It’s also to counter the sag of the rear shock when sat on it. So a classic seat tube angle would be even more laid back while a steeper seat tube would settle at a more natural angle…
Climb switches dont truly lock out shocks.

Nice to see them back at Imola, but its a tricky circuit to overtake at, I think Mugello and Portimao were better substitute circuits for the current F1 cars. It will be interesting to see what Istanbul is like.

Agree to an extent. I guess out of the three italian rounds Monza and Mugello would be favoured.

cold tyres and a huge amount of power….

I hope the organisers keep these circuits on the calendar rather than some of the crap usually in there because of the host state is paying a fortune to have a gp.

The Algarve is lovely so i was happy when they announced they were going. Bikes are going in a few weeks too…

The circuit is great though. The type of tarmac and tyre temp issues allowed great racing as they could follow.

Lewis rinsed them but no driver of the day. I think people are misguided if they think it’s simply because of the car. He’s been a prodigious talent since he started.

re. Perez and pay drivers. Perez is a journeyman. He’s had a good season but would the sport be worse off without him? The Stroll’s, Perez’s and LAtifi’s have always existed. The majority of the grid would have spent hundreds of thousands/millions to get to F1 so it’s no different that people pay for seats in F1 as that funds the teams. It’s a wealthy sport.

What would be crap is if Perez ends up in Williams leaving Russell (F2 World Champ) without a drive.

Sell the wheels separately. Rest of the bike is five years old so ebay for a starting price of £1k and see if you get interest.

How much is a decent one worth now? Is it economically viable to fix up and make profit?
Plenty of boat salesman out there who sell for a fee. But I imagine you’ll get bottom value

If the other big countries/markets are printing money then inflation isn’t such an issue… comparisons with zimbabwe etc are wrong.

supercar segment was a bit dull. It’s pretty much copy and paste now.
24hrs in a car thing wasn’t really that funny. pretty low brow.

scrap it and have the last laugh. or not.

My plates on an bmw estate were cloned and the culprit rear ended someone in Kent. Took ages to resolves as the third party understandably wanted to claim. It was quite hard proving my innocence tbh and had to get a police report for being a victim of fraud! In the end they sent an engineer out to inspect my car which obviously had no crash damage compared to the damaged cloned car. Even made my insurance go up until absolved. But it’s the third party that bore the burden in the end.

where you ride the enduro rigs will be fine. Going fast downhill is more fun than being a bit more comfortable on a trail bike uphill.
Modern bikes climb well enough anyway

I am/was a sufferer but have most of my bowels. New drug is working good at the moment and they removed a section that had healed but had left scarring and a narrowing. Hats off for persevering and I hope you’re feeling a lot more normal now. It can be pretty crap

VW t5.1? £10k would get a good one. I know they’re costly due to scene tax but they shouldn’t depreciate as much as the others as they keep their value better

I know some brands like Nicolai are pushing the limits of whats available but it’s good to see what PB have done.
I think the industry just likes to do incremental changes for their next model bikes so they can do the same again for the next model. rinse repeat.
No one seems to do any empirical data collection and just work out what is actually fastest.

I like the grim donut though.

don’t forget your flannel shirt over your lycra when on your gravel bike. And wistfully look at those having fun on trails wishing you could have a go. But alas. Drop bars… but its ok because you rode there on the road slightly faster.

I assumed the average stw bike was something off bicycle pubes but tbh i think it’s probably a amix of FS bikes.

I’d ask them for help with getting the brake fixed. Would resit returning it and suggest either supplying a bleed kit or asking them to cover costs of an LBS fixing it.

Has Verstappen got a weird driving style? Maybe his style just suits however the car is. Then if he’s doing well in it the engineers listen to his feedback and make the car more as he likes it, the designers make next year’s car more like and you end up with a viscious cycle creating a peculiar handling car only he can get a grip of.

Albon says that Max runs more front end than just about anyone he knows of. Which implies less rear stability so perhaps they have gone with Max’s direction, which is understandable as it is team Max to an extent. And since Ricciardo left there’s only been one consistent driver to develop the car.

Would PG now get on with the RB? His tail was pretty high when he joined RB. Same as ALbon. Different cars.

Certainly the mystery of the season is trying to figure out what Bottas’s “plan” was to beat Hamilton. Unless he was carrying a significant mechanical issue, finishing ten seconds ahead of Hamilton, when he had a bunch of time robbed by a restart, 30 seconds lost to the penalty, and about ten cars to overtake, is making him look very average again. As did Norris’s brilliant move on him on the first lap.

If he has a plan he’s deluding himself

Our survey main concerns were the existing decking not being anti slip and our ditch not being fenced off to prevent drowning (it’s dry most of the time).

For a house as new as the one your looking at if you go with a survey just get the minimum or ask a builder.

All gas certs etc and servicing should be picked up in conveyancing.

Ask yourself what do you both want out of it?

I took up racing Rotax’s a few years ago. It’s great fun, but can be frustrating and its certainly costly. The learning experience has been fun though. indoor karts etc usually have about 5hp, 2t 125’s have about 30. They’re amazing fun once you get the tyres warm.

