies within Russia or in neighbouring countries. And that's largely done through psyops. Thus they work hard to seem scary pic.twitter.com/PMYZ4EpGVq

The Russian army is little more than conscripts, poorly paid enlisted men and officers.
1/ What is 'officer slavery', why do Russian army officers complain of it, and why is the Russian army like a Roach Motel – officers can check in, but they can't check out? Here's the first part of a 2-part ? on why it can be hard to leave the Russian army if you're an officer. pic.twitter.com/xe2ZRMIBfz

the weapons and systems have been neglected (before Ukraine) by corruption.
All the stuff we know about Putins regime and theft, why did we ever think they had a decent army?
joefmFull MemberIf you find the sites planning permission on the planning portal for the relevant local authority, there should be a condition related to construction management. Report it to the local highway authority and LPA. They should be able to contact the developers and enforce it, request a sign etc.
Try your local councillor too.joefmFull MemberCould be anything from warm and pleasant to single digits (especially up high) so take a few layers
joefmFull MemberI’ve literally just watched the ‘Threat Level Midnight’ episode of the Office for the first time. This is exactly the same thing except Flatley is minted.
Was thinking the same. Just without the comedy
joefmFull MemberMy take is that Kim always brought out the best in Jimmy/Saul. So when he saw her he tried to do the right thing. Her leaving him was his downfall as an okish person.
joefmFull Memberwe have to test our hot tub water everytime we use it. After one day it looks like the chlorine is evaporated/gone. The levels for safe bathing water is pretty low so disappears quickly! So if you’re storing it in your butts you’ll be fine to water the garden with it as it takes a while to use the water in the butts
joefmFull MemberI use a sherpa exactly for this sort of riding. Bit heavy but can ride all day.
joefmFull MemberYour memory issues sound very similar to mine. I’m sure it was to do with sudden bereavement. My mind was stressed for quite some time after. Time has helped but reckon a counsellor, or even just discussing and being open about it will help more.
Can’t help with the speech thing though.joefmFull MemberHopefully if I can convince the SO after she broke her wrist last time. Think I’ll get her ski lessons rather than snowboard.
Otherwise my mates are off to Andorra at some point.joefmFull Memberweeksy

Why can’t the season run from late March to the middle of October?Expense. Simple as that I’d guess.
Which brings us back full circle to pro only teams and non privateers

