I think being what 12/13? sorry if I’m wrong will have a big impact on a quicker recovery time mind.

Interesting, as ‘sticky’ is a word I’d never associate with Vibram – most of their walking boot soles seem to be designed to have the lowest possible coefficient of friction, ergo I wouldn’t buy anything with their soles on them. Although maybe they have upped their game in the last few years…..

One Vibram rubber is not equal to another, like 5:10’s stealth rubber there’s lots of Vibram rubber that has been developed for climbing shoes and it is every bit as sticky there. Not sure which version is used for resoling approach/biking shoes but it’s not necessarily the same as used on walking boots. Anyhow I’m gonna get a pair of tennie guides resoled after I’ve been paid so I’ll report back though tbh i’d be less worried if it wasn’t super sticky as they’d last longer that way.

I hear that lemon juice in a lateral flow gives you a positive test, someone with less scruples than me might suggest that a positive test today would be a convenient excuse not to go to Germany.

Did that route a few weeks back, didn’t see any signs and nothing to stop you riding it. I’d just crack on and plead ignorance if challenged. easier to ask for forgiveness than permission and all.

it might be giving into fashion but I bloody love riding in trousers fully recommend, I wear them whenever its cool enough now not just for uplift days.

Thanks for the tips @creepers i landed bs slappy 50-50s for the first time tonight, much easier that fs. Admittedly it was on the smallest curb ever but you have to start somewhere! Should have filmed it but there were other people there and I was trying not to look any lamer than I already am, I’ll try to get a clip next time.
I also managed to drop in to most of ramps without dying which was good!

well done, I’m a little bit jealous, I loved my time in Swansea, I was a student there. Had a holiday in Murton on the Gower last year and a great time. We only climbed and surfed though didn’t take the bikes!

    Hope you enjoy!

Under 22s in Scotland now get free bus travel. It’s an excellent idea but unfortunately it’s been marred by a truly awful implementation of the service to manage it.

simple solution make it free for everyone then there’s no application system to balls up

I’m pretty sure speed limits apply to cyclists as things stand you just can’t enforce it with speed cameras. surely it’d be cheaper just to pay for more coppers though!

    well everyone in the country needs;
    Power,
    housing,
    transport,
    water;
and to all intents and purposes an internet connection.

so I’d say that’s a good list to start with in terms of bringing things back into the public ownership.
Id say as a bare minimum things where effective competition is impossible, so rail and public transport, water housing and to an extent power.

I wouldn’t worry about where to stop as it hasn’t even started yet!

Oooh thanks for the vids i can just about manage the boardslides on rails just about, quite like the idea of a lipslide have to try that on a rail.

@creepers it was me who mentioned slappies, but only cos I tried to spanner myself learning fs 50-50s need to go back and give it another go hopeing to find a nice waxed curb to try them on. Was also thinking of backing it off a notch and trying to learn slappy nose slides as I’ve already been playing with curb nose stalls.

    tips welcome.

@kimbers, I’d also not bother having your front foot so far back, I’ve been having mine maybe an inch behind the front truck bolts, gives you a bit more room to spring from the drag part is THAT important until you’re getting off the ground and even then it’s more about perfecting them I think.

@kimbers if you’re accepting tips on your ollies, I think your problem is your pop, It’s more of a flick/kick with your back foot as you’ve already started jumping most of the motion at the pop comes from the ankle rather than the full leg too. not that I’m an expert but I’ve just been going through the process again so it’s fresh.

    Looking good @jam-bo
Managed a boardslide on a rail on Monday evening then had a good go at spannering myself trying to learn slappy 50-50s
Hope everyone else is keeping the dream alive. I’ll try to post some videos next time.

well I cycled to work for the first time in ages today, not because it was cycle to work day just because I’ve mainly been working from home recently but I’m in the office today.

probably worth checking that the wheel nuts aren’t over tightened, in terms of turning the truck bolts might need loosening to make turning easier. If he’s still slower he might just need to learn to pump, works the same as it does on a bike.

@relapsed_mandalorian things like that are a real shame but unfortunately inevitable that that’ll happen to a few people every time.

Hmmm as someone who’s repeatedly faild to get an entry its a touch frustrating if people are bailing out cos its going to be a bit muddy.

Yes as in more difficult, was trying to work out whether I should go back to the more normal wheels or not, the surfaces round here are so rough it’s nice having the softer bigger wheels to roll around on.

    joe-m
    Full Member

so I’m getting there with regards to a consistent ollie but I was trying out some bigger softer wheels off my cruisier and I found them much harder, is this a thing or is it just changing wheel size and I’ll get used to it?

Ahhhh thanks I definitely won’t go and check them out so I definitely won’t see you up there at some point. I’ll not be on the 2018 red and silver mega.

Looks like a lovely bike, hope you continue to enjoy. I’d love to do something similar but I’m on a self imposed new bike ban at the moment, I’m meant to be upgrading what I have to fit my needs rather than just buying a new thing.

yup rebranded from BMCC dunno why but it’s the same place, I’m pretty keen to go back, and that’s from someone living in Newcastle, think my jumping improved more in 1 day there than in years of riding elsewhere.

Think they’d be fine on the blues there, from memory the reds are all rollable but the table tops on them are pretty big.