My dad used to race gearbox karts when I was small so something I’ve always wanted to do and cost has put me off. He got us into MTB’s rather than cadet racing and I’m glad he did.

We Visited the local club to watch and noticed you could buy a running rotax 2t engined kart for about £1k which seemed reasonable value. so decided to have a punt. Ran with the pre licence group for a while and just doing practice days which was fun.

We got a race licence and went racing which is where the money spirals (had no idea). You soon realise that your budget second hand kart is nowhere near competitive.

Plenty of circuits run open testing so you can just go whenever pretty much and have fun. If you race its expensive but I’d say that just doing practice/test days is 90% of the fun for a fraction of the cost and perhaps getting into racing was a probably silly. Should have been more firm with myself and stuck to practice but racing is real fun.

Visit your local club on a race day. Speak to some people and get a feel for it. everyone will be happy to help out to start with. And learning how to set up it is impossible by yourself with no knowledge (wet/dry/track temps etc). I pay for space in pit and the guy helps me out with that stuff (more money).

Several teams do arrive and drive or will look after you. for the day for a price and I know a few that will run a beginner day (Attaq Motorsport) so they can try it out (well worth it). A bit like a taster day.

where do you live OP? There’s usually a facebook group for each local track/club and various buy sell groups.

I’d personally look to buy something with a Rotax senior engine. They’re electric starting and pretty reliable. I’ve heard of ones doing 50 hours. You should be able to get a few years old kart for about £1500 with spares. A recentish rebuild would be good for that money. They should have a logbook for the engine with a stamp.

had both. replaced my carbon bars as I felt i’d had a few too many crashes and chucked on some ali Renthal bars I already had and they’re no worse.

The biggest improvement I found was changing grips.

having said that I’ve heard the vibrocore stuff works well.

Isn’t support for shielding meant to be withdrawn by the end of the month. i.e. shielding is over?

I’m not envious of your situation especially if you can work at home. I’ve been shielding (just being sensible such as not going in buildings that aren’t my house rather than hiding indoors) but no plans to go back into the office yet and we’re as effective as before so would not see the point being there full time again.

I’d like to go in a day per week though at some point to see my colleagues but our usual office capacity is basically 8 desks from our previous 40 so it would be just my team on that day.

What concerns me is, despite hand washing, the disease is horribly airborne. If there is a second wave this autumn/winter as some say we may all be heading back into the office at precisely the wrong time. I guess that’s when to assess it

Yep the ban was a joke, the FFP rules were always about protecting the established hierarchy, disguised as establishing a level playing field.
The application of the rules have been uneven and underhand, with “european royalty” Munich, Madrid, Barca, United, Liverpool and Juventus having far too much influence not just in the creation of the rules but in pressurising uefa into who they have been applied against.
This x 1,000,000 – while there needs to be limits on spending as soon as it’s against income it skews the playing field in the favour of the big established clubs. Trying to keep the new teams from the top table.

Completely agree. If your club was brought by wealthy owners who invest in the area, academy and do everything right you’d be pretty happy. To me FFP is just a way to protect the existing hegemony rather than costs.

Cost caps do have a place but FFP is a joke.

They need to start thinking about extending it and attracting more people long term with reduced snow in winter seasons. And that’s without thinking about the pandemic and the hit on visitors they’re about to face.

    Could try finale.

I think it was 4-5 months until I was back on the bike racing dh after mine. Bones heal but the muscles, tendons etc take far longer. You know you’re own body and it will tell you if its too much.
I get a bad back after standing up and sitting down (it was over 10 years ago) a while or after walking for a few hours. It sorts itself out but I county myself lucky ones so no complaints.

I have a 10 k loop I do a few times as its quite punchy with a few hills so im rarely wasting much effort on flat.

But seems a bit odd to do such distance on a repetitive short loop. Interval training is usually low mileage.

maybe its just to keep local as other have said.

    go join him doing loops

mine did the same (endure wide) as the above on its first trip over a rocky trail, even with a foam insert. I’ve bent it back but it’ll need a rebuild. Will just watch the pressures next time.

Otherwise I think they’re fine and for the money they look neat. Still not a fan of carbon wheels though. Stiffness isn’t always good. And you can bend and beat alloy with a hammer…

Have you asked the body shop to do anything specific for the rust? Simply painting it over will result in the rust reappearing as I’ve found out to my cost.

The trouble with the virus is that you can have it, and be asymptomatic and contagious, which is scary. So you wont know your ill and spread it.

Also it’s not just over 80’s. Plenty of people with well controlled health issues have died as a result of catching it.

I personally think groups are a bit too soon and can’t be doing much for our image, reading how busy Surrey Hills was and car parks more than full… And any goodwill we had is disappearing quickly.

There’s still more infections and deaths occurring than when the lockdown started.

It’s a piss take the police only act on chance of conviction. Resources are what they are but a cursory investigation should not be much effort.

It’s also frustrating when the government etc are trying to promote cycling.
