its not very deep, but the top tube is kind of flattened for a good 4-5cm and looks ugly. Car body filler sounds about right, was going to get it sprayed at bob jacksons, so might be worth asking if they do that sort of thing.

Get some chicken thigh meat and cut into bitesize chunks. Marinate in:

    – large tablespoon honey
    – good dash soy sauce
    – large tablespoon peanut butter
    – few chillies crushed
    – few cloves garlic crushed
    – inch of ginger crushed

Leave for half an hour then lob the chicken on a kebab skewer, bit of token veg on the skewer optional.
Trust me – they are well nice.

Yes. Undoubtedly. If my country was going down that road I would make life very difficult for them. Surely an administration like that prays on those who choose not to act. However I’m relatively young and single, if I had a family like most of you old ****’s (please don’t ban me again – I didn’t even swear!) I won’t act very differently.

The asian guy taking notes for the men (Norul) was my boss when I worked at Sainsbury’s during A-levels. He is a right smarmy ****!

I ordered the KMC Z510 gold chain, along with another KMC that did come with a quick link. Just rechecked other places that sell the 510 and they supply with a quick link too. As I said though not going to have a fit over a quick link!

Asked, they said ‘just push the pin in at the end of the chain’ (they had left a pin halfway stuck in one of the plates) and that they dont come with links – I know they do cos I have bought the same chain before. Not the end of the world though.

Sorry to hear that Trev, I got my first consignment today (ordered fri) and am pretty happy. Packaging was a bit shite and they didn’t include a quick link for my chain (then told me the chains don’t come with them – when I KNOW they do) but other than that all good. Can’t grumble at the prices and my gold large flange hubs look a lot better than I expected to be honest.

Just to pick your brain one last time stoner where do you get your spokes from? I have had a look at a few places and closest I can find to 271 is 268mm spokes, whereas I can find either 290 or 292 spokes for the rear.

Can you get away with 268s or do you know anywhere that stocks the correct size?

Also, are 290s or 292s best for the rear?

    Thanks for the help!

MGot an old Merlin Racing Cycles frame I bought off the classifieds so going to get it repainted with the decals by bob jackson in italian white – should be nice!

Any idea of the diameter of the spoke holes?

    Edit – I’ll use your numbers (271 and 291)!

    Cheers

aracer – economist? irrational? arbitrage? reminds me of uni!

Although I would have included a bit of game theory, signalling and information avalanches for extra points.

At uni me and a few mates created a loss minimising, profit maximising strategy for roulette using our economics and metrics knowledge. Won a fair bit of cash – which was duly pissed up the wall. Only worked with casino’s that offered bonus’s though.

Not a fan of gambling normally. It’s nice when you win but my philosophy is that you will always lose in the end. Just look at all the lost souls next time you walk past a bookies.

Carry through a warm room. Add colemans mustard. Done.

A well aged steak shouldn’t be bloody by the way, or have you boys been eating inferior ‘new kill’?
