Is there anyway to see the locations of the counter protests? The more peaceful demonstrators that we can get to join in the better.

stand up to racism website has a list of planned counter demo locations. Me and a few friends are planning to attend the one in Newcastle.

Was at the counter protest in Newcastle tonight was great to see so many out standing together against all the hate. We might not have won but this is how we win!

I was still getting the notifications lastnight so maybe not??

although apparently someone was spending money in a pub don’t know who that could have been…..so maybe there is a problem.

it did all look amazingly easy for Pog but maybe he’s just very good and his rivals are out of form, very hard to compare.

it’s a minefield! Stick with well known makes, and reputable sellers, and your battery should be OK.

which would these be or are you having to stick to buying whole bikes?

The thing that would really kill the tories as a party would be if they weren’t the official opposition if there was a way of making this the libdems that’d be much more impactful than a huge labour majority. I mean id like it to be the greens but we’re in the real world.

20% VAT on private schools, I thought Labour’s far left class hatred was expunged during the ‘New Labour’ years?

So all those ordinary, average earning families who’s only hope of a decent school for the kids was scrimping, no holidays, no new car, make do and mend, to get them in a fee paying school will now be priced out of the sector and will have to find places in state schools (funded by taxes)

    Geniuses.

    are you on crack.

gotta call BS on this one, there’s no way 40 tories would have kept a secret for that long. Wasn’t even rumours of a July election as far as I can tell.

I’ve been on holiday the last two times we’ve had a change in PM, I’ve got a holiday booked for the 29th june -6th july just saying.

Think the trick is probably to wait 6 months then stick them on once everyones forgotten how cheap they were.

The amount of very expensive cars with racks, parked in any nearby layby of any popular MTB trail head is shameful.

if there was any sense that money actually went back into the trails then I think there would be a lot less of this.

retty much what I’d expect from a socialist audience that don’t seem to like employers very much though. Pay everyone more, in fact give your labourers tradesmen’s wages right from the off, doesn’t matter if they are any good or not.

Wait until he hears about collective bargaining in other industries.

I thought capitalists wanted a market economy.

They’re not even acting in the interests of their members though. Some staff will be the same (staying at 8%) and the rest will be worse off. Literally no-one wins / benefits from their actions.

It’s unlikely that’s the whole story then, either strings attached to the earlier offer or your employer has withdrawn it.  If its the latter the union has over played their hand but that’s different to actually sabotaging the earlier offer. I doubt you’d have had either offer if there wasn’t a union at all.

this, if you’re not a member you can’t complain that a union doesn’t act in your interest.
This is a stance I have to disagree with. In what way is it acceptable for the union to actively work to disadvantage non members? Thats the definition of a protection racket; “Pay us money each month or we’ll make sure your shafted”

they’re not actively shafting you though, they’re acting in the interests of their members. If you were a member and they acted in the interest of non-members over your own you’d be pretty cheesed off.

Got to LOL at someone being upset that a union they aren’t a member of hasn’t taken their views into account.

this, if you’re not a member you can’t complain that a union doesn’t act in your interest.

Oh, and the increasing number of fully grown adults riding on the pavements…

the behaviour described above and this are not unrelated though. Tbg if they are pootling along in a relaxed fashion this isn’t really a problem.

Unlikely.  We need an 8pt or more win against Ireland with a try bonus point I believe

It’s either or rather than both as if a team is level on points it comes down to head to head not points difference. Scotland are 4 points behind Ireland. Huge ask of course but not impossible.

Take the day off if you feel rough, you won’t be working properly anyhow and you’ll recover quicker.

Maybe drivers should get off and walk whenever the road becomes a bit narrow, oh wait……

imnho a better solution would be to put the road down to 20 so cars and bikes can mix more safely pedestrians and bikes do not mix well unless the bike is ridden by a child with stabilisers.

wasn’t going to head down unless it was a dry spell, not been in the wet but I’m not looking to experience it in the wet either. was just wondering if things had been closed or sabotaged etc.

What’s the mega like to just ride around on when it’s just woodsy windy singletrack?

Its good once you’re going down hill if it’s flat it feels a bit flat but once you go downhill it’s great.

What size do I want? I’m exactly on their border between M and L.

large id say, I’m on the border between small and medium Ive have a medium and it’s never felt too big

There seems to be a common theme in a couple of threads lately with people WFH doing pretty much anything other than actually working.

Just curious, does this tie in with what your company is expecting you to be doing?

or conversely this shows how little work actually gets done in the office. they can be bloody distracting places when they’re busy. I’m in 4 days a week now but when it’s busy I find myself plugging into my headphones to shut everyone out.
