We did this with the Big Hit, but i think that was actually a design fk up.

I have a v2 Bronson, I didnt think the V3 was worth the hassle to replace it with, maybe the mullet will encourage me.

This is the reason they make new frames, to get people to buy stuff.

not sure on espresso machines if you’re new to coffee and have been drinking instant. Lots of faff and grinding needed. Bean to cup would be easiest for you but they’re costly. Aeropress has been great for me and there are plenty of ways to use it.

I guess the issue is that the mountains and fells are in the north of the country. If they were in the south there would be far less communication and mispronunciation issues.

It sounds like communication and training issues on a broader spectrum of different teams and organisations before you even mention w3w. Introducing something new that seems to be voluntarily used is going to cause some confusion.

According to the article 85% of calls are successful, but that 15% could still be catastrophic.

It depends on your attitude towards risk. I don’t think enjoyment correlates to speed for everyone. For me the road is no place to **** about and there are too many people using them, speed limits etc.

Personally I have no interest in going fast. I get my kicks elsewhere.

I used to commute daily pre covid and loved the challenge of it compared to being stuck on a car/bus. I ride less now (wfh) and have barely been out due to the weather.

My bike is one of these modern retro jobs not built for speed. Happy enough just enjoying the lanes and fresh air. My riding might be different if I had a sports bike.

So go for it OP. Motorbiking can be anything you want it to be. Lots of different types of bikes to choose from.

And it always makes me chuckle when non bikers say they would kill themselves. Honestly, try riding, all exposed and then think how much you’ll risk.

tbh with the wind it’s not actually that bad this side of Petersfield.
Rode from home to cheesefoot head and around those tracks all through winter when it was properly wet and it never got too bad so I’d just take the bike.

the other thread was about doing the SDW which is a different subject imo i.e. 160km in mud is different to your plan of doing 30.

Otherwise plenty of river walks to do.

I didn’t think locking out under braking was actually too bad as it felt quicker than with the brake isolated via floating arm as you would just skim over the bumps. Certainly the best results were with no floating arm. This was going back to the 222 though.

I honestly think it’s a bit over thought for most people including myself. as long as the angles are good, the rebound is controlled and the sag is set and it doesnt blow through the travel they all do the same thing.

I wouldn’t have an Orange again though. No bottle cage mount. Which is the actual issue.

If you have a decent level of fitness there’s usually no need to put too much effort into the climbs. Take it easy and save your energy.

make sure you eat lots on the ride. Tend to have a gel before each liaison so I don’t bonk (no coming back from bonking).

You probably wont learn where you’re going after one day of practice so just relax and take things as they come. They’re usually rideable blind. But when you do practice, take note of bigger features like drops etc.

There’s usually no need to take everything and the kitchen sink in your bag. Strap a tube and CO2 to your frame, multi tool in your pocket and a take a bottle if you want to do it bagless. They should give you an idea if there is a feed station.

He’s clearly very motivated at the moment, as the results don’t just happen and he’s driving better than ever. Even if he won an 8th this year that fire is still going to burn strongly so can’t see him stopping.

Bottas looked a prat not letting Hamilton through, and then being passed by Hamilton 3 corners later, effectively putting up no fight.
I’m sure he’ll keep his seat this year but I think his own ambitions don’t match the reality that Lewis is the GOAT.

The trail sections in that film are some of the most beautifully shot video I’ve ever seen! So beautiful.
Man, I still miss my Hope every day. Been gone 17 months now! Video made me blub 😆

Me too. Lost our pooch last week.

If you’re not fussed on how it looks then something like por15 would be good.
Alternatively i’ve used BiltHamber stuff (Hydrate 80) to good effect. Then just find a paint to over. Your process is alright, depending on how much rust there is I would just wire brush off loose rust. Then just apply the hydrate 80, then some paint as a protective surface.

Just follow instructions online if it’s for personal reasons. If you need it for a job then it’s what you need to do.

Anything to do with shims etc, while they may teach you how to take it apart and put it together with some theory, it will take years to work out how to translate shim stacks into on the hill performance imo

I’ve got Conti contactsport 6’s on mine. Seem fine anytime everywhere.

i personally wouldn’t buy a tyre suited too much to all seasons bearing in mind i rarely take the car out in the winter (salt). And if it’s slippery i drive accordingly.

I think they produce decent content considering there’s only so much they can cover. Neil and Blake are pretty spot on.

Don’t see any point for 1x systems. Cables aren’t really bothersome.
All those saying that we just dont like it because it’s innovation i.e. we hate dropper posts etc. nonsense. Electronic shifting for 1x systems offer no real discernible benefit other than it feels a little bit nicer. Great. not at £600.
Indexing gears really isnt hard. In fact when i replaced my gear cable, i didnt even need to adjust the indexing on the x01. part Luck but also because it’s simple now.

Too much time is spent on calls, which appear to be getting less concise. It’s far to easy to have a discussion and they get in the way of doing any actual work.
I’ve seen directives that hour meetings should be 50 mins etc but it never happens.

I’d quite like if they limited you to no more than 4 hours a day.

Is this BoJo’s attempt to keep the UK united? Was only last week there were headlines wrt to the Union.
Nuke’s seem like a strange thing to want more of, economics aside. More flag waving nonsense

I felt crap the following night as warned could be the case. No mention of exercise. Needed a couple of days to recover. Didn’t fancy exercise for a few days. couple of days off isn’t going to hurt unless you’re an aspiring olympian

I have fond memories of my part time work behind the deli/meat and fish counters while I was a student. Luck of the draw with managers I guess. Most are going to be promoted shelf stackers so their actual intelligence will be hit and miss and their management skills vary as a result. I feel for anyone that needs the work.

Looks the same as our family one which is just about to tick over £200k.

Mechanically feels really tight (pd130). Front arches starting to rust. Think it’ll do another 100k tbh

you can’t catch it off trees so i’d say go for it. half an hour drives fine really. With infections lowering, and the activity being outside (even the ‘mass gatherings’ at beaches etc last summer didnt result in any outbreaks) and limited contact, the chances of getting it are so low it would be a fluke. Just dont smash yourself up

I love not commuting. Hoping for something in the middle to maintain relationships and face to face meetings.
But I’m lucky as I dont live alone, have things i like to go and do.

Living alone and wfh 100% of the time would be more difficult for me.

I can only suggest taking up more activities, cooking. Keep in touch with friends etc.
Hopefully once lockdown ends you can socialise more and reduce the burden of Wfh.

Just buy Nukeproof. They’ve lasted far longer than the Burgtec’s did (which needed rebuilding once a year). The finish is good too because the top is polished Alu and therefore the anodizing doesnt fade.

    No idea on plastic pedals.

I like my EW’s. One dent on the rear but still holds air so it doesnt matter.
    Rim replacements are cheap.
I dont often get to ride rocky trails though. And next time i’m going through rock gardens I’m not running 24psi (even with inserts)

I have recently built a trail hard tail for XC duties. What I’ve learnt is boring stuff is still boring. But mainly that There’s hardly any disadvantages running a light weight FS over hard tail if cost is no issue. I can’t justify 2 high end FS bikes or I’d have two, and no hard tail. In fact the xc fs that I was using was probably more efficient as it was more comfortable.