Why can’t the season run from late March to the middle of October?I just don’t think there is enough money in the sport to support a 12+ race season, with travel, equipment costs etc. I’d be surprised if more than 1-2 teams had the ability to race all the events.
At the moment I agree. But 6 races a year is not going to get the out of industry sponsors needed so they need more races. Bike companies have been making a fair bit over the last few years. They need to put their hands deeper and TV rights need to contribute to those travel costs.
I’m not talking about doing 20 a year from the current 6 but a gradual build up. Say 10 next year and 15 in 5 years time.
Hence they need to make a more marketable product and streamlining it.
The sport needs a bit of a shake up. Been at the same level for way too long. It may still not work but something has to change so this will hopefully be positive…
joefmFull MemberApparently between £3k for the Reactor to £3700 for the Push’d Giga.
It’s a good job they cost that much, lovely as they are I can’t bring myself to spend that on a frame!
joefmFull Memberwhile that makes sense, I think it only works if all those 30 riders (and the unspecified women) are able to have a full time career racing only WC races. Which I dont think those at the bottom are.
I think they are, but with a proper pro series with sponsors, tv rights etc they stand more of a chance.
Wouldnt even rule out someone bringing money to the team (has happened in DH and happens in other sports).wjoefmFull Memberprecisely. It should be for the teams to choose who they want (providing they are up to scratch i.e. super licence).
if there are a certain amount of teams that have entries, they can choose who races for them.
Say 10 teams, 3 riders each.As an equivalent. should Marc Marquez, 6 time Moto GP champ have to start in Moto 3 again when he returns from injury? It’s up to the team. Same with DH. Getting points to race is ridiculous for what should be a pro series.
joefmFull MemberSurprised about attitudes to Racheal Atherton on this forum tbh. Should not be penalised for having a child… Discriminatory.
And to those who think you can turn up and have a go. Getting enough points is **** hard. Even those who scrape a point and dont qualify for the main are still very quick. Whats remarkable is how much quicker guys like Pierron are.
But I also think they need streamline it so there’s less riders and more races. Riders and teams need more screen time. It’s not marketable to the outside world save for energy drink sponsors.
See bike racing, F1 etc for progression of riders into the sport.
joefmFull MemberIt’s been enjoyable having it to watch all these years for free. But how is WC DH doing? Has it grown in the last few years? Outside of our niche interest it’s small fry.
It’s great that a privateer can get a point and compete, but should an elite level sport be held back to cater for privateers?
Why are there only 6 or so races year? Can’t help but think the exposure for companies is relatively poor. 1 min or so to see your rider on TV.
F1/MotoGP have 20 or so entries over 20 races a year. Juniors and up and comers get through junior/lower series and get promoted. It’s a huge risk but they need to go balls deep.
Where is the fee from discovery going? In F1, Football etc TV rights money (a lot of) go to the teams.
joefmFull MemberSC have lifetime bearing warranty and I’ve owned mine for 5 years and changed bearings once out of regular maintenance (they were fine) so dont worry about that too much.
Other bikes. Transition Sentinel. Spesh Stumpjumper Evo? Loads to choose from.
Would be nice to change brands though to feel like you’ve properly got a new bike?
joefmFull MemberYou’re thinking a lot about it and tbh you’ve gotten away with that… Just get back out on the bike
joefmFull MemberYou’ve beaten me to it. Alcohol un-inhibits your normal behaviour so focus on changing your mindset as you are.
Can’t hurt to drink a bit less at the weekend. Being tee-total is probably too hard and setting you for a fall and it doesnt sound like you’re an alcoholic? When you start to notice your behaviour changing ease up on the booze and have a think about it.
Also try doing different things with your spare time to break up habits.
joefmFull Memberhe’s a decent journo. exposed a lot of that Norton/Stuart Garner stuff.
I can’t believe that Storey is still getting away with it
joefmFull Memberthat’s a long reply for a tongue in cheek comment.
I know some people dont use them or have experience of them. It just reminds me of conversations from a decade ago.
Both my MTB’s have them. Dont need one on the steel XC HT really but without it i’d never be able to swing a leg over that gate!
To OP. you’ll get used to quick enough and will use it without thinking.
joefmFull Memberhave to wonder how many teams actually get sponsorship funds from Rich Energy. I’d certainly be wary of working with them with their history
joefmFull MemberNot looking forward to football this evening… think i might die/sweat a lot.
joefmFull MemberIf Nino Schurter and Mathias Flückiger were watching I bet they hope Pidcock sticks to the road.
He hinted on insta that he’ll be back in Les Gets in 6 weeks…
joefmFull MemberCan’t be any harm in mentioning that you’ve applied to the post unless you have a terrible relationship with them. I think I would expect anyone to apply for another role if it’s an opportunity so I doubt they would be surprised either.
At our place you’re not meant to disclose who is being interviewed to anyone outside the interviewing process as we try to interview blindly.
joefmFull MemberMarsh guard will sell you a metre of that 3m tape. Does the job nicely without being able to see it so visibly as the others.
joefmFull MemberThe driver still has a duty of care to other road users regardless of them not supposed to being there. The driver should have checked better, being obscured from being able to see isn’t a defence.
Disagree on the speed thing. Impossible to say at what point the glass breaks. did the arms speed up to protect the face?
The junction is also a bit weird. Looks like a crossover in which case anyone on it will have priority but then it’s also kerbed. confusing priorities.
Also though dominoes had blanket occasional business insurance for anyone driving for them? Not that it means much. One of our local ones seems to have tourettes and an overly loud small hatch back
joefmFull MemberNot much point arguing about the law and who’s right if a dog is jumping on you or your kids.
Unless it’s a violent breed I wouldn’t kick it. You can tell a dogs intentions. That golden retriever (our nemesis for good behaviour from our young lab) was just excited and they’re pretty harmless usually. As others have said keep everyone calm so it’s not one big game and even distract it then politely imply that you’re happy to help with its training.Owner should really have it on a lead. Hopefully will do now and spend some time and effort training now. We’ve had to work really hard with ours and only just starting to get to the point where he behaves (very boisterous and only starting to behave properly, will be on a lead unless there’s no one about or other big dogs to play with).
Hopefully your kids arent put off for life
joefmFull Memberhopefully he goes sooner than autumn. can’t see how he stays on as caretaker PM until the next with no cabinet etc
joefmFull MemberThese are a bargain compared to the cost of what many Transport Authorities are looking to spend on urban mobility e bikes as part of their hire schemes
joefmFull MemberNothing to lose by fully increasing HSC but if you’re bottoming out regularly (blowing through the travel) then I’m not sure lsc/hsc adjustment will help enough so you probably need to go up a bit then adjust HSC etc. otherwise progressive spring… springdex?
joefmFull MemberI should have had my 4th by now but was saving it for autumn as I have no idea what the government is planning. Should just be included as a flu shot. Hope so and a lot cheaper than lockdowns.
My booster was in November so at it’s limit now and covid really wasnt anything to write home about for me.
joefmFull MemberI think I have had worse hayfever. Luckily it was just a small infrequent cough but took a week before being negative. I’m in the at risk group too.
OH’s works party in spain seems to have resulted in a covid outbreak at her work. Most only found out because they’ve tested so a lot of superspreading now (if you’re not symptomatic chances are you wont test). Seems to be a lot more superspreaders with this latest variant so going to be a big wave so to speak.
