lucky bugger. Is the guy making money off these then?

I’d sell the jeffsy and get something similar. Bit of money in the bank for riding and a nice bike to ride.

Or just get a bike that you’d like but can’t justify because of cost.

You’d be mental to want to ride on any derestricted dual carriageway anyway. I saw a tt on the A303 on sunday. Possibly the worst thing I could imagine doing on a bike. working your arse off for no fun with an extreme risk of death through no fault of your own from impatient motorists. mental

Unless it is discounted I’d be hesitant as they must be due a refresh soon on it so I’d wait. If I was buying a bike now I’d want all the latest standards.

Maybe they’re worried you are coming after them with ‘injuries’ and offering you more than the car is worth to settle right now for them is cheaper?

They’ll be seeking the costs from the third party insurers too so they must be confident of getting the costs.

For work and commuting not so much but for going riding I am reliant on it.

Make sure you get to Arnage for night time as the cars come in at nearly 200mph through a flat right before a big brake. Buses operate but they’re busy.

I take bikes as they are by far the best way of getting around although if space is an issue then you can hire them from a few places (ones at the entrance to Beauesejour campsite).

Another good spot to watch at dusk/night is at the old (not the new garages or kart club building) kart pit garages at the exit of Porsche Kerbs (It’s Kart Nord). You get a great view of their speed.

Forest Esses are also good and has a screen. Pits at night is worth viewing.

Had it in for one ride now. Installed it at same time as increasing travel to 160mm and It’s pretty much what I wanted.

Pikes always seem to stay well into travel when pointing down so I was running 3 tokens and way more pressure than I should. But this ruined the sensitivity and my arms would be feeling it by the end of the run.

The Luftkappe seems to increase support so less diving and increase sensitivity. So doing what it says but was hoping for slightly more support. Worth the money.

Does it have to be Coniston? I’ve stayed at the Hawkshead Hall campsite which was nice

There’s a lot of money going to be spent on infrastructure so try to find a related route in there

Brakes are sealed and unless you have fits when changing fluid its not an issue.

Water cleans it off anyway (DOT 4)

I’d avoid second hand Cane Creek IL’s due to reliability.

    Whats wrong with the RT3?

RT3’s are fine once you get the right set up. Takes some patience and testing though. Make sure you run the right sag, rebound and volume spacers.

a suspension company can help with set up, getting it valved right for you etc if you are clueless.

Looks quite cool. As close to dh bike as you can get.

It’s not really a bike for this country though. If you lived near a pedal to some huge rough descents it would make sense.

Just throw the grounds and water mix outside. Or into a house plant.

I like the aeropress at work, i even bring it home when on leave. I think I prefer it to the cafetiere now and the stove top isn’t available at work. For the sake of only £20 or whatever it is it’s worth having though.

the coffee makes the most difference. Aeropress needs quite a large scoop to get the right amount.

A lot of the posh coffee shops around here use them to make coffee.

If flat pedals don’t hold Sam Hill back then they won’t hold you back.
That’s what I tell my self if I’m thinking about SPD’s.

So the main issue is foot placement. you don’t have to have your foot in one place. typically arch of foot in middle for down and whatever works for climbing. Your feet will move but you get used to it.

Need to work out how to pedal nicely up hill rather than just stamping.

But one or two rides and youll be fine.

    Rusty Spanner – Member
    road.cc article.

A decent, modest man and a brilliant racer.

‘A keen cyclist, Hayden once took part in Critical Mass while staying in London, using a loan bike from the hotel he was staying in – much to the surprise of some of the other participants in the ride, one of whom shared the story on a thread of the Facebook page of the Stop Killing Cyclists campaign group.’

Down to earth and humble. Such a great character in the paddock and no one has a bad word to say.

His story to success is truly remarkable. His emotion winning that title spoke volumes just how much that meant. No arrogance and worked hard.

    RIP Nicky.

    Dreadfully sad.

Protection is more important than fast rolling. you probably want something to dig in on the grass so i’d avoid a semi slick

I use some fenwicks stuff you dilute yourself so can make about 10l for a tenner.
But washing up liquid does a great job tbh. Good degreaser too. Salt content is negligible. Not sure I’d use it on a car though as it strips wax etc, a car specific shampoo is better. For bikes I dont really care.

BES wasn’t that dissimilar to UKGE. Both put on tough loops and anyone who had done a ukge would have been fine with BES so where did everyone who did UKGE go?
Problems started with two competing series and more regional organisers putting on good events spreading numbers too thin across events.

Hope it works, I will be entering some as hopefully life wont be in the way as it has been this last two years.

I think it’s good news. Was hoping the regional organisers could have put on a round each to increase chances of it becoming sustainable long term. But UKGE did quite a bit right before and that worked out

I’d say buy an mx bike and find a local club. Trouble with pit bikes is unless you have access to private land you’ll struggle to be able to use them anywhere.

What will the population be? It’s gone to 7 billion from about 3 in a few decades. Not sustainable at that increase. Environmental pressures will eventually control population.

Fossil fuels will run out. Otherwise the planet becomes like venus.

once the tyre has been seated tubeless you should be able to pump it up from flat with a hand pump or co2 so you could use one of the anchovie/tyre plug things but thats hassle so just use a tube if it goes flat.

Get a cheapish 125. Should be on the road for less than a grand. Plenty fast enough for a commute (esp if you can cycle it in 30 mins) so ignore the bit above about needing a 600cc which will need more money chucked at the bike. More money on a DAS.

But an e bike probably wouldnt be much further behind an ride to work is cheap monthly.

Advantage of moto’s is not having to shower after riding in thus saving even more time. And as its probably only 15 mins on a moto you don’t need to kit up for the arctic.

I quit cycling to work more than once a week. Hatefully boring route and too much faff with showering etc. Cyclings my hobby at the end of the day and don’t want my enthusiasm to wane from that by riding rubbish journeys every day.

I use it and it’s fine. You use their website and upload a gpx. That syncs with the phone app which connects to the gps unit via bluetooth.

That quiet stuff is only effective at reducing noise for speeds over 50mph generally. which rules out most non motorway roads
