My friends cheap boxster ended up as a money pit when it needed clutch doing. Wouldnt put me off them.
But i think it really depends on how or when you use it. Not sure I’d want to daily any as they’re all getting on a bit.
I quite like Z4’s and theyre relatively simple… I like my BMW’s though.
1joefmFull MemberIf it keeps people in work longer then pension pot will be bigger.
Should be a gateway drug for people to get skinner to start leading healthier lives. Their current state makes it harder to get active in the first place.
joefmFull MemberI loved BB. I loved BCS. You can tell that the writers/production have got more experienced and as a result BSC is more mature and sublime as mentioned.
Want to re-watch breaking bad but not sure it will stack up after BCS.
joefmFull MemberYep I love IASIP, took a while to get into so thats the difficulty with sharing it.
Not sure there’s one thing I recommend. Used to be Breaking BAd, like everyone did and it became a Family guy joke. Would probably say Better Call Saul now. think
joefmFull MemberWash in and then spray followed by some ironing under a tea towel? seems to have done the trick for me.
joefmFull Memberprobably covered by temporary use under permitted development rights.
Highways unlikely to be involved if there’s no planning requirement unless you’re changing an access or hosting a big event.
A sensible access might not be a bad idea though.joefmFull MemberWe have a fairly small kitchen so having a dishwasher means dirty plates etc aren’t littering the place. And to not have dirty plates everywhere means constant washing up (both of us wfh). the washing up also trashes my skin and i end up with dry skin, cracks etc. The sink is also slightly too low for me and I’m not even 6ft.
No idea why anyone would purposely not have a dishwasher if they have the space.
Our old one died last week. Bought a new one after trying to fix it but it was 15 years old and I was pretty grumpy we didnt have a working one.
joefmFull MemberFazer’s seem to be pretty cheap.
Had an ER6 that cost £1500. was decent if a little dull.
joefmFull Memberyou cant torque up a QR correctly either and you probably carry a multi tool so whats the issue?!
joefmFull MemberIf Haas isn’t being paid to take and nurture a young driver then there’s no benefit to them except cost in crashes and fewer points. So I understand why Mick S has been dropped in favour of someone more reliable.
I do think Hulk has had his time though. like Kmag and a few others on the grid.Hopefully Mick realises motorsport is bigger than the F1 bubble and seeks out a successful career in sportscars which is onto bigger and better things.
joefmFull MemberI think it makes for a decent spy novel or film, but in all the history of either the US or CCCP launching weapons mistakenly, or systems “seeing” things that aren’t there, the people in the systems on both sides have pretty much always prevented it. It’s really not that easy to start a massive intercontinental war, regardless of what you might think.
In those instances missiles were nuclear armed ICBM’s where they have 20 or so mins to decide if WW3 was starting and they needed to retaliate before they got wiped out and it never happened. They were not dealing with an astray cruise/AA missile. I dont think WW3 will start because of a non nuclear missile.
joefmFull MemberWhat has Perez done for Verstappen this year exactly?”
Err… letting Verstappen pass when instructed by the team to do so on Sunday?
Would Verstappen have passed him anyhow? Probably.. but I’m just answering the question.
Whether he let max passed or not is slightly irrelevant as Max would have passed him anyway. He lost 4 seconds in a couple of laps. You cant defend from that type of pace difference. Point is Max would be WC this year with or without him. which is not the case with what perez was implying with his message about helping max win two titles.
joefmFull MemberIt’s both a team sport and an individual sport. The fact that there’s a championship for individuals and a championship for teams should be a fairly clear hint. Max’s behaviour arguably seems to suggest that he thinks it’s a team sport when he individually needs help, but an individual sport when the team needs help.
There are prizes for the teams but for the drivers, who do the driving it’s and individual sport and they’re usually pretty **** selfish and determined in their own rights
joefmFull MemberIt’s an individual sport.
What has Perez done for Verstappen this year exactly? Max has walked it. He’s needed no help or if there was help it wasnt critical in the outcome of the WC. The only way he could have helped this year is by being on holiday for most of it. Been a less competitive teammate than Bottas was to Hamilton.
In all honesty he’s lucky to be in that car and able to win a race now and again.
Anyway congrats to George R. Glad he got a win.
joefmFull MemberI cracked over the weekend but set it to 19deg in the evenings and for an hour in the morning. It hasnt actually come on in the evenings yet.
joefmFull Memberthe OH has submitted a few from her horse rides but not heard anything
joefmFull MemberLast weeks feature on the rimac made the pagani piece obsolete. Suits Paddy McG though. Vulgar.
This episode wasnt interesting. too formulaic – my car is the best etc etc, take it round a small track etc etc, some mountain pass with hairpins etc
joefmFull MemberThe penalty of Ric was fair. Where a driver involved is forced to retire as a result there will usually be a penalty for the other driver. Had he not retired the penalty may have been less.
Think Perez had a poor drive IMO. way off Max and couldnt keep up with Hamilton on softer tyres. Not unexpected though.
joefmFull MemberI dont have a bath. I would like a bath and the mrs definitely misses it. It was worse before we put in a combi boiler as the shower pressure was crap. It’s good now though
joefmFull Memberyeah, generally something you can’t stop on and the sensation of having to commit while momentum builds.
There are places like that at staunton but you can roll that rock with a rigid bike. Thats more like a chute. the tracks that come down by the river near symonds yat I’d call steeps.Steeps to me mean still having to turn or catch a berm/rut.
Can’t really think of anywhere that is consistently steep in Hampshire.
joefmFull MemberCan only write about what i have – Codes with 200mm rotors front and rear. They’ve been faultless. Never had to worry about power as they’ve been consistent and worked the same from top to bottom, even at Golfie and over steep long tracks. Aware some aren’t as good so it’s luck of the draw to an extent.
Heard good things about Formula and the new Hopes but I have no reason to change and I like that everything is SRAM rather than mixed and matched.
joefmFull MemberJust to clarify I wouldn’t have bought a 125 if I had it in my head that I was going to do a DAS.
My original intention was to have a 125 for cheap commuting but that wore thin (lack of headlight/reliability on that old bike). It helped me learn but would have been fine to do the DAs without that experience. THe das may seem daunting but most people pass and looking back it was pretty easy
joefmFull MemberThe intensive courses never sounded like much fun to me. If you fail your mod 1 then you’ve lost your Mod 2 fee.
If you’re in no rush most schools will run lessons based on something like a day of training to prep for mod 1. Test day (usually half a day) then a day of training followed by mod 2.
I did all mine with Phoenix who are a franchise but instructors always seemed nice and I never felt short changed or short of time on the bike.
I had a CBT and a 125 so I was already learning and the controls were subconscious by then so the above was no issue.
Being a mtb’er also helps understand the fundamentals imo.
joefmFull MemberWork for a large uk holiday company and their sick policy is simple … no work no pay … simples ! … had covid earlier in the year, off for a week, got zip all
Enjoy it if its needed but don’t take the piss 🙂Strange Attitude tbh
joefmFull MemberIdentifying patterns is more important with frequent illness. Is it genuine or is it being abused?
Treating everybody the same isn’t quite fair so things like the bradford score aren’t ideal.
Like if someone is generally ill or has a chronic condition then see what you can do to support.
One person would frequently be ill, or their child was ill every time there was a deadline. It’s not been fair on the rest of the team who have to pick up the pieces but that was a training, time management issue that needed to be dealt with, rather than disciplining.
joefmFull MemberOH has Aigle and they’ve lasted over 10 years of looking after horses and are still pretty decent.
I have some Barbour ones that seem decent. dont think they’ll last as long though.
joefmFull MemberGlad to see her walking and speaking again. best outcome of any GD I’ve seen tbh.
joefmFull MemberNot sure what him stepping down would achieve as Ukraine are united in his view point. Don’t know what negotiations will achieve as, even if Russia is beaten back to their borders, they’re not defeated.
Really dont know the end point to all of this. Even if Russia is beaten back to their borders there is no guarantee they wouldn’t invade again or at least provoke Ukraine.
They need complete regime change. I think it is unlikely that the change in leadership would change the government/regime and I’ve heard there are some nasties waiting to take over. And I think there is only one way a regime change will happen… Basically stuck until the regime implodes itself or the people rise up (doubt).
joefmFull MemberHalaand is like having some cheat code. Too good. The scoreline was flattering for manure. Not sure what tenhag is on really.
joefmFull MemberGood point on the cubicle thing. Changing after drying in a wet humid cubicle is rubbish. Always worried someone may come in when changing in the communal areas as it’s unisex.
Also never enough hooks. skanky towels occupying each one.
Best thing i did was to buy a motorbike.
joefmFull MemberIt is literally his last reasonable play – hoping that declaring Luhansk, Donbas and Crimea part of Russia and setting a ‘red line’ will dis-unify the West and stem the flow of arms/equipment.
I think these messages are for his internal audience and setting out that it’s the wests fault they’re losing ground and the west will crumble etc to garner support for his madness/mobilising.
The west will take no notice and carry on. The nuclear threats have been made before. And if anything he’s managed to unite the west and strengthen NATO.
joefmFull MemberEg we’ll lift some sanctions if Russia agrees to open elections with EU/US/whoever representatives over seeing them?
Possibly. But Putin is only in this for himself. And that is purely based on greed and ideas of his legacy.
Russia will not surrender to the point where the west can place the terms on to Russia. This is not like WW2 where Germany was made to unconditionally surrender because it had no choice. Ukraine is not going to go all the way to Moscow and make Putin’s regime untenable. Russia will still have an army.
The only hope we have is the Russian people revolting when sanctions really start biting. Whether Putin gives a shit is another matter.
Can’t see the sanctions going anywhere anytime soon
joefmFull MemberJavelin’s etc seem to be making a good mess of the Russian’s tanks anyway.
joefmFull MemberThey usually have a feed station half way round so worth checking. Could be done on a bottle tbh
More tech than ard rock. A better variety and quality of trails too.
